8. 🧢 CLOTHING: What is your MC currently wearing in the most recent scene of your WIP?

I'll go with some characters from Supernova Initiative and Scrapyard Boys (a spinoff to my WIP Mutant Inquiries)!

SUPERNOVA INITIATIVE:

Jack Tithus - In the most recent scene that I worked on for that WIP (that scene being a part of the 5-chapter/episode backstory act), Jack is wearing a worn-out, black leather jacket, a simple white T-shirt, old combat boots, grey jeans and his trinket necklace.

Kye Thalax - I still haven't reached the scene where he is first introduced in this WIP, but when I do reach that scene, Kye is going to be wearing a pitch-black coat with an also pitch black long-neck shirt, dark grey pants, and spy shoes.

Gabi Ophyria - In her first scene, which also happens to be the most recent scene I have of her, she is wearing a black bomber jacket with multicolored, neon ornaments, leather boots, multiple bracelets of different colors, fingerless dark grey leather gloves, white jeans and a long sleeved shirt.

SCRAPYARD BOYS

Valen - He is wearing a ripped denim vest (short-sleeved), an old black shirt with the logo of his favorite punk rock band, ripped-up jean pants, worn-out red sneakers, and a bunch of resin/plastic bracelets.

Saoirse - She is wearing an oversized yellow hoodie, a stripped purple and grey shirt, a choker with the biohazard symbol etched onto it, high-neck white sneakers, and grey sweatpants.

Max - She wears a fun T-shirt with a blue flannel longsleeved shirt over it, black jeans, boots, and some assorted necklaces and keeps a beige leather jacket on her backpack in case she needs it.

POMEGRANATE - Which myth would they relate to the most?

Jack Tithus - Prometheus

"[...] One day, Zeus distributed gifts to all the gods, but he didn't care much for humans. The Titan Prometheus, however, because he loved and felt sorry for humans, climbed up on Olympus and stole the fire from Hephaestus' workshop, put it in a hollow reed, and gifted it to the humans. This way, humans could create fire, warm up, and make tools. Zeus became very angry when he heard about this. He took Prometheus to a high mountain, the Caucasus, and chained him on a rock with thick chains made by the smith god, Hephaestus. And every day, Zeus would send an eagle that ate Prometheus’ liver. For thirty years Prometheus remained bound in the Caucasus, until the great hero Hercules, Zeus’ demigod son, released him finally from his torment. [...]"

Kye Thalax - Icarus

"[...] The labyrinth in King Mino’s palace was designed by a famous inventor and engineer, Daedalus. It is said that Athena herself taught Daedalus. King Minos commissioned to Daedalus and his son Icarus the construction of the labyrinth that would held the monster Minotaur. After finishing their work, King Minos imprisoned father and son inside the labyrinth, in an effort to prevent knowledge of his labyrinth from spreading to the public. Father and son were thinking hard on how to escape until Daedalus came up with an idea. They gathered a lot of feathers from birds and glued them together with wax thus, making four large wings. They tied the wings to each shoulder and fled from the island of Crete. Daedalus had warned Icarus not to fly close to the sun because the wax would melt. After passing the island of Delos, the boy, forgetting himself, flew high towards the sun. The hot sun softened the wax that held the feathers together and Icarus fell in the sea and drowned. Daedalus named the place where his son fell Icaria, in his memory. [...]"

Deimos Soll - Pandora's Box

"[...] After Prometheus gave the fire to humans, Zeus decided to take vengeance. He ordered Hephaestus to create the first human woman out of soil and water. Each god gave the woman a gift: Athena gave her wisdom, Aphrodite beauty, Hermes cunning, and so on. The name of the woman was Pandora (meaning “all gifts” in Greek). Zeus gave Pandora a jar, warning her not to open it under any circumstances, and sent her to Prometheus’ brother, Epimetheus. Prometheus had warned his brother not to accept any gifts from Zeus. However, Epimetheus accepted Pandora who, although tried hard to resist the temptation, opened the jar and released all evils upon the world. Hatred, war, death, hunger, sickness, and all the disasters were immediately released. [...]"

JAM - Can they cook?

Jack - Yes, he can! And quite well at that! Though - as I usually say - his usual (and favorite) dish consists of basically the space version of dino nuggets with hot chocolate lmao. He knows how to cook because he has been his little sister's guardian for years now, and so he had to learn how to properly look after her, and that includes preparing food.

Kye - I'm not sure lol. Since he is good at survival, I would assume that he knows how to prepare a dish or two for himself, but I can't say if it would be tasty or not lmao.

Deimos - He knows, especially the basics, and his dishes are quite decent. But he does remark that he is nowhere near as good at it as Jack, and quite honestly, Deimos is right lol. Still, his dishes aren't bad, they're just average. And he's fine with it, to be honest!

CANDY - Do they have a sweet tooth?

Jack - YES. Yes, he does. His favorite beverage, to this day, is hot chocolate, for a reason after all. He also loves candy and all kinds of desserts. Since sweet things were quite expensive in the moon where he grew up - and he was a street urchin who rarely had enough money to stay alive - desserts and candy were rare, sweet treats that he grew to adore whenever he got the rare chance to have some. And now that he is a rich intergalactic thief, he can have all the candy that he wants!

Kye - Hates sweets, but mostly because they remind him of someone from his past (who loved desserts) that he couldn't save. Because of it, candies and desserts kinda became something he associates with sadness, so he kinda just avoids those so as not to feel the emotional whiplash.

Deimos - Eh. I mean, he likes sweets, but he doesn't like eating sweet things all the time. An occasional bag of candies or a platter of cookies? Sure he loves those, in moderation. But if it is too sweet it makes his stomach turn. He prefers a milder amount of sugar.

Kye Thalax

1) What is your stance on lying?

"Lying is pretty much what I do (chuckles). I tend to be very good at it, especially since my preferred method to undermine my enemies is blackmail, espionage, and the art of poisoning. I don't like lying to people I care about that much though, so sometimes it can be a struggle to turn off the liar side of my personality and focus on being moe genuine, especially since I'm painfully socially awkward if I'm being honest."

2) Do you enjoy people watching?

"I can be quite perceptive and observant, things rarely slip past me and I'm very attentive to details. It's almost second nature to me. I don't quite get 'people watching' as a hobby though - that sounds hella boring and I think it's very weird to just go out and watch people living their lives. In short, I notice relevant details about others around me when interacting with them, but don't go out of my way to watch other people, just as I don't like having people watching me."

3) What is the best decision you ever made?

"I made quite a lot of bad decisions, that's for sure (chuckles). I'm quite good at making those. I'm not sure if I can recall the absolute best decision I ever made, but there have been a few very good ones. Learning how to make deadly poisons and how to combine dangerous chemicals to create a new substance that suits my needs, not falling for the Junction's lies in the same way I don't fall for the Khosmonian's political bullshit, and despite my best judgment, me not betraying the crew was a very good decision on my part, for a few reasons, though it still rather shocks me."

Valen Cassidy

1) What is your stance on lying?

"Eh. I don't really give a damn what people say. Lying can be really useful to avoid getting into trouble, especially when the government fuckers want to catch you and turn you into a weapon. But lying to friends and family is a no-no. Loved ones are meant to be cherished and protected, lying to them only hurts their feelings and harms your relationship. I think that people who lie to those who care about them are pieces of shit that don't even deserve being given the time of day."

2) Do you enjoy people watching?

"I get that some people do like to go out and people watch but I find it a boring waste of time that is bound to only get me in trouble. Plus, what would I even watch? It isn't like people in my city are exactly having the best time of their lives, and the city isn't exactly a paragon of beautiful metropolitan architecture."

3) What is the best decision you ever made?

"Running away from the government when they tried to send me to that superhuman training facility. I don't think I would even be here talking to you if I hadn't. That place is trouble - most people sent there are never seen again and those who do appear are no longer the same. It's popularly nicknamed 'The Slaughterhouse' for a reason. I'm glad I chose to escape that day, because I'm still alive and myself, and I also met my current best friends who are like family to me - I probably wouldn't have met them if I hadn't run away."

Jordan Raith

1) What is your stance on lying?

"My talent when it comes to lying is excellent. Most people aren't able to tell that I'm not telling the truth. Where I grew up, knowing how to lie - and how to lie well - was a matter of killing or being killed, quite frankly. That's why I'm so good at it. Sometimes I even have fun lying, when I'm doing it to someone who deserves it."

2) Do you enjoy people watching?

"Occasionally, if I'm really bored. It's not really something I go out of my way to do, exactly, but it can be fun. Mostly I people watch when I'm waiting for a friend to get their coffee or waiting for a cab, as a way to pass time."

3) What is the best decision you ever made?

"Leaving the Spectre Academy. That place had never done anything for me other than turning me into the government's disposable little weapon. I was sick of it. And now, surprisingly, I have people I care about and who care for me equally, and I wouldn't trade that for anything."

CRIMSON - What would it take for them to kill someone they know?

Thank you so much for the ask, @kaylinalexanderbooks! Since I've already answered this for Supernova Initiative twice, I'm gonna go with The Forgotten Ones for this one!

Deryc - He would be willing to kill a stranger to escape the Inquisition, and would also be willing to kill in order to protect himself and especially his Kindred, Asael, who is like an older brother to him and who practically raised him. He is also rather vengeful, and being an elemental fire mage, there is no one who can stand in his way if he is seeking vengeance.

Sorin - Wouldn't kill anyone without a fair fight or a duel, and would not kill an unarmed foe unless strictly necessary, as she abides by the warrior/knight's honor code she was taught by her father. But would definitely kill a stranger or an acquaintance if needed. Just after winning that fight.

Elodie - It would be very unlikely that she would ever kill anyone, as she dreads even the thought of ever doing something like that. However, if she had to protect herself, her boyfriend Arzhel, or her siblings I definitely think she would kill to protect them, though as the last of all resorts.

This excerpt is from my WIP The Forgotten Ones!

"Remember me?" Deryc stepped out of the shadows, into the cluttered hallway, lit by the flickering lamplight, eyes burning with a bright red fury, like molten iron. 

The Magister scrambled back, startled, but with disdain and contempt still written on his timeworn face. "Now why would I remember you? Another wildmage come to spread your kind's corruption further into this wretched land, no doubt."

Deryc gave him a manic, feral smile, though his eyes remained unyielding, "Not really. But you do remember me though." He took a step forward, stopping at arms' reach from the Magister, tilting his head to the side slowly, like a curious cat, letting the dim light frame his angular features - for a moment, like a haunting picture of every crime the Inquisition had committed, come to life. "Because I'm the boy who watched you torture his brother for power. For magic you called profane, but which you wanted to wield. You destroyed my world..."

The young man paused, savoring the moment. His eyes grew brighter, ember red, now glowing in the shade. Deryc watched the Magister's face visibly pale, disdain seeping away from his features and giving way to sheer, unbridled fear. And oh, how he loved the sight of it. 

Deryc finally finished his sentence, holding out his hands, from which twin flames now burned bright, "Now I'm going to burn yours."
