Sano Shinichiro x gn!reader

FLUFF, slight angst? 1.4k words

"So? What happened next?" The girls eyes were shining in interest as she leaned forward, lips slightly parted.

"The week passed incredibly fast. I bought my dress/suit with my last money. I was saving up for more art supplies, so it was extremely painful to watch the cashier take all of my money." You let out a giggle and look at the kids sitting in front of you.

Emma was sitting to Draken's left, while Mikey was sitting to his right. Their new friend Takemichi was sitting next to Mikey and his girlfriend Hina was sitting next to him. Baji was sitting right next to the couch, on the ground for some reason. But he wasn't alone, since Chifuyu also joined him.

"Shinichiro was stressed. He didn't know which flowers to buy and he even thought of buying a ring for some reason? I heard the guys talking about it in the art classroom and they told him that the ring was unnecessary." You look at your right hand, the cheap, but beautiful ring was adorning your finger. "He did buy the ring.. Though he gifted it to me later on in life. On our one year anniversary. Said it was a promise ring and that in the future he'd change it into an engagement ring..." The teenagers look at the ring on your finger. All of them had soft expressions on their faces. Hina, Takemichi and Chifuyu never got the chance to meet the eldest Sano, but from all of the stories they knew that he was an amazing person.

Baji always felt guilty for what happened and he didn’t want to face you, stating that it’ll be better for you to not see one of the two boys that were at fault for your lovers death. But you awaited with open arms, saying that you could never be mad at him, you understood that he didn’t mean for it to happen. He was just a kid.

"How did prom go for the two of you?" Hina asked dreamily. She couldn't wait until Takemichi and her could go to prom together. Thinking of all the possible ways he will ask her out.

"Well.."

Standing in your room you looked at the mirror. Fixing up the last details of the look. Until you heard someone knocking on your door. As you run towards the door, you start to feel anxious. What if Shinichiro thought that it was a mistake to go with you? He did ask other girls.. What if one of them changed her mind? As you open the door, you see a scared Shinichiro standing in front of you. Shaking slightly.

"I'm so sorry!" He suddenly yells and your anxiety gets worse. "I bought these beautiful flowers, but I didn't think about the fact that they wouldn't live for long since I drove with my bike here.. Though a few of them survived the ride!" He shows you the bouquet of flowers and you stiffen a laugh. There were like three flowers that were left untouched. The main portion of the bouquet was just stems.

"It's the thought that counts?" You smile and take the flowers out of his hands. "Thank you, Shin." You give him a hug. And as you walk away from him to put the flowers into a vase, his jaw dropped. You looked so.. ethereal. You were always beautiful. But now.. He pinched himself to check if he wasn't dreaming, thinking you wouldn't see him. But you did. You started to blush and looked straight to his eyes, sending him a smile.

"He pinched himself?! What a loser." Mikey laughs, but you know it's not mean spirited. Emma and him missed their older brother. Even to this day, they would come to the house you once shared with Shinichiro, for sleepovers. You gave them a few of his sweaters so they would always have a piece of him with them.

“What kind of flowers were they?” Emma asks, putting her head on Draken’s shoulder.

“White camellias. I have them framed. Here.” You nod your head towards the three framed flowers. “I pressed them with a book. Didn’t think too much of the meaning at first, but a few days later I realised that white camellias symbolize adoration.”

“Here. Give me your hand.” Shinichiro takes your hand into his and helps you to hop off of his bike. You thought he’d let go of it as soon as possible, but he didn’t. He squeezed it a few times and you saw a red colour painting his face and ears. “You ready?”

“Yeah..” you squeeze his hand back and the both of you walk into school. Music was already playing and could be heard through out the corridors. As you get closer to the school hall, Shinichiro suddenly stops and let’s out a shaky breath.

“You..” he clears his throat. “You don’t regret coming with me, right?” He looks at you and in that moment you realised that he looked more like a lost puppy, than a gang leader. “If you.. It’s not too late y’know? You can go with someone else, I don’t mind! Actually-“

“Shinichiro.” You interrupt him and squeeze his hand once again. “I don’t like events like.. prom. Or places full of people and loud music. I would rather stay at home.” You put your other hand on his cheek, stroking it with your thumb. “But I wanna do this with you. And no one else. Okay? I feel like I’ll actually have fun today. And the main reason for that is the fact that you’re here with me. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to actually leave my house and that damned art classroom to actually have fun and socialise.” You let out a laugh.

“No..” Shinichiro leans more into your palm on his face. “Thank you, (Y/N). For everything.”

“I didn’t know he was such a romantic.” Baji comments and Mikey kicks him, making Baji fall to the floor from his sitting position.

“C’mon! He would always dream about love! What d’you mean you didn’t know he was into romance.”

So many different type of emotions were clouding your mind. But most of the anxious thoughts were erased from your mind when you look into his eyes. Your hands were around his neck and his were around your waist. A slow song was playing, as the both of you felt like you were the only ones who showed up to prom. Slowly you put your head on his shoulder, breaking the eye contact and closing your eyes, finding comfort in his arms. It all felt too good to be true.

Was this the butterfly effect you were reading about not too long ago? An accidental meeting with a few random boys and giving them a key to an empty classroom led to this night. You gained four amazing friends, but also developed a crush on the awkward dark haired boy. What if that day you decided to skip art club? Whatever. That didn’t happen and that’s all that matters.

The song was coming to an end and you bring your head up from his shoulder and look at him. Shinichiro was blushing and smiling. He leaned forward a bit, his lips almost touching your ear.

“Can I.. Can I kiss you?” He whispers. It felt like you lost your voice. Your throat went dry and the only thing you could do was nod your head.

The both of you had your first kiss that night.

“What happened after that?” Hina asks. “When did he ask you out on a date?”

“That night he asked for me to become his significant other first. And after I agreed, he asked me out on an actual date.” You smile at the memory. “Remember the drawings I told you about?” They nodded their heads. “He actually got the bee I drew tattooed on his arm. On our three year anniversary.”

All of you kept talking for the rest of the evening. Even though he wasn’t there with you anymore, he lived on in all of your memories. And even though you couldn’t see him, Shinichiro was sitting right beside you, listening to all of the stories with a huge and proud smile.

BONUS:

Mikey runs around the unknown school. Damn Takemichi and him not answering his or Draken’s texts. A meeting was going to be held soon and they needed to get ahold of Takemichi as soon as possible. Mikey grabs the door handle and opens it with force.

Though he was met not with Takemichi, but with a girl who looked around his age. She slowly puts down the paintbrush she was holding and takes off her earphones.

“Uhh.. Can I help you?” She clears her throat. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in the art club before. Or are you new?”

the sky begins to darken as the moon slowly begins to rise, yet you stayed underneath the blanket fort you had built with rindou in his living room right in front of his tv. rindou pulls you closer into his embrace, humming softly as the both of you continue to watch the movie that's playing on the screen.

averting his attention to your face, he runs his fingers through your hair and places a gentle kiss against your temple.

sighing softly in contentment, you nuzzle his chest, wanting to melt into his embrace; his warmth making you feel safe. you feel his chin resting atop your head and start to softly draw shapes on his back.

“it's late,” you mutter softly–a bit timid, as if you’re terrified of ruining the comfortable silence that the both of you had fallen into.

“stay for the night,” rindou mumbles, moving his head to nuzzle his face into your neck. contemplating the offer, you chew on your lower lip, fiddling with the necklace he had gifted to you on your second date.

“only if i can wear your favorite hoodie." you look at him, eyes sparkling in happiness.

"the white one that's really big with bellflowers on it?” he chuckles, brushing your bangs away from your eyes, squishing your cheeks gently.

“of course, my angel. whenever you want, always.”

Another Random Headcannon of the day:

Pah-chin has a bocchan's palate; his taste in food is expensive, and he always looks for the best his money can buy.

It's canon that he's loaded, so his pocket money can cover all three meals for the average kid, and he eats with Peh-yan in restaurants, not fast food joints. Because of this, he has knowledge of proper table etiquette, he just doesn't want to do it. (he does teach his future wifey all he knows though, just to show off)

He also refuses to settle, so when he takes his partner on dates, think five course meals, food prepared in front of you, fresh from the sea kinds of bougie.

Not that it needs to be said, but his wife only gets the best. Yes more, no less.
