Wanting To Share Some WIPs For A Current "mini" Project. I Was Heavily Inspired By This Months Theme

Wanting to share some WIPs for a current "mini" project. I was heavily inspired by this months theme "Harajuku", provided by "Character Design References"
This theme feels like a Homecoming, given that I basically grew up on Visual Kei Fashion and it's various subcultures. (which is also a very prominant Fashion style in Harajuku).
I took a lot of inspiration from the Bands I grew up with. Like Exist Trace, The GazettE, An Cafe. I also recently discovered Kiryu and after seeing Takemasa I had to design a outfit based on him, haha!
Are you listening to Visual Kei? If so, what is your favorite band? :)

I think showing this artwork is a little scary because it's one of those artworks that I did not really polish but rater left in a pretty rough state. I currently work on some ideas involving Forest scenes and since forests are far out of my comfort zone, I decided to do a study of them. While drawing, I had this quote by Pascal Campion in mind, paraphrasing: "Not every artwork has to be well rendered, but only so much that it makes sense. As long as the focal point is clear, the rest doesn't actually matter too much" ....or something along those lines. And so I did the study, at first with no goal. I liked the composition tho, so I felt the need to add a little blue goblin, looking if the sky cleared up, and a very sleepy ladybug. I wish I could share some deeper thoughts and more inside as I usually do. But I'm quite tired so apologise for my lack of words today! I hope you enjoy this little image anyway!

It's done :3
(also yes , I was heavily inspired by Kiryu)
La cocaina no es buene para su salud

"Like a drug which is hard to put down, we drown our misery in metrics. We want to be seen and hide our pain behind a fake smile and a plastic world. A few likes to clench our thirst for attention. A few likes in order to remind us that we are actually worth something. We are observing the world through a square device while we slowly forget how to think, how to feel. How to be human. We are living in an attention economy and social media is addictive by design. "
I know it's kinda ironic to vent about the "attention economy" while contributing to it at the same time but I just needed to get this off my chest. Maybe I'm getting old.

Nostalgia An Image about Nostalgia. In a way, this was a remake of an Illustration from 2021. I did not only try to see how much I improved over time but also how many easter eggs I was able to hide within a picture!
