When approached with such a move in the form of a dare, only then did you realize how stupid the entire ordeal was. Everything before this very moment could’ve been avoided had you thought about it a little more. Now, you risked putting everything you built for yourself on the line just because you chose dare instead of truth. What once crumbled was something you were trying to rebuild, and inevitably, it would crumble once more, maybe to a point beyond repair if you continued with it. 

“I don’t care, I’m not gonna budge. Call me whatever you want, it doesn’t matter.”  

There was a time where you could gaze upon your phone screen and somehow feel relieved with what you were trying to do to tie up loose ends in a relationship that you felt like shouldn’t have ended. There was something satisfying about writing everything down somewhere and putting it on digital paper with the reassurance you had from yourself that you wouldn’t press send.

Now, there was nothing short of regret painting your every move. Only now could you realize how utterly stupid the idea was. 

On top of that it was something your therapist seemed to endorse after how you thought it would help you achieve the one thing you felt that you needed most.
