After patch 5 and seeing the epilogue for the worst ending for Durge I have so many thoughts running through my head.

Mostly I find it interesting that this is one of the very few times when I don't want my character to go all evil or crazy, this time I want my Durge to redeem themself, to resist the darkness, be free and happy.

Usually, when I see in media that the main character deals with their "dark side" or is being corrupted, I always want them to go into that darkness because I'm not a big fan of "pure good hero" and because they have much better personality and powers in my opinion 😅

But here?

Durge is... An animal, they're feral, they're twitching and growling, covered in blood and dirt, they can't even speak as the narrator says.

When looking at some options it kind of seems like the little part of "good" Durge is still in there, that wants to fight, to protect their friends and lover but they can't, Bhaal is much stronger than them.

In this case, their only way to protect everyone and to free themself is to die.

Now that you mention it... It makes me think that the gnolls are kinda like happy dogs when their owner comes back home (which is kind of true)

I'm sorry, I have been saying that Gortash is the only one who reacts positively to you returning to his life.

The gnolls at moonrise towers are also happy to see you.

Do you think if Durge and Gortash had more romantic moments one of them would be giving a bouquet to eachother?

But in Durge's case it wouldn't be flowers it would be arms that they thought looked pretty to give for their favorite person at the time

I do know that other characters also have their own trumas and issues but I'm mostly connected to these two

I think I just came into a quite fucked up conclusion why I was so happy when watching Astarion kill Cazador (but I wanna hug him tight when I saw him cry), angry when meeting Gortash mother and making a backstory for my Durge is quite easy...

I can thank my dad for that

And yet people still ask 'why do you want to romance him?'

I have so many thoughts about this...

I think I remember someone talking about a theory that Cazador knew Durge somehow or maybe even met them once and just shit himself everytime he glanced at them, so here I am laughing my ass off imagining Cazador staring at Astarion all smug but then he looks at the companions and sees the very familiar face and is like "Wait... Why are they there? Why are they looking at me like that!?"
