Thinking about how Vander and Silco complete each other...

Where Vander lacks physical affection for his kids, Silco gives too much of it.

Where Silco doesn't let his daughter be independent enough, Vander enforces his daughter being so independent she is the one in charge of her siblings.

Where Vander teaches kindness and peace, Silco teaches war and rebellion.

Where Vander makes Zaun slowly die, though have a community, Silco makes Zaun thrive economically but puts people against each other.

They are parallels but foils.

As a writer I hate it when people get so perfect with grammar and sentence structures. My personal opinion is if it follows the rules of language enough to where you can clearly understand what the person is trying to say it’s perfect. Language was created to communicate and express ideas, not restrict us. I was so bugged when Stephen King in his book On Writing said it was weaker or worse to say: ‘“He jumped!” he exclaimed.’ Then to say ‘“He jumped!” he said.’. It was just such a nit-picky thing to say. Language was made to express yourself but people judge certain ways of speaking/writing for no valid reason. Say everything other than said, say said as well, say whatever you want! Language is a tool not a barrier. Language is one of the greatest inventions in history, you should not be scared to mess up in it or to be judged for your words. Say stuff in weird ways! Say words from hundreds of years ago! All that matters is you are understood. That is the only rule that should matter. Never be scared to say funky things. If you are judged then ignore them. If you are understood and happy with the words you choose then nothing else should be of importance. Love language.

Everyone always says silco looks like a rat but I've always thought he looked like a fish?

Like he has that dejected look, downturned mouth, long nose, wide oddly colored unblinking eye, dunkleosteus teeth, and he loves water. He also circles Marcus like a shark.

Don't tell me this doesn't look like an actual fish

Also not silco related but I'm now realizing how stupid most fish look now I can't look at one without smirking, like just imagine if a person looked at you like that

Just heard someone call Silco "World's okayest dad" and I nearly choked on my coffee
