Not to be overdramatic but if Jeckole don’t kiss in the new game what’s the point?
class of 09 girls + their aesthetics bc i’m tired of people not getting them.
(minor tw for sh & ed):
jecka: she’s literally a preppy, trendy 2000s teen. she wears lacoste/abercrombie polo shirts, hollister skinny jeans, american eagle, bebe jackets, and juicy couture. a lot of her clothes come from her mom’s job, as apparently her mom gets them for free.
she is a “pharma-princess” and openly idolizes paris hilton. she smokes cigarettes and casually abuses painkillers. she may be a little trashy, but she dresses like any other fashionable girl from that era.
nicole: for starters, shes lower middle class. her mom buys she cheapest internet and cable packages, as well as being on the assisted lunch plan. that being said, she’s not buying a ton of miss me jeans, bb belts, or affliction shirts. shes a hot topic/spencers fiend bc she can steal it. her outfits are usually a hoodie, tank top, or t-shirt with ripped skinny jeans- which is to say they aren’t very complicated. i think people get confused and try and dress her in the modern “y2k” fashion, but it doesn’t really work for her.
shes severely depressed and winning the idagf war, which is shown in her makeup and nails. i think her makeup routine is very messy and smudged, but thats lowkey the look.
emily: shes rich, but she doesn’t care or acknowledge it. she can buy whatever she wants, but chooses to go for the grungey/emo look. even though she’s the most “scene” character, she still follows a few trends- ex: the lifeguard hoodie. her hair is definitely damaged by the box bleach she uses and the excessive use of her straightener. i also think she 100% has raccoon eyes (in the avril lavigne-way.)
she parties with her sketchy boyfriends, day drinks, and does almost any drug she can get her hands on. she’s suicidal and highkey crazy, which results in her tattoos and scars. (the excessive SH-culture is completely on brand for the 2000s.)
ari: borderline manic pixie dream girl going through a sexuality crisis. she’s almost emo, but not quite. she wears winged eyeliner and red lipgloss. her wardrobe consists of mostly graphic tee shirts and skinny + bootcut jeans. she dyes her hair because “no one understands her,” but she still has a decent relationship with her parents.
she used to be a girl scout, so she definitely cuts her own hair and thinks it’s rebellious. i think her favorite shoe would be black high top converse.
kelly: is the definition of a trendy, trashy, 2000s girl. kelly is also rich (as stated by jecka.) she’s popular with the boys because she’s pretty, has big boobs, and dtf. she wears a lot of hollister, wet seal, juicy couture, and victoria secret. i think she would wear a full face of makeup to school. her hair is dyed blonde but she keeps the roots grown out just a little.
megan: 2000s THEATRE KID!! she’s ARTSY, not EMO. she’s apparently pretty, but not pretty enough to be constantly hit on. she wears a lot of media/pop culture clothing and jeans. her hair color is her natural hair color and her nail polish is always chipped.
jecka & hunter say she’s a christian girlie, so most of her outfits are more modest and toned down compared to some of the other girls. she probably wears minimal makeup unless she’s doing a show.
karen: she’s dorky and nerdy. she looks very mousy and homely. she likes twilight and harry potter + she works at a library (and is strict about the rules.) karen likes and is good at school. she probably only wears mascara and medicated chapstick, as well as her glasses. she has a messy bob that she never styles.
she’s also insecure about her body, as jecka and nicole make her relapse on her ED, so she wears baggier clothing than my of the other characters.
i think she would wear sketchers and jeggings.
anywho, i like this game and im also super into the genuine 2000s fashion, so a part of me dies whenever i see someone say “nicole listens to ayesha erotica!!” or “jecka wears affliction and bb belts!” girl bffr.
Seeing people call Emily a pixie manic dream girl has the same energy as that one time I saw someone call Nicole a Mary Sue on Twitter…..
the fandom on twitter (and tiktok and reddit) is fucking horrible i try to steer clear of them they have the worst takes it pisses me off

dont get me wrong i like the ship and no offense to the shippers but… it seems like every jeckole interpretation i see (entirely from reading ao3 fanfiction so i may be biased soz) either has nicole have way too much of a soft spot for jecka or they straight up make jecka recite ari’s speech in the rejection route. now i personally dont have a problem with the nicole side of things, but jecka is NOT ari!!!
im a much bigger fan of unrequited jeckole because 1. i eat angst for breakfast and 2. there is no way in hell jecka would ever want to date nicole. you could make a case for nicole maybe liking jecka but definitely not the other way around. anyway happy 5 days until flipside!!!!!!!!!!!! and dont let our silly opinions stop you jeckole shippers im literally a karen x kelly fan (they only exist in my mind)
yeessss i agree w everything u just said! jeckole shippers totally change jecka and nicole's personalities in fan works. it's honestly tiring like... are we playing the same game? if u need to change the characters personalities to fit ur ship then ummm maybe it's just not a good ship!
i can see nicole having a crush on jecka but i agree w u, it's definitely unrequited tbh. jecka doesn't care about nicole as much as they think she does. they're friends but jecka's definitely a conditional friend (as she should be). she won't put up with a lot of nicole's shit.

i'm not good at analyzing media but i have a feeling that jecka and nicole are just going to be high school friends after all, but i think the flipside can change my opinion? but i definitely don't want it to be through a relationship o situationship that is just fanservice, i'm sorry but jeckole feels more like that than other ships if it becomes something real.

nicole & jecka would probably not be friends after graduating hs. in a lot of endings jecka isn't even mentioned. the only reason i want them to be friends in the flip side is so that we can get more nicole content tbh even tho i think it wouldn't be realistic for them to be friends for that long anyway
and omggg i agree if they make jeckole a thing it would suuuuch fan service bc it's the most popular ship in the fandom. which sucks. and i don't get??

jeckole is okay but I'm more of a jeckari person myself. Not in a toxic Yuri way I just find it funny how Jecka was like "oh easy :D" when Ari said "kiss me" to Nicole. Emicole is also cool I like the content

emicole is about two extremely mentally ill teenage girls encouraging each other to get worse. they're both suicidal, self loathing, and sociopathic. there's no limits with them, especially on emily's side. jecka isn't mentally ill, suicidal, nor does she lack empathy. she's kinda just nicole's lackey SOMETIMES. she has limits and boundaries and can walk away from nicole if the situation is more than just hurling insults someones way. like emily wanted a suicide pact with nicole and jecka barely visited nicole in prison. jecka has too much self worth and ethics to be considered a toxic girlfriend like shes not even a toxic friend shes just. there.

i may or may not have talked about this before, but i genuinely find it so funny how nicole and emily interact during the sleepover.
girl literally spewed her heart out and talked about how she’d kill people for her, compliments her appearance and personality and everything about her being on a worship level.
meanwhile nicole is caught so off guard by all this that she immediately assumes that emily wants to fuck her (cause she’s used to how guys do anything to have her) and gets EVEN MORE confused when emily says she doesn’t.
she was perplexed. she was questioning things about herself. she was thinking ‘you know what this girl is kinda..’ and right before that thought completes itself she remembers that the two of them are gonna do a suicide pact the very next day
