Tori’s Doctor Appointment

Royce: How are you feeling?

Tori: I have been having alot of morning sickness. I need to ask the doctor when this will end. 

Royce: Did you think about what we talked about? 

Tori: I mean..... I can move in this weekend. It is just a huge adjustment for me to just up and move. 

Royce: I am not a serial killer Tori. I won’t hurt you. But I really feel like you should be with me. 

Tori: I understand but...

Royce: But what? 

Nurse: Tori? 

Tori: I will be right back. 

Tori gets checked in by the nurse. The nurse hands her a cup to pee in. 

Nurse: After you pee, leave this cup on that shelf. Then check your blood pressure and weight ok?

Tori: Thank you. 

Royce follows Tori to the blood pressure monitor. 

Royce: You ok? Why do you look like that?

Tori: This conversation is bugging me. 

Nurse: Head to room 4 when you get the reading please. 

Tori: (sigh) 

Royce: Talk to me Tori

Tori: I have been on my own for a while. I am not sure I want to .... 

Royce: And I get that. But we have a baby on the way. You have to let me take care of you. I can’t have the mother of my child out here alone. 

Tori: Royc - 

The nurse walks in to do a vaginal ultrasound and check the baby. 

Nurse: Everything sounds good. I will get your ultrasound photos printed and they will be ready at the front desk. You are 11 weeks along. 

Royce: She had a question.

Tori: What can I do about the morning sickness? 

Nurse: I will have the doctor write you a prescription. Plenty of rest and fluids. Congrats.

Royce: I am so excited! I can’t wait to be at every appointment. You are going to be a great mother Tori. 

Tori: Thank you Royce but what about what we were talking about?

Royce: My mind is made up. Let me take care of my family. Please.

Last date before Baby - Tori and Royce

Royce: You have been in a mood these last few weeks. 

Tori: This baby has been kicking my butt. I am so exhausted. I health watch goes off every hour to alert me about my high blood pressure. I really don’t think I am going to make it to my due date. 

Royce: We should go on a date. I want to make you smile. I know you’ve been having a hard time. What do you say?

Tori: I’m scared.

Royce: Of what?

Tori: I want this baby to stay in as long as possible. 

Royce: Tori come on. Get dressed. I promise you will have fun. 

Tori: Doing what? I am having fun right here in this bed.

Tori: This festival is so romantic. The decorations are so nice!

Royce: I knew you would have fun. You have to trust me more. 

Tori: This punch is delicious. 

Royce: Will you dance with me?

Tori: Uh, just for a short while. It is cold out here. 

Royce: Just one dance and then we will head inside.

Tori and Royce dance for a few minutes and then head inside the bar. 

Tori: You are full of many surprises. I appreciate you getting me out of the house. 

Royce: You need to cheer up. Everything will be ok. There’s no sense in worrying. 

A photographer approaches Royce and recognizes his celebrity status. He asks if he can take his photo. Royce declines but says they can provide a maternity shoot for Tori. 

Tori: What? No I don’t even have clothes to change into.

Royce: That is part of the reason I brought you out. I got you some clothes to wear. I want you to have your maternity shoot for great memories ok? 

Tori: Oh Royce. No. Where would I even change. No. I don’t feel like it. 

Royce doesn’t take no for an answer. He grabs Tori’s hands and leads her to the back of the bar where he has access to the dressing room. 

Tori: How do you have access back here - 

Royce: Tori, shhhhh. These are your clothes. This is a special night. Please. Do you need help dressing? 

Tori smiles and shakes her head no. 

Tori: I will be right out. 

Royce: Well you look amazing! 

Tori: I love this jumpsuit. Thank you babe. 

Photographer: How about a photo of you two together? 

Royce: Absolutely. Thank you. 

Tori: Thank you Royce. I am enjoying this.

Lunch date at community center

Melissa and Aiden slow stroll down the trail toward the community center. They are enjoying each other, laughing and staring into each other's eyes. 

Melissa: You are so funny Aiden. I really look forward to watching you coach your teams. Do you think you will be traveling or stationary? 

Aiden: Where ever my Queen is, is where I will be. 

Melissa grows quiet and stares into Aiden's eyes. He always has the right things to say at all times. 

Aiden: You know we have been out here for 30 minutes and the center is 10 minutes away. What time do they close?

Melissa shrugs. 

Melissa: The weather feels good, the conversation is flowing. What is the rush? 

Aiden: The cafeteria closes soon, the sun is going down and you are hungry remember?  Come on

Aiden starts jogging, leaving Melissa behind. 

Melissa: Babe! I can’t run!!

Aiden turns around while jogging faster. 

Aiden: WHATTTT (sarcastically) Keep Up Melissa. The place is going to close soon. 

Aiden turns and jogs backwards to face Melissa who is stumbling in her heels. 

Melissa: It’s not funny. I can’t run in heels Aiden! 

Aiden slows down. They make it to the center and Melissa plops down on the cafeteria bench.

Melissa: Whooo.... my feet. 

Melissa snatches her shoes off and rubs her feet. 

Aiden: Do you see anything on the menu you would like to eat? 

Melissa: No, I was going to prepare something for us. That food looks nasty! LOL 

Aiden: So what are you making us? 

Melissa: I was thinking a fruit salad. 

Aiden: Does the main course come later? 

Melissa looks up at Aiden and bites her lip. 

Melissa: Sure thing. So, tell me, how is practice?  

Aiden: Practice is not as intense as I would prefer. 

Melissa: What? 

Aiden: My peers play a lot. They don’t take it serious. I see a lot of goals missed, missed opportunities to pass the ball. We have lost 3 games in a row since the semester started. I am extremely competitive. The coach said I need to learn to share the ball more. 

Melissa: Oh really? Why aren’t you sharing? 

Aiden: Visually I see ten different ways I can score a goal. My peers, they miss the ball or miss the goal. I am trying to get to professional soccer. I want to go to the big leagues. It is almost as if my peers are trying to pass the time. 

Aiden: I am here to make a name for myself and take care of my family. That is it. There are some really great sponsors who come out to our games and we are losing opportunities because people are goofing off. 

Melissa: Can you change teams? 

Aiden: Ha! If I could, I would but it doesn’t work that way. Unfortunately. 

Melissa: I’m sure if you can submit video of you practicing and get that to the sponsors that would make a difference. 

Aiden: I am going to talk to my counselor for sure. Something has to change.

Tori goes into Labor

After a long week of relaxing..... Tori feels sharp pains. She is 36 weeks pregnant. She was laying on the couch taking a nap when the pain woke her up.  

Tori: Ouch... Omg Ouch

Royce comes running down the stairs.

Royce: What is going on? 

Tori: I am having pain again. I was just sleeping. I don’t know what this is. 

Royce: Do you want a massage? 

Tori: We can try that. 

Royce and Tori head upstairs. Tori leans down against her ball.

Tori: No this isn’t working. Let me sit down. 

Royce: Where is the pain?

Tori: Uh in my back. 

Royce: Are you in labor?

Tori: I am only 35 weeks. I am not due yet. 

Royce: What could it be? 

Tori: Royce! Shut up for a minute. I am going to try a shower... 

Tori waddles to the shower. 

Royce: So..... ? 

Tori: I uh...

Royce: Huh? 

Tori: I think I... (panicks) 

Royce: Tori....

Tori: My water broke when I was standing in the shower. I am in alot of pain. I think something is wrong babe can we please go to the hospital!

Aiden and Melissa : Good Morning Babe..

The breakfast burger wasn’t the greatest but it will get Melissa through until noon. 

Phone: Good Morning my love

Melissa reads the text from Aiden and smiles. 

Aiden: How did you sleep? 

Melissa was in the middle of studying and wanted to hear Aiden’s voice so she calls him. 

Melissa: Good morning babe. I slept ok. My roommate snores really loud. How about you? 

Aiden: My last class was at 8:30 PM. I then went out and practiced my soccer routine. 

Melissa: What time did you finish? 

Aiden yawns: Midnight. I am just now waking up so I am sorry about that. 

Melissa: It is alright. I am glad one of us got some rest. 

Aiden: Can we get together later after your first class? I don’t have class again until tomorrow. 

Melissa: Well, I have a 10:30 AM and a 12 PM. I also have a 2:45 PM class.

Aiden: Just let me know where to meet you. I will make sure I am rested, ok? 

Melissa has a few midterms and quizzes to study for but why not. She had been studying all morning and could use a break.  

Melissa: Be ready by 5:30 PM ?

Aiden smiles hard and jumps up from his bed. 

Aiden: Sounds like a dream. See my later my love! 

Melissa: Love you. 

(hangs up phone)

Melissa returns to her class notes but now can no longer concentrate. She is more excited about being with Aiden and can not wait to fly through her classes. She grabs her books and heads to her first class.
