I was pretty unsure since morning on whether I should go or not. And then Minghao’s text last night is giving me second thoughts. Who is doing that confession thing? I was so lost in thoughts that I didn’t even get up from the bed. I was startled when my phone rang and when I checked I saw Dk calling.

I was confused as in why dk is calling me all of a sudden and I almost missed his call.

“Hello y/n have you woken up yet?”, he spoke in his sweet voice. I am really lucky to start my day with his voice.

“Good morning dk yeah I have woken up , but why have u called so early ?”, I asked.

“Umm well I just want to confirm that you are coming or not as today is the last day of the fest”, he spoke softly.

Honestly speaking I don’t wanna go but it is my last chance to see him. I know we won’t be crossing paths again so what’s so wrong in taking this chance.

“ I am going today don’t worry I won’t miss today”, I spoke up.

“ yeaaaahhhh that’s good okay then bye see you soon”, he cuts the call then.

I got up and started doing my stuffs. I was almost ready when my phone lightened up. I checked it and saw wonwoo’s text.

Wonwoo: hey , you ready ? I am downstairs waiting.

What why is he here? I went and peeked from my kitchen window and saw wonwoo standing doing something in his phone probably playing games.

I grabbed all my things and put them in my bag I even put a hanky so that if I cry it would be helpful which I would for sure.

“Hey what are you doing here, I can go on my own”, I spoke.

“Today is a special day y/n and I am your escort so be happy that I am here”, he smirked.

Huh, escort? Special day?

“What are you talking about wonwoo?” I asked.

He started pushing me from my back and then answered,” don’t be so impatient, wait and watch but now hurry up”.

He literally kind of dragged me to uni. The uni was still pretty crowded but even more. We went to the same place where we met the first day and everyone was there except hoshi , seungkwan and mingyu. I already started feeling sad. I was looking down when Joshua spoke ,” those three have some serious work so they can’t come with us today they already left”.

“ ah okay”, I managed to speak. And then Jun came and put his arm on my shoulders,”don’t miss them we are here let’s go and have fun”. Then Dino too rushed to us and said,” yes noona let’s go and have some fun”.

So I went ahead with Jun and Dino and the others came back. I was smiling and laughing and enjoying but my heart was not okay. I was feeling hurt at least he could have said a good bye. He said me not to ghost him but in the end he did. He said he will not leave but just like others he did. Dino asked me to go and enjoy the rides but I wasn’t in the mood so I denied his offer and sat on the stand.

Minghao approached me then “hey y/n”.

“Hi” , I replied more like whispered.

“Miss him?”, he asked. I didn’t say anything I just nodded. He then continued, “don’t worry much there is something good that’s about to happen”. He patted my back again.

“You keep saying these things since last night what’s going to happen minghao , he is already gone and he didn’t even say a bye to me”, i literally yelled at him with tears about to burst from my eyes. I wiped them and continued,” do you know how pathetic and foolish I feel right now, I mean I fell for him so fast and dreamt so many useless things knowing that those will never happen. I feel so damn hopeless”, I put my face in my palm and started sobbing.

When again Minghao spoke up, “how can you say that nothing can happen, have you confronted him yet?”

I shook my head and then he continued, “Then, if you will never say him how you feel how you can say nothing happened and you don’t know future y/n”. He consoled me.

“But he is gone now and I can’t do anything”, I looked up and spoke. He was about to say something when DK came to us ,” hey you guy-“, he stopped and then looked at me and continued ,” hao what have you done to y/n why is she crying , tell me y/n what happened “, he came to me sat down.

I wiped out my tears and said,” Nothing happened DK don’t worry, I am just a bit sad that you guys are going today”.

“ awww I will miss you too y/n but don’t cry please “, he said worriedly. His voice was just so soft and soothing that I kind of felt better.

We three sat and talked , DK and Minghao were bickering and making silly jokes and that was pretty much comforting and then the others joined us. We all sat and talked and played some silly games unti it became dark. I got up to leave,” okay guys its time I should leave but I had an amazing time with you all”, I said trying to not break down.

And then Jeonghan spoke,” why so early, the main event is about to start don’t go please”.

“Yes don’t go now, and don’t worry we will leave you at your room safely y/n “, Cheol continued.

I don’t even wanted to leave and I also thought that I am not even going to see these guys again so it won’t hurt much to stay an hour.

“Okay I will stay for an hour and then I will leave”, I said and sat down and then we continued chatting. And then Vernon got up abruptly breaking our chat,” guys I left this ride I wanted to sit let’s go please”.

“Oh okay Vernon let’s go”, Cheol said. I asked to pass it too but none of them listened to me.

“Don’t be a bore y/n”, Jun said. “Yeahhhh y/n let’s go all you did today is you sat in the bench”,Jeonghan came and started pulling me.

I stood up, giving up. I understood I can’t win against them. So everyone started walking I was behind them with Wonwoo and Minghao. Minghao came a bit closer to me and whispered,” you are going to enjoy this very much trust me”, and then he giggled. Wonwoo heard it too and smiled. I was confused what’s going on with these two.

We finally reached the place but there was no one except us. And then I saw two figures approaching us and when they came close to my visible range I saw Hoshi and Seungkwan , but they already left. I was looking at them with surprised eyes but none of others were. Suddenly Minghao looked at me and said, “Finally the time is here y/n, good luck”.

I was more than confused like what is about to happen. What are these people planning? Will I be okay? Are they going to do something to me? The only person with whom I felt the safest wasn’t even here. I was overthinking like always when I didn’t even realize how close Hoshi came to me until he spoke up, “ y/n shall we go ?”.

“Where?”, I asked being scared as shit.

“Someone is waiting for you”, he said and smiled. Who is waiting, their boss? Am I getting kidnapped? If I will resist they might hurt me, so I decided to go along with him and then escape when I will get the chance.

I went along with Hoshi and asked him but to my vain he didn’t reply to anything all he did was smile. And then finally we reached a place which was the outdoor café of our uni and it was prettily lit and then Hoshi left me, “okay y/n your wait is over and good luck”. Before I can say anything he went away and another figure approached who was Gyu!

What is he doing here?

He was looking the most handsome man I have ever seen. He was wearing a suit which fits him perfectly and he brushed his hair back showing his forehead and he was holding flowers. A little bit of hope rose inside me. Is this for me?

I shook my thoughts away, I don’t want my expectations to exceed I can’t get hurt again. He then came real close and handed me the flowers and finally spoke,” Hey y/n , I know you might be in shock right now but I wanted this to be grand this is really special for me”. He smiled and damn that smile.

“What’s all this Gyu ?”, I asked as calmly as possible.

“Umm are you this dense or are you pretending “, he said and I eyed him questiongly. He laughed and said,” oh my lord, you are really so dense y/n”. And then he came close and held my hand. His face is now really close to me as he bent to reach my height and I noticed how pretty his eyes are. I couldn’t say anything I was just looking at him when he continued, “ I am proposing you y/n”.

Proposing me? Is this a freaking dream?

“Huh?”, that’s all I could manage that time. I was still unsure as in this is happening for real or not. When his voice broke my dream ,” y/n I like you since the first meeting , I don’t know why but I felt like protecting you since then and I wanted to make you mine”, he took a deep breathe then continued , “ but I was unsure how to tell you , I was scared that you might run away , I don’t know what happened in your past but it seemed like you suffered a lot and all I was thinking these days are how to make you happy”. He then looked at me and I was still silent and processing what he was telling. I was in shock that the guy with whom I fell in love is expressing how much he likes me, it honestly felt like a dream but it wasn’t.

He then suddenly knelt down holding my hands and said ,” y/n I want to make you my girlfriend and I promise you I will make you more happy than the guy you like”, he looked down a bit and then again looked at me, “ please give me a chance”, and then he stopped talking and kept looking at me.

I don’t know what to say anymore I was just looking at him and then I realized tears started coming out, he stood up suddenly and wiped my tears and spoke worriedly, “what happened y/n why are you crying?” I started sobbing badly and then I felt his arms around me and I felt comforted and after a while he pulled away and asked softly ,” y/n what happened , do you hate the idea of being my girlfriend this bad?” .

I smiled and then gave a peck on his lips to which he was super surprised and then I cleared up my throat and said, “ I am so happy today Gyu that I can’t explain in words , honestly speaking I am more than happy to be your girlfriend”, I looked at his face and his eyes were sparkling and he was smiling. I hugged him again and said, “that day when I said I like someone that was you, but I was scared and I couldn’t confess, I felt so hurt when I came today and I didn’t find you and when Joshua said you left it tore me apart. But now I feel like I am in cloud 9”.

He then pulled back and looked at my face and then suddenly he kissed me. I never felt this good ever. When someone touched me before it was unpleasant but this is weirdly comforting and I got lost in it.

You sat in the corner of the practice room, beside your group members, staring at the opposite side where your ex-boyfriend, Seungcheol sat.

It had been about half a year since you two broke up and though your days had continued to pass by, without him, you felt the emptiness in your heart, soul, and body. You weren't able to get over him and every few nights, you would miss him so much that you would have to torture yourself again by looking at your past videos and pictures with him that you couldn't bring the courage to delete.

You were just getting over him but now, that would be nearly impossible. Just being in the same room with him was making tears sting your eyes. How were you supposed to practice repeatedly for a month with him and proceed to perform a special stage with him?

As far as your professionalism could go, you knew that you wouldn't be able to do it. The love was still there, deep in your heart, and the lingering feelings were undeniable. You still loved him even after the breakup.

“It's okay,” Your groupmate said. “I'm sure it'll be fine.”

You shook your head and turned to her, holding back your tears. “How will it be fine?”

You brought your knees to your chest and buried your head to prevent yourself from crying out loud. “They hate me. It's not only Seungcheol who hates me, the members of SEVENTEEN do too. It's because I hurt him.”

“But you're hurt too,” your groupmate continued, patting your shoulder. “I know how much pain you have to deal with. I was there, on every night that you cried your eyes out missing him. Some days, you would even cry because something reminded you of him.”

You couldn't cry now. You couldn't.

Seungcheol didn't even know how hurt you were.

“What did you want to talk about?” Seungcheol asked, unaware of the words you were going to spit out of your mouth.

You couldn't be with Seungcheol anymore. Both of you were idols and of course, being idols and dating could be scandalous in the industry.

You were only a small group. Your company wasn't big and all you had to go off on was the talent your group held. You didn't even know that such a small, unknown group like yours could reach a place next to large groups like his.

He didn't even consider your status. He didn't even consider the fact that your group was small and just starting to grow. Seungcheol fell for you the second that he saw you perform. The song you performed with your group was written by you too.

He came up to you so shyly and asked for a talk that would lead to flirting, becoming friends, going on on dates, until eventually, you two began dating. You were falling in love with him as each day passed.

Your group was also gaining immense popularity. Your once partially free schedules were getting filled with performances, interviews, variety shows, photoshoots, along with creating music on the side and practicing for upcoming comebacks. You two saw each other less and less but still, your love for each other continued to burn.

Until now.

At the peak of your career, you had to make a choice, and you had decided to be selfish. Anything could take the career you and your group worked so hard on. All your groupmates ever wanted was to be recognized for their talent and loved by the public, allowing your small company to expand and give all of you better treatment. If the public found out about your relationship, your group could become known as nothing more than a group whose member used their popularity to snatch another idol. The public could be scary and you were intimidated by it.

The silence made Seungcheol afraid.

“I want to break up with you,” You said, looking at him in the eyes. “It's not because I've fallen out of love with you or anything, I just want to.”

In the middle of the parking lot, Seungcheol let out a chuckle, refusing to believe it. “Come on, don't joke like that.”

You didn't want it to be a farewell that would leave both ends feeling angry. “I'm not, I am being very serious.”

“Why?” Seungcheol asked. His voice had suddenly lost all of its emotion.

His voice was like a dagger, digging into your heart. You stared down at the ground and had to take a deep breath before you could continue. “I don't want to risk my career.”

Seungcheol stared at you as if needing a more definite answer.

You let out a small sigh. “I'm growing bigger. My dream is finally coming true. I don't want to risk it all collapsing just because I love you, okay? Can you understand that for me?”

“Was I just a stepping stone?”

“What? Of course not!” You replied. You were hoping that he'd accept your request to break up calmly but of course, he had to be angry. You couldn't blame him. “I want us to stay friends.”

“Friends... You're choosing your career over me? I've been with you since the beginning of your career. I've done everything for you because I love you,” Seungcheol was raising his voice slightly. He felt betrayed. “I'm not asking for much, love isn't about giving and taking. I supported you because I knew you could do it and by that, I mean bringing yourself and your members to the top. I spent long nights helping you write lyrics when I could have gotten sleep because I wanted to help you. I reassured you that those hate comments you receive are nothing because I truly feel like they're a load of bull. I did all that for you because of a simple reason, I want you to stay beside me, I love you, and I care for you. I cherish you.”

“I love you just as much-”

As you reached your hand out to him, he took a step back, avoiding your touch.

“Whether it's staying friends or not, as long as we're around each other, I can't change. I won't suddenly act as if we stopped loving. I can't do that,” Seungcheol ran his finger through his hair and you couldn't believe it. The love of your life slipped out of your hands and it was all your fault. You should have known. “I can't. If you're choosing your career over me, how can I believe that you love me?”

You stood still, watching as Seungcheol drove away.

You two never talked again.

Seungcheol wasn't his usual self. He was always distracted but would pretend like everything was fine. The members tried to comfort him but he'd always lie that everything was fine.

Until one day, he couldn't lie anymore. He cried to them and told them how much it hurt to have you leave him. He regretted his response to you because now, he couldn't even see you again.

“Hey Jeonghan, can you-” You walked up to Jeonghan who was on his phone at the top of the stairs, wanting to know if he could help you carry prop boxes. However, he cut you off before you could even finish. “Sorry, I have to go somewhere. See you around.”

You watched as he left. He probably hated you too. Seungkwan, Chan, Jihoon, and others tried to seem kind about it but you knew that inside, they didn't want to engage with you as well. They would only forgive you when you made their leader happy again.

You sighed and walked down the stairs to where you left the boxes only to see someone else lifting them. You smiled and hurriedly went down the stairs to greet them.

“Thank you-”

Just then, you saw their face as they made their way up the steps.

It was Seungcheol.

You paused as he brushed past you without a word, carrying the boxes with both of his hands. You wanted to help but you found yourself mute and frozen.

It couldn't be this way forever. You knew that. Maybe this small act of kindness meant something bigger. Your heart was thumping out of your chest and you didn't know what to do.

Seungcheol reached the practice room and set the boxes down. He saw the way the members treated you and though it was probably a part of their stupid plan to try and get you guys back together, he didn't want you to feel guilty over the breakup. He knew it was partially his fault too and though he was hurt by you, he couldn't stand seeing you hurt by his member's words.

His members and your members were practicing but Seungcheol could see the tension both groups had.

Seungcheol let out a soft sigh and left the practice room, his next destination being outside for fresh air. However, the moment he stepped out of the room, he was met with you. You were holding two cans of soda from the vending machine in your hands that you knew he liked.

Your eyes met and with a nervous heart, you said, “Can we talk for a bit?”

Seungcheol stared at you, your eyes captivating him. He could almost feel how he felt when he first fell for you. Like he was possessed, Seungcheol nodded.

Both of you two were sitting on green grass in the middle of a park, beside a large tree. The walk to the spot was quiet and you two decided to settle down in a spot with barely any words being spoken. He just followed you as you guided him to the big old tree where you two shared your first kiss.

“How are you?” You asked. Seungcheol was sitting next to you but not too close and not too far away.

He popped open his can of soda.

“Fine, you?” He took a small sip.

“I guess I'm okay too.”

“Without me?”

You stared ahead, feeling your heart race. Your hands were so close to each other that you just wanted to take his hand into your and hold it as you two did in the past. So, you placed your pinky on top of his while replying, “Not really.”

You didn't expect that he would reply. It would have been strange if you two made up so quickly after half a year of being apart and feeling nothing but longing, sadness, resentment, guilt, and regret.

Slowly, Seungcheol turned his head to you and replied, “Same.”

But maybe, just a bit of honesty could make it work.

“You know, I cried a lot,” Seungcheol said, turning his entire body to face you. “I was upset about what you said but I regretted it because I couldn't be around you.”

You didn't even get to reply, all you were able to do was turn your body to face him too, the tip of your feet now against his shoes.

“I was cowardly, right?”

You let out a soft sigh, staring into his eyes. “Why don't we try again?”

You firmly scooted closer to him. You always imagined that if you ever brought up a second chance, you would be bawling, but for some reason, you smiled softly. “Can we?”

Seungcheol was waiting for this his whole life.

Spending half a year without you was like hell.

Spending half a year without him only left you suffering.

“I think I value you more than fame.”

“What about your members? The reason we broke up was that you didn't want the potential scandal affecting them, right?”

“One way or another it'll affect them,” You replied. “I'll just have to take responsibility for it. I have to be selfish one way or another.”

Seungcheol smiled.

“Plus, I'm sure they'll understand. They've been there for me ever since I broke up with you.”

Seungcheol cupped your face with his hands, leaning in close to your face.

“About that second chance,” Seungcheol began. “When I kiss you, would that confirm it?”

You stared into his beautiful eyes, looking closely into the eyes of the man you missed so dearly. You brought your hands to caress his arm and slowly, you nodded, feeling tears of joy fill your eyes.

He leaned in slowly and planted a soft kiss on your lips, his hands brushing your cheeks.

Both of you knew that it would be too hard to live without each other. Both of you also knew that being together brought more comfort, happiness, and reassurance in your lives. Being apart was torture but together is like cloud 9.

It was obvious.

You loved each other too much.

It’s been almost a year since he first talked to you online.

He had visited the online forum of his favorite cafe, Café Julio, to ask why the Iced Americano he bought that day tasted different. If they had changed the coffee beans. It was a short question he didn’t think much of. He even nearly forgot about it but then he saw your reply, explaining the new beans and the huge difference in taste and quality. Wonwoo’s first impression of you wasn’t the best to be honest. Although it might have been just a normal answer to a question for you, for him it sounded a little arrogant. He just couldn’t help it. Wonwoo felt as if his teacher was giving him an ear full because he didn’t study enough and wasn’t aware of the new selection of coffee at his favorite place.

Contemplating if he should reply to you, he decided against it. Instead, he started the game he was currently liking a lot, Legends of Runeterra.

After your first encounter online because of the new coffee beans, it took another 2 months until he talked to you again. Same place, the online forum of Café Julio, but this time the topic was different. He didn’t know that you were a gamer as well. It was a surprise to find other discussions, especially about his favorite game in which you were quite actively talking with others.

So it happened almost naturally that he started to change his opinion about you. You were actually very funny, and to his liking, very clever.

CRUSH AT FIRST SIGHT {2}

[ Day 2]

Yesterday was pretty fun honestly. I woke up and checked my phone and saw two missed calls from Gyu and some texts too. I opened them.

Mingyu : hey y/n why aren’t you picking up

Are you sleeping?

Are you coming today?

When are you coming?

Aaaaa why aren’t you waking up!!!!

I smiled seeing him whining I quickly texted him that I was going and started getting ready. I picked out a pretty dress for today. I usually don’t wear dresses but I don’t know why I wanted to get ready. It took me around 50 minutes to get ready and then I left. I grabbed my coffee as regular and reached my uni. To my surprise Mingyu was waiting in front of the gate. When he saw me he rushed to me with a big smile.

“Why are you so late I was waiting for you so long? And why don’t you answer your phone, I wanted to ask you actually to go and pick you up”, he stopped cause he was breathless after speaking so much without a break. I giggled how someone can be this cute.

He spoke again, “Did anyone said how pretty you are?”

His sudden compliment kind of made me choke on air. I was looking at him speechless.

“ Aigooooo you are cute when you are surprised”, he said and patted my hair. I blushed and looked down. He continued,” by the way let’s go everyone is waiting”.

“Yeah sure let’s go”, I said and started walking hastily. One more day and then he will be gone and my bright days will end too. I will once again get into those gloomy days. We reached others and they too complimented my dress and then we planned out how to enjoy the day. Since everyone has different choices we decided to split into 4 teams so we can all enjoy comfortably.

Cheol, Jeonghan and Jun decided to go and try different games.

DK, Dino, Woozi and Hoshi decided to go watch those dance performances and other cultural events.

Wonwoo and Vernon decided to visit the video game parlour.

Seungkwan, Minghao , me and Mingyu decided on trying out different food and attend the literary fest.

So everyone went their own way and we went ours. The first place we went to was a great sushi stall and we enjoyed there a lot. We started roaming randomly and teased each other a lot. And then we all ganged up and teased Mingyu. It was literally my best day. Like yesterday Mingyu didn’t left me for a moment.

When we were sitting at a pizza place some guys kind of were staring at me so Mingyu got off and moved his chair so they can’t see. I wish all guys were like him. I tried to not think like that or else I would get hurt. Our pizza arrived and we started to eat. And suddenly Minghao spoke up, “Well kwan have you noticed anything?”

Seungkwan was surprised and replied, “ what hyung?”

Minghao smirked and we all looked at each other when he spoke again, “That Mingyu is being a little more active these days and he woke up today without even calling him and got ready first”. He looked at Mingyu who for no reason started stuffing his mouth and avoided Minghao.

Seungkwan replied, “ yeah I too am noticing him he is even smiling to himself and is humming all day-“ . He was stopped when mingyu pushed a pizza slice in his mouth and spoke” Yah why are you lying like this”, he turned to me and said,” y/n don’t listen to them they are speaking gibbereish”.

“ yeah yeah y/n don’t listen to us only listen to him”, Minghao teased and continued eating.

I looked at Mingyu who was pretty flustered and avoided my eyes. I too ignored them and continued eating. I don’t want to involve myself much or else it might turn worse for me.

They keep teasing Mingyu about being in love and thinking about some girl. All I did was eating and smiling from time to time.

After we completed we decided to return. Seungkwan was still teasing Mingyu so they were kind of walking a bit ahead and I and Minghao were walking behind them.

Minghao spoke,” y/n can I ask you something?”.

I was a bit shocked like what he wants to ask and then I nodded.

“Do you like anyone?”, he said looking at me.

“Yes I like someone but it doesn’t matter”, I said looking down.

“Umm I am not that brave and I am kind of sure too and also I don’t want him to bring into the darkness I am in”, I smiled.

“Maybe he will take you out of the darkness”, he said and patted my back. And then we were kind of interrupted by Hoshi. Who literally jumped on Minghao and spoke,” umm hmm what’s going on between you two”. He teased and then rushed to the others and then started telling others that I and Minghao are dating.

Everyone started to tease us and when we deny no one trust us.

Jun said,” I knew this they were together since yesterday, talking and smiling”.

Jeonghan came to me and said,” Aaaaaa y/n I thought you would choose me”. He pouted and I replied, “It’s nothing like that and we are not dating”.

Dino interrupted again,” Liar, I know I saw you today too you both were walking behind so you could spend time together”.

Minghao spoke up again, “Guys you are misunderstanding we are not dating. I swear”.

Everyone still didn’t listen to us and kept teasing. And my eyes started searching for Mingyu who was not there. It was kind of weird because he never left me alone for a moment till now. Where is he?

I was searching when Cheol came to me and said, “Mingyu is there sitting in that bench, go” , he pointed me where Mingyu was seating.

“Thank you “, I spoke and left.

He was deep in thoughts when I reached, he didn’t even realized my presence until I spoke up.

“Mingyu , you alright?”, I asked putting a hand in his shoulder.

“Yeah yeah I am cool, what are you doing here?”, he spoke with a trembling voice. I felt worried as in what happened to this guy suddenly.
