I have a set of triplet OCs that lived throughout WW2

The movie’s set in 1950 but WW2 ended in 1945, so I can imagine him having a lot of traumatizing visions about that

I just realised that canonically encanto takes place around the time of WW2. And that Bruno was alive for the duration of it.

Depending on how far Bruno's future telling goes if he has involuntary visions, that's a whole can of worms I am surprised no one's dug into yet.

Anyways I need to stop making and abandoning random au’s left and right anyways

Bruno being a history teacher for a highschool au I never got around to fleshing out more (adults are staff/teachers, pretty light hearted low stakes, etc)

Fair Disclaimer: I’m mostly basing this in an American school system since that’s what I’ve personally experienced middle to highschool wise so yea

Bruno in this au probably got the ‘scary’ rep among younger students since he’s usually in charge of detention but he’s actually a really chill guy who genuinely loves teaching (he does History). He’s pretty understanding and varied in his teaching methods since he knows from experience not everyone learns or sees the same, so he’s very willing and happy to accommodate !! Outside of classes he’s not really seen though and he kinda just keeps to his own room or the teacher’s area (mostly there since that’s his more private space). I picked history for him since in this au he probably has a whole thing abt why it’s important to understand the past in order to prevent the same mistakes in the future (weak tie in to his canon future-vision powers but eh I tried)

I don’t know if this is sand or salt, but whatever it is, Bruno carries it in his clothes all the time! And he’s a master at whipping it out and flinging it, he could blind his enemies easily lol (2nd gif is slowed 3x!)

Bruno x Zoey HC: When A Villager Gets a Bad Vision

A villager requests a vision from Bruno about the future of a particular event (up to your imagination), but when Bruno and Zoey do the vision in his tower, he sees just how bad the vision turns out

He practically begs Zoey to give the villager their vision with him because of the trauma from all the backlash he got in the past over bad visions. She agrees and goes with him by his side

He knew it would happen because when they explained the vision to the best of their ability, the villager began to yell at Bruno specifically, getting closer to his face the more they yelled at him before Zoey steps in between them

Bruno grips onto Zoey’s jacket the more anxious he gets from the yelling while moving with her whenever the villager tries to get near him

Zoey isn’t stupid as she can tell this was making Bruno even more emotional so she keeps standing strong before she intervenes

“Wha’ made ye think wha’ he saw was gonna be wha’ ye wanted?” She would ask in a soft, passive aggressive tone of voice, knowing more yelling would just only make her beloved even more upset and anxious over something he can’t control

Zoey remains calm the entire time until the villager starts going for her for defending Bruno, a bad omen of the village as they would claim

She 100% uses her height to her advantage when she gets defensive for Bruno even to the point of bending down to their face and giving them her death glare

“Try me. Ah dare ya.”

“But—“

“Wha’ makes ye think ei’er you er him can control wha’ he can see in dae fut’re. A fut’re ye wanted. A vision… you. Asked for. Ei’er you accept dae fut’re ye asked for… or you can see wha’ kinda fut’re Ah can give ya.”

The villager knew they were gonna be fucked if they pressed any further so they left, tail between heir legs

You bet your ass Zoey immediately turns to Bruno after she watches them leave and asks if he was alright while cupping his wet face and wiping away the tears, noticing how stressed, anxious and upset he was

Hugs him tightly, rocks him slowly, rubs his back, tells him how much she loves him, and that he can’t control what he sees while letting him cry into her shirt to let the stress out from that

“I’m sorry, mi vida. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry I got you involved...”

“No, dearie. Ye knew it woul’ happen again. Ah jes’ only did wha’ Ah knew best. I’m jes’ glad yer okay, mo chridhe.”

Bruno just knew he found the right person to help him get through all of this

Honestly I can see him being built like this

He wouldn’t 100% have more muscle due to lack of food over the years but it would still be there from all that parkour he’s been doing

Listen to me.  Bruno Madrigal has been in the walls of Casita for TEN YEARS.  He’s been parkour jumping that gap he thought was a giant sinkhole for TEN YEARS.  Do you know how much strength you need to grasp a fully grown 15 year old by just the wrist as she’s falling?  Because she let go for a hot second before he caught her.  She was already holding on to him when he fell, but he had to slide to his knees and catch her.  He didn’t say she was heavy; he said she was sweaty.  Mans had to climb up and down a metric fuckton of stairs every day for 40 years.
