When Bruno hears Zoey’s whimpering and crying from a nightmare, there’s a 100% guarantee he will spoon her and cuddle up with her so that she will know it’s just a nightmare

He’s not good with his words, so he makes up for it with his actions and love for her

He might not quite understand the pain she went through before they met, but he does understand what it’s like to experience something traumatic

Zoey and Bruno would be cuddling one night and since she has to take her prosthetic off, that would mean her nub is completely exposed. That also means Bruno would out of morbid curiosity touch it.

She normally doesn’t like it when people touch it, but she let him touch it since she trusted him, however, she still feels guilty for how she got it and would distract herself by playing with his hair. Though, they do make small talk out of it, and if he accidentally made it uncomfortable for her, he would change it to a more light hearted topic.

When Zoey asks Bruno to help take her prosthetic arm off, he originally thought while doing so was that her arm ended at the elbow. He really wasn’t prepared to see that her entire right arm was gone.

His next thought was maybe she was just born without a right arm; that was until he saw how horrifically scarred up the nub was, like she had been to a butcher and had not been treated properly.

When Bruno gently touches her nub out of morbid curiosity, Zoey stopped him after a few seconds before covering it up and holding back tears. She really wanted to tell him what happened to her but the memory was just too painful for her to recall.

He could see her reaction the whole time and realized it may have been a bad idea to have touch her scars. All he could do now was to apologize and hold her.

Bruno being a history teacher for a highschool au I never got around to fleshing out more (adults are staff/teachers, pretty light hearted low stakes, etc)

Fair Disclaimer: I’m mostly basing this in an American school system since that’s what I’ve personally experienced middle to highschool wise so yea

Bruno in this au probably got the ‘scary’ rep among younger students since he’s usually in charge of detention but he’s actually a really chill guy who genuinely loves teaching (he does History). He’s pretty understanding and varied in his teaching methods since he knows from experience not everyone learns or sees the same, so he’s very willing and happy to accommodate !! Outside of classes he’s not really seen though and he kinda just keeps to his own room or the teacher’s area (mostly there since that’s his more private space). I picked history for him since in this au he probably has a whole thing abt why it’s important to understand the past in order to prevent the same mistakes in the future (weak tie in to his canon future-vision powers but eh I tried)
