Bit of Exciting News!

Just a bit of news : For the comics class I'm attending, the lecturer said that we're attending a comics festival in my city, and for the end-of-semester assignment, each individual need to create a short comic with free themes and characters, exhibiting them at the festival.

You guessed it, I'm going to create a short comic of Jade's origin story! Of course, any Call of Duty elements will be removed (no Ghost HEUGH). It's not going to be too long, probably around 25-30 pages, but I'm really excited! ヾ(≧▽≦*)o

In response of this post, I spent the last day creating a character design sheet WIP for the characters as a requirement by my lecturer.

There are some asks of what Jade looked like as a kid and how Garnet (Eli) and Ruby (Gracie) looked like during their younger days, so here it is! And of course, the old man on the right who's the key figure of Jade's life, The Jeweler. Here it is!

The lecturer set the deadline in December which is CRAAAZYYY but that's what lecturers do, so when it finishes, you guys will also get a glimpse of the comic (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

I felt inspired by @sleepyconfusedpotato and just did it, cause, girl, Doe deserves to have her story told

(Now to get motivated to actually finish it lol)

I know last image’s lineart looks really wonky, I accidentally screenshot that bit instead of the before step 😅

Song motivations were 100% Which Witch by Florence and the Machine (specifically this version), Brutus by The Buttress (the instrumental version), and Tili Tili Bom for the story

I do kinda want to have her origin story comic to be leaning more towards psychological thriller/horror (think movies like Bone Collector, Silence of the Lambs and Black Widow with a hint of Black Swan) just to show how fucked up everything in her early life was

Depending on how many pages I do end up making, there’s no guarantee it’s all gonna be lighthearted

Anyway, I hope you like the progress shots so far!
