listened to the entirety of get to heaven (deluxe) during my drive today, and it was so good my entire week may now be better becuz of it. i win

there are a lot of players on lifesteal that aren't human. this shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. the thing is, with a lot of them, it's really not clear what they actually are. like, yeah, a lot of the time players don't fall neatly into nice categories, but usually there's something to go off of that's like, at least a little recognizable? anyway the point is rekrap [resident Boring Human] has taken it upon himself to commit investigative journalism to try and figure this out. the following are a few of his notes.

branzy:

-claims to be human

-unnaturally sharp teeth

-generally mildly uncanny

-saw his eyes glow in the dark a few times

-purple eyes + white hair (natural? contacts + dye? something else?)

theories:

vampire

>never seen him eat garlic

>has blood on his mouth weirdly often

>general feeling of not quite being right

-claims to actually be god. i doubt that.

-seems to have a far easier time manipulating code than other players do

-form sort of distorts? hard to describe

-hard to look at. hurts my eyes

-looks human when there's nothing weird going on

theories:

-??????? to be honest i'm kinda lost right now. i think he was human at some point but i'm pretty that's not still the case? need more information.

-asked him; said he's not sure. then shrugged and said "i'm printer :D"

-skin + hair are BRIGHT yellow

-blood is black and smells like ink. dries red

-face can change? and melt? and become abstract shapes? and can open into a bunch of eyes?

-halo that keeps changing shape (glows in the dark)

this investigation has led to some people having questions about him, though- apparently some people didn't think he was human? said that his eyes shined weirdly in the dark, which, okay, he can maybe believe that, but then some people said that they'd see flashes of antlers? and/or rabbit ears? plus the way he runs and jumps is apparently weirdly...animal like. so yeah, apparently there are rumors going around that he's a jakalope. which is absolutely ridiculous, because jakalopes, player or not, don't exist.

Roses and Smoke Week day 1 ficlet

The night’s air was heavy with smoke between them. Nearly obscuring Redd’s view of the pretty divine thing on the other side of the table. A candlelit dinner between them as the Ash does his best to discern Reddoons’s true intentions.

According to the rules of this date Ash wasn’t allowed to look into his human mind to find out. Redd hopes that the God complies with the challenge. The divine always think them so above humans, but Redd thinks that they’re not so different.

This ‘date’ was a meeting between minds, two people who think they’re above the rest. One of which could smite the other out of existence if he looks at him wrong.

But Redd’s not scared. He can’t make any grand sweep statements that Ash can about the nature of mankind or reality, but Redd knows how to make an offer.

”Well, this was nice; I suppose.“ Ash tells him, leaning back, creating a distance between them that gave Redd shivers.

”So we have a deal then?“ Redd smirks, Ash claimed to be unconquerable, but resources are what win a war. Supply lines and cutthroat policies.

”I think we might.“ Ash relinquishes, he frowns but it doesn’t meet his eye. In that dark purple abyss Redd sees amusement. And that had been the goal. What else could a God possibly be after if not a good time?

Reddoons stands up, offering a handshake across the small dinner table. Ash takes it, and gives it a strong squeeze. Stronger than a human grip should be; a warning to not think he’s won. Redd ignores it.

”Great, so when can I expect to see you again?“ he asks, as the air around Ash pulses, Redd wants to flinch but he’s worked to steady himself against Ash’s tricks.

”Hmm.“ Ash enunciates, making a show of his thinking. ”Same time next week?“ he winks, before disappearing in a puff of smoke.

And this is when Reddoons knows he’s won. His prize? Another date with a God. The favour of the divine. Some people say that being a chosen one is a trap, but not if you still have a spot at the negotiating table.
