Oh my god, thank u so much! ^^
As for the music... Lately I've been listening to russian artists like FlĂ«ur, or ŃĐœĐŸĐČа ĐœĐ” ŃŃпДл. Check out nine inch nails' Ghosts, if you're into ambient/instrumental stuff. And also, I've been relistening to A Thousand Suns by linkin park, which is one of my fave albums <3
Ah btw, congrats on being my first anon message lol! I appreciate it!

I should be asleep but I canât stop thinking about Ram and Johnâs reaction to it. If we Assume, as 90% of the world does, that there was nothing sexual/romantic between them, then both of these things (Ram itself and Johnâs reaction) make no sense. Ram is not cruel in its lyrics, not really, but throughout the whole album runs this very interesting thread of almost-but-not-quite taunting self-satisfaction. As someone else said, itâs very âmy wife and I are having a great time off by ourselves.â But Paul is a smart man and he knows John Lennon will see it as a taunt. So that makes it a taunt.
But again, this doesnât make sense if John and Paul were simply besties. If they were, Paul wouldnât feel the need to implicitly tell John that he has a wife now and doesnât need John anymore to make good music and good love, and John wouldnât have felt so abjectly hurt (and dare I say jealous) by it.
Also thereâs a part of this interview from 71 where someone asks John about Ram and that part is interesting but y'all have been SLEEPING on the last part of that question, when someone follows up with âand donât you have a song on your new album that could be seen as a response to Ram?â And Johnâs like well yeah, you could see it as a response to this, or it could just be about a chick I used to know, wink wink.
Bruh. Why u always comparing Paul to women in relation to yourself. Itâs like youâre literally asking people to ask you if y'all ever fucked.

paul in 2021 saying that he's happy that in 'get back' he's be able to study everything about john him saying that he recently bought a lot of john's drawings and hung them on his wall so he can look at them all the time him talking about the love songs he wrote for john and him just reminding people over and over again that john was his best friend and that he's first and foremost a john lennon fan and saying yeah, i love him i love him i love him over and over again â all of this makes me so fucking emotional man imagine loving someone so stupidly much that even when you're basically 80 and they've been gone for half of your life, they've been gone for 40 years, even then you still love them the same way you've always done because that's the kind of love that never goes away that's the kind of love that lives inside you and that's the kind of love paul feels for john and it's just so damn beautiful

Okay but imagine being doomed by the narrative and knowing it. Imagine asking, begging God for answers but knowing that he was the one who called for your death.
Imagine asking God to save you and knowing that he's the one tying the noose

I do think the majority of us should strangle the shame that lives inside of us like wringing water from the rag until we are soft and dry and weightless
So didn't realise that people didn't know about the John Lennon 1980 'dear one' thing. As we're all here though I wanted to mention that the phrase 'my dear one' potentially has a bit of a story arc when it comes to John's relationship with Paul. For those familiar with British English, 'my dear one' sticks out as it's not a used term of endearment at all. So where does it come from? It could be a non-straightforward Victorian throwback, but more likely its hearkening to the use of the phrase in Eastern meditation to denote your nearest and dearest. Great, already off to a sweet start (and lines up with Yoko having Paul on the next-of-kin list with Julian and Mimi when John died).
It POTENTIALLY gets a bit more layered than that though once you add in the idea of hugging meditation. Contrary to what Paul says (sorry Paul, I do believe you on most things, just not this) despite being 'Northern men' TM the Beatles were a huggy bunch. John mentions it in the 1967 Hunter Davies interview:
''We used to be embarrassed about touching each other. Weâd do an elaborate handshake just to hide the embarrassment⊠or we did mad dances. Then we got to hugging each other. Now we do the Buddhist bit⊠arms around. Itâs just saying hello, thatâs all.''
As pointed out in @thecoleopterawithana and @monkberries amazing posts, the Buddhist bit is hugging meditation which became popular in the 1960s. In hugging meditation, you
''have to make him or her very real in your arms, not just for the sake of appearances, patting him on the back to pretend you are there, but breathing consciously and hugging with all your body, spirit, and heart. Hugging meditation is a practice of mindfulness. âBreathing in, I know my dear one is in my arms, alive. Breathing out, she is so precious to me.â''
We know physical touch was important to John. One of the plusses of being with Yoko was being affectionate with his best friend, he tells Paul that touching is good whilst hugging him and in the Get Back sessions he delightedly asks Paul about a vivid dream where he was touching Paul (whether platonic or romantic this always read to me as a blatant subconscious desire for increased intimacy with Paul). The desire for intimacy is still present in the 'Real Life/Love' demo in 1977 where John muses about holding a mysterious has-a-baby-expecting-another-lives-on-a-farm someone in his arms as if it was only yesterday (another piece of media I still cannot believe we have on tape).
With John's evident desire for physical intimacy in mind and the focus on holding dear ones in hugging meditation, I don't think it's too far to think that John would associate this term of endearment with a certain level of both physical and emotional intimacy. Whether its a slightly bittersweet ironic recollection of those times together in the late 60s or a sincere statement of their current relationship, Paul as his dear one could be seen as continuation of John's suppressed, resentful but ultimately present desire for reignited intimacy with Paul on multiple levels (again romantic? Platonic? Choose-your-own-adventure there, I'm not in charge of you).
Or I could be talking shit. Who knows? It's just fun to think about!
How I learned to stop worrying and love cleaning
Watch youtube cleaning channels (eg The Carla Project, A Beautiful Mess, Midwest Magic Cleaning). I learned so much from watching these: cleaning techniques, but also just watching things go from dirty to clean made certain jobs feel surmountable.
Get yourself a set of products and tools. The grease around your extractor fan is a different chemical than the white deposit on your toilet rim, and a brush can reach corners a cloth can't touch. I can go into specifics in a separate post if anyone wants, or you can just follow point 1 and learn the way I did.
Don't try to blitz a room unless you're working with a team. Blitzing is the crash-diet of cleaning. You exhaust yourself, the effects don't last very long, and your lasting memory from the experience is bad enough to put you off doing anything about it. Chip away at your housework, and allow your mind to fixate on the thing that's annoying you most today and deal with that.
Set a realistic goal and stick to it. Assess your energy and time, and set yourself a goal that's doable. If you don't have the time or energy to do wash the floor and put the furniture back in, don't take it out. Ignore the voice that says "while you're here, just ..." because you might run out of energy or time, and a job half done leaves you frustrated and can be worse than not starting. If you finish the job you start and have something left, you can start another and get the satisfaction twice!
I grew up in a house that was not hoarded, but was very messy. (I often say it was the kind of house where you might say "what is that smell" for a couple of weeks before you find the source). My mother was always vocal about her hatred of housework so I never learned the skills of cleaning.
I'm also neurodivergent, and very prone to relying on the SHARP method of organisation (Stacks, Heaps, and Random Piles). Mac from Midwest Magic Cleaning in particular has helped me understand some of the psychology of my difficulties. And watching all these youtubers take homes from absolutely filthy to sparkling clean has made the idea of getting my house clean seem so much more realistic.
No one is wholesome. No one is "pure." Such expectation wears away at a person's soul. It is like handing someone a magnifying glass, and with that glass, they look at their life. The previous actions in their life. Sorting such actions into pure (precious, worth protecting) or evil (wrong, worth eliminating), and after measuring the weight of the actions, they decide if they themselves are good or bad. "Am I still pure? After looking at these actions, am I still wholesome enough to receive care and love?"
I've seen it and felt it. I recoil when I see others call people wholesome as a result. (Actions can be in good faith. That is 'wholesome'. But an entire person...?) It is a comforting word for some, however.
basically I think that if your protagonist doesnât want to fuck someone so bad it makes them look stupid, then there probably isnât enough energy in your story. âFuck someoneâ isnât literal btwâthey can want to uncover the secrets of their parentâs death, they can want to prove their worth, they can want a donut from one particular bakeryâit can be anything so long as they want it so bad that theyâll make decisions that make any sane person go âare you a moron??â, with little to no forethought, or even tons of forethought and this is still the option they chose. Because they want to fuck that thing so bad.

âNow, Kitty, letâs consider who it was that dreamed it all. This is a serious question, my dear, and you should not go on licking your paw like thatâas if Dinah hadnât washed you this morning! You see, Kitty, it must have been either me or the Red King. He was part of my dream, of courseâbut then I was part of his dream, too! Was it the Red King, Kitty? You were his wife, my dear, so you ought to knowâOh, Kitty, do help to settle it! Iâm sure your paw can wait!â But the provoking kitten only began on the other paw, and pretended it hadnât heard the question.
Which do you think it was?

A boat beneath a sunny sky,
    Lingering onward dreamily
    In an evening of Julyâ
    Children three that nestle near,
    Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hearâ
Long has paled that sunny sky:
    Echoes fade and memories die.
    Autumn frosts have slain July.
    Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
    Alice moving under skies
    Never seen by waking eyes.
Children yet, the tale to hear,
    Eager eye and willing ear,
    Lovingly shall nestle near.
    In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
    Dreaming as the summers die:
    Ever drifting down the streamâ
    Lingering in the golden gleamâ
Life, what is it but a dream?

- cherry wine is about domestic abuse. itâs now called a cute proposal song.
- too sweet is about seizing the day and ignoring healthy habits in favor of having more fun with unhealthy ones. heâs actively critical of himself in the song. itâs now called a song about thinking youâre superior for drinking black coffee.
- take me to church is about worship as a metaphor for sex. itâs called a religious song.
- eat your young is a song about war and political greed. itâs called a song about sex.
- now, the strongly political message of nobodyâs soldier is being ignored in favor of calling it a metaphor for hozierâs relationship with his fans.
when are we going to stop simplifying hozierâs music down to cute little cottagecore bogman forest music? maybe you dont want to hear this but i donât care. quit listening to hozier for the aesthetic. thereâs a reason why empire now, foreignerâs god, butchered tongue, etc. songs with unignorable political messages are among his least popular songs.
