Lookie What I Found Digging Through My Files! I Started Writing A Transformers Retelling OfA Christmas
Lookie what I found digging through my files! I started writing a Transformers retelling of “A Christmas Carol” three days before Christmas last year and I found it! It’s a lot longer than I remembered too! Here’s a little bit:
“Well, usually your guide is supposed to be someone from your past, preferably a bot that has made the same mistakes and can warn you against continuing on your sinful path.”
“Yes, and?” The ghost looked hesitant.
“Well, there wasn’t anyone for you, so I had to come instead.”
“Clearly I keep better company than –“
“No,” the ghost stopped him, “I mean there wasn’t anyone for you…at all.”
Prowl absorbed this and only stiffened slightly – not that there was much stiffer his back struts could go.
“I cultivate a small friend group,” he said quickly, remembering the quote from an old novel.
“So small there’s only you in it, mech.

CUTE! Update
I updated Cute! and wanted to share my favorite part of the story:
“Optimus had spent the worst years of Cybertronian history as an untouchable figurehead of a doomed army. He could never falter, never be seen as weak. He was distant and professional, letting only his compassion and his grief through. It had worn him down, day after day, but he had loved his people. He had endured.
Now the war was over and – even better – he was no long the great Optimus Prime. He was an adorable sparkling and didn’t you just want to pick him up and snuggle him?”
This was the second thing I wrote for the story.
Self-care is going to Starbucks and buying sugar syrup with a drizzle of coffee, Target to buy a new Transformer toy and silly putty, and then going home to write fanfiction about Grimlock eating your coworkers. Story to come.

I love drabbles and one-shots! Here’s the prompts I’m using for the story on AO3 in case anyone is curious about what they’ll be.
I love my life and I love the modern world, but sometimes I wish it was 1780 and I had an evil uncle that would lock me away in the North Tower with nothing but pen, paper, and my animal friends so I could finish some of my stories.

How the hell did I manage that?
The wordcount is now EXACTLY 123,450.
