The comfort of the covers dulls your senses, the heaviness of sleep drawing you further into the soft mattress. The room is shrouded in darkness, with only a hint of moonlight seeping through the curtains. You drift in and out of slumber until a soft creak from your bedroom door gently tugs you back from the brink of sleep, awakening you in the present moment.

A familiar silhouette stands in the doorway, and even in the dim light, you can recognize Yuuta. Oh, your lovely, darling, Yuuta. His black hair is tousled, and his usually bright blue eyes are shadowed with even somehow heavier eye bags. His usually broad and strong shoulders are slumped, and his stride is hesitant. You can feel his worry before he even speaks. Instinctively, you sit up, your heart aching at the sight of him so troubled.

“Yuuta?” Your voice is soft, a whisper in the silence of the night. He looks up, eyes meeting yours, and the vulnerability in his gaze tugs at every crack and fissure of your heart.

He steps forward, closing the door behind him with a gentle click. You open your arms, an unspoken invitation, and he doesn’t hesitate. Yuuta crosses the room in a few quick strides, and then he’s in your arms, sinking into your embrace like a man starved for solace.

You pull him close, feeling the tension in his body begin to dissolve. Your fingers find their way into the midnight of his hair, brushing through the soft strands in a soothing rhythm. He sighs, a long exhale that seems to release some of the weight he’s been carrying.

“It’s okay,” you murmur, your voice a balm against his worries. “I’m here.”

Yuuta presses closer, burying his tired face in the crook of your neck. His breath is warm against your skin, and you can feel the slight tremble in his frame as he lets go of the last remnants of his unease. Your other hand rubs gentle circles on his back, as if every touch could melt and wash away his grief.

For a long moment, the world outside ceases to exist. It’s just the two of you, wrapped in a cocoon of shared warmth and unspoken understanding. The rhythm of your breaths syncs, you heart his heart beat and you are so happy to be his home.

Yuuta finally pulls back slightly, just enough to look into your eyes. His expression is softer now, the lines of worry smoothed away by your touch. His blue eyes are clear, though still shadowed by the telltale signs of exhaustion. He reaches up, tracing a finger along your jawline, a tender gesture that makes your heart swell. You love him so very much.

“Thank you,” he whispers, his voice raw with emotion. “I needed this.”

You lean forward, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead. “Always,” you reply, your lips brushing against his skin. “I’m always here for you.”

He smiles, a small but genuine curve of his lips, and it feels like the room gets a little brighter. You guide him down beside you, tucking him under the covers and wrapping him in the warmth of your embrace. His head rests on your chest, and you continue to run your fingers through his hair, each stroke a promise of your devotion.

As sleep begins to claim you both once more, you feel Yuuta relax completely, his breathing steady and calm. In the quiet of the night, with your lover held close, you find a sense of peace that makes everything else fade away. The worries of the world can wait until morning; for now, all that matters is this moment.

Ways to hug your lover

A warm hug and a goodbye kiss you both give to each other when leaving the house in the morning.

When he is sitting on the couch, reading a book you recommended or watching his favorite films on TV, you will crawl onto his lap, snuggling with him, only to meet his fond gazes and receive a gentle pat on your head.

On a relaxing Saturday night, you both lie comfortably on the bed, legs tangled together. You will talk to him about everything or nothing, just enjoy being with him. And vice versa, he will ramble about his day while playing with your hair or just hold you close to him, drowning in your essence.

When you’re sleeping, he will always try to find a way to get closer to you than he is, like tightening the hold on your waist, burying his head deeper into the crook of your neck, and never leaving your hands.

Yuta is a light sleeper, so if you wake up and go out of bed to go to the bathroom or drink water during the night, when you return, you’ll see him already awake, pouting because you’ve left him alone, and once you place yourself on the mattress, he’ll hug you incredibly tight.

When you come home exhausted from the long day, he’ll pepper your face with kisses while slowly guiding you to your shared room, where he has prepared an appetizing meal.

Or when he’s running out of energy from harsh missions, you’ll gently stroke his back back and forth and murmur sweet nothing to his ears, praising him for always trying to protect other people, giving him the comfort he deserves.

You love every chance to touch Yuta, but the hugs you give him when he leaves for abroad missions are always your distaste. The hugs that neither you nor he wants to release, you both pull your lover slightly only to strengthen the hold on each other.

And when he comes back after months, you’ll find him standing in the middle of the crowd, outstretching his arms for you to jump right into his embrace. All you can feel is his unique fragrance, his soft voice, his fast heartbeat, everything about him that you’ve dreamed of, have craved for.

About Yuta? What can make him happier than hugging his angle after months of distancing? It’s like he’s holding a piece of heaven and you’re right in his arms, he would never get enough of your tender yet firm embrace, your sweet-like honey giggles, your passionate kisses, he would never get enough of you, all of you.

On a winter day, you’ll sit restfully in his lap while he covers both of you in a warm, cozy blanket, you two spend time doing whatever you like.

Or on a peaceful morning, your room is filled with a warm, golden glow of sunlight, you cling onto Yuta and groan “Five more minutes” when he tries to wake you up. He then only sighs and lets you sleep for “five minutes” the nth time, fondly stroking your hair and pressing pecks to your forehead.

He always knows when you’re upset, frustrated, or silently crying. At that time, he’ll hold you close to his chest, kissing away your tears, giving you constant reassurance that he’ll be here with you forever, helping you overcome your sadness.

This is my daydream about some intimate moments shared with Yuta, my remedy for the tragedy from recent chapters. Yuta my beloved, you deserve all the best 😭😭😭

When he asked who you were going with whenever you went outside, and sometimes forced you to stay at home instead of hanging out with your friends, he said he did this because he loved you.

When he wanted you to send him pictures of what you were doing every hour, every second, installing a GPS app on your phone so he could always know your location, he said that he did this because he loved you.

When he followed you everywhere you went, always being by your side, he said he did this because he loved you and didn’t want you to be in danger.

When he deleted all the contacts and social apps on your phone, he said that he did this because he loved you and he was the only person you needed.

When he went out in the middle of the night to kill nameless people who have talked to you, touched you, saw you, he said that he did this because he loved you.

When he confined you in a pretty cage at his home, so you could always stay close to him, always be at his side, always be his, and forever his, he said he did this because he loved you.

yuuta really was the perfect boyfriend.

not that this should have come as a shock to you - he was doting on you even back when you were just friends. ever the gentleman, yuuta would walk you to and from class every day, making sure you were safe and comfortable every step of the way.

"are you okay? are you cold? do you need to borrow my jacket? o-oh, your hands are f-freezing... here, let me warm them up for you."

you tried to relieve him of this obligation every once and a while, not wanting him to worry for you so much. but every time, he'd simply wave off your concerns by saying how it really was no trouble, your dorm was on his route anyways. (it wasn't. he just wanted an excuse to spend more time with you.)

when you think about it now, you feel so silly for ever doubting if he liked you back then. even before you agreed to go out with him, yuuta was already treating you like a lover.

his one and only.

at first, the love you shared with yuuta was light, airy, refreshing. somewhere between a schoolgirl crush and budding affection. the more you opened up to him, the more you felt... well, giddy! like a swarm of butterflies was erupting in your chest, leaving you weightless. his love was threatening to sweep you off your feet, and you were ready to close your eyes and enjoy the fall.

and fall you did. as weeks turned to months, you and yuuta stayed together, growing closer, more intertwined, by the day. the bond you shared still felt effortless, but somewhere along the way there was a meaningful change. maybe it happened when you met his friends for the first time, when despite all the clamor around you two, he kept his hand rested on your knee the whole night. like you were the single most important thing in the room to him.

maybe it happened during one of the lazy mornings you spent together, grabbing breakfast from the corner café or cuddling on the couch. you could see the way the hazy sunlight grazed his face, as if even it was afraid to mar something so perfect.

or maybe it happened during one of the nights nights you spent with him, intimately. after you were left spent and satisfied, lazily tracing constellations on his bare skin to map out every inch of his body. when he thought you had fallen asleep, he whispered such sweet words full of so much heart and longing that you ached.

you weren't exactly sure when things changed, truthfully. when the love you felt for him morphed from something whimsical and enchanting to something heady, intoxicating, all-consuming. no longer light, but almost painfully weighty now, reminding you of its presence with every breath you took. you knew now that a life without yuuta wasn't one you wanted. sometimes, it was just unbearable to be so in love with another person, no matter how easy it was to fall for them.

a heart's a heavy burden, after all.

but for yuuta, you'd carry it again and again.
