Random Viking Headcanons: Animals

- Harald is a dog guy. He loves dogs and brings home strays frequently. He treats his dogs like his children.  He promises that each one of his children, when he finally has some, will each have their own loyal hound to protect them and teach them responsibility, 

-  His favorite breeds are the Norwegian Elkhound, the Norwegian Lundehund, and the Norwegian Bundhund. 

- Halfdan is the opposite of his brother. He prefers cats to dogs and is the ultimate #Cat Man. Perhaps because they do not need constant attention or because they are aloof.  

- He likes to go fishing with his cats and often gives them treats. He has a band of skogkatts that live in the forest that he regularly feeds and visits. He makes sure that no one sees him being soft with his cats. Only Harald knows his secret.

- Unlike people, Ivar has a soft spot for some animals. Animals have never judged him for his disability or pitied him. He especially loves his horse.

- He has always found horses intelligent, loyal, majestic, but most of all they gave him freedom. The freedom not to be looked down at and the freedom to fight like any other man. 

- So, he rewards his horse accordingly. He brushes his horse himself not trusting others to do the job correctly. He and his horse have a special bond and specific cues when in battle.

- Halfdan is lowkey shook.  It doesn’t register on his face but on inside he’s questioning if your dog is descendent of Fenrir.

- after the initial shock. He’s tries to become friends with the dog.  He knows if the dog likes him then he will be in your good book.

 -  He’s relieved in a sense because there is someone looking after you when he is away. (also lesser men won’t flirt with you if a huge dog is at your side)

- Sometimes he gets jealous of all the attention you give your dog. He would want your attention to himself.

- He especially hates when the dog puts himself between to two of you in bed

- Ultimately, he decides to get a cat to add to your little family. Mainly in an attempt to make you jealous.

Yandere Vikings: Ubbe

- At first, he may seem harmless as he often acts as a protective older brother. However, as time progressives he becomes increasingly more obsessive. He begins to become paranoid with all the men that so much as glance at you.

-  He tries to shove these feelings down telling himself that he has been with plenty of other women and these feelings will fade, but they only become stronger.

- He is also kind and attentive to you, always playing the gentlemen. Underneath this facade, he often daydreams of all the dirty ways he can have you in bed with him. 

- He makes it clear to his brothers that he will never share you with anyone. He makes it plainly clear to your admirers that if they don’t back there body might end up in the sea.

- His kind facade deceives everyone from his true nature. So when he asks you to marry him, your family sees it as a perfect match. If anyone disagrees he has ways of dealing with them.

- Once he has you to himself, he begins to cut you off from everyone else. In his mind you only need him. Of course, there are thralls and bodyguards, but they have been warned of the consequences of getting too close. 

- He desperately wants to have many children with you.  In his mind, if you two have children together it will ensure that you will never leave him.  He has no problem using your children against you to keep you with him.

- He wants to keep as his perfect princess in a gilded cage. If that means getting rid of anyone that threatens his dream he’ll do it.

Can’t you see, I’m only trying to protect you!

I hate the way they look at you. Don’t they know you belong to me?

Yandere Vikings: Ivar the Boneless

- The most dangerous person to have fall in love with you.  He has no problem killing anyone that gets in the way of his love for you. that includes your friends, family, that guy who looked at you briefly, no one is off the table.  Perhaps he will spare your parents if you beg nicely enough.

-  He knows everything about through many hours gazing (stalking) at you. Your favorite foods, your daily schedule, who you talk to, he has planned for every possible move you make.

- When does approach you, he tries to be as charming as possible with compliments, gifts, casual suggestion to go somewhere more private. He always makes sure his brothers never get close to you. He fears that one of them will steal you away from him or you find the more attractive. 

- He builds up his own power base, building his kingdom, making it impossible for you to escape him.  Eventually, he proposes, making it clear that he won’t take ‘no’ for an answer.

- Once you are his queen, he cuts off your contact with your loved ones. Only leaving him in your life.

- Sex is often rough but he makes the pleasure outweigh the pain. Leaving your body with love bites and bruises. 

- Should every betray him, his heart would be crushed.  Making sure you would never leave him, he takes the ultimate step and kills you. In his mind, it would kill him on the inside more to see you with another than the agony he gives him when he kills you.

“It kills me when I see you with them. Maybe they need to disappear.”
