So, I was listening to Take Back The Night by TryHardNinja, and thus, an idea showed up in my head. Toons and cogs fighting not against each other, but alongside each other. Everyone fighting against one type of enemy. Shadowlings. These creatures are the very embodiment of hatred, fear and all that is negative. (They must be defeated by the shadowling's "doppelganger" in order to not harm the real version. They can manifest physically, or remain 2D)The first shadowlings show up all at once. They attack you and even cogs and cog bosses during this time, stopping any ongoing battles. The shadowlings' only weaknesses are light and temperature. This can be changed with either way such as making a room basically a gigantic freezer or oven. Just be warned that making the room a huge oven may cause harm to your toon by deducting laff points. The freezer route is the best way to go. They cannot follow you in the Brrrgh or underwater, nor can they handle attacks such as gags or gears. Usually, shadowlings stay in the darkness, or they decide to fight in the light. If a shadowling gets startled, it reacts as a toon would after defeating a cog, ducking and looking scared.

Concept:

So y'know how in hockey when a fight breaks out during a game, a member from each team just straight up hugs another member from the opposite team to prevent more fights? Imagine that but with toons and cogs. Like, they decided "Hmmmm... Today's been kinda slow, so why not go play hockey at the Brrrgh?" and so a small fight breaks out and so "Oh! Hockey rules still apply, so I guess till the fight ceases, we're stuck hugging." And what if that brought about peace because everyone's like: "Huh. Why are we even battling constantly like this? I mean, it doesn't get us anywhere and is really just a waste of time, resources and lives..."

I was playing Toontown Rewritten earlier and saw a Mingler or perhaps a Name Dropper being followed by a Flunky and that gave me some ideas for some characters because my mess of a brain said "Hey! Look over there, they're following each other. Probably friends or siblings or perhaps even a couple!"
