☀️ a gaze, soft as warm sunlight

been watching coco a lot lately and just thinking about esperanza and her family celebrating teyvat's version of dia de los muertos back in her hometown, and her sharing this cultural holiday with crepus and the ragnvindr household when she moved to mondstadt.

crepus keeping the tradition and even having a garden filled with marigolds tucked away close to the manor so they don't get trampled by slimes. having a room in the manor dedicated to the ofrendas, which usually consists of pictures of crepus' family, the older staff members, etc.

diluc being raised into this holiday, but him losing touch with it after crepus passed because the grief was too much. he can't bring himself to celebrate it or even step into the room, as he still doesn't know how to grapple with his emotions. he wants to, he really does, he feels guilty for not honoring his parents and his family, but he has a hard time going through with it.
