how-to become a better writer

1. Read.
Yes, I know that you were told about this too many times but seriously, if you want to be a better writer then you better start reading!!! Although reading can be boring sometimes, pick books that intrigue you. This way, you can focus on reading. + reading fanfics can help you too!! I started reading fanfics when I was younger and they were actually the reason why I am still writing up to these days. If you manage to dig deeper, youāll find very well written fics. I recommend to read fanfictions in AO3 or livejournal :]
Here are some books recommendation if you wanna read:
books thatāll make you laugh
books thatāll make you cry
books thatāll make you fall in love all over again
books thatāll make you wanna be in some other place
2. Keep a book. I am someone who really really loves her novels to be clean so I would keep a book rather than highlighting it and writing it down on the novel.
If you are too, then you should buy a book too!! Whatever bookā a small book, a large book, a lined book; itās your choice!! This can be very useful [it helps me!! so hopefully itāll help you guys too!!]. Hereās a picture of my book:

It was a 2013 monthly planner book [pls donāt laugh @ me] and because it was thick and the paperās quality is very good, I decided to use the book for writing/reading purposes.
3. Love it? Write it down! I am pretty sure I am not the only one who find a few words in a book that Iād really love to tattoo on my skin, am I right? If you happen to find sentences that you love, write it down. This will help your writing skills.Ā
As for me, I would have two sections for this.
ā½ When I read a book, I would jot down the title and then list down every sentence that I really like or find useful. Sentences that has a few highlighted words indicates that I do not know or do not understand the word; thus Iād highlight it and find the meaning of the word, like this:

ā½ You know how sometimes you read something from somewhere and you like it and you really wanna jot it down? As for me, I would place those sentences under #COMPILATION.

3. Donāt understand? Write it down! I know that this can be exhausting and all, but trust me, this will help you a lot [I say this a lot havenāt I]!!! You may be thinking, āAh, I do not know the meaning of this, Iām just gonna search the dictionary and not write it downā NO!! Of course you will know the meaning, but it doesnāt mean youāll remember it, donāt you? Besides, you can always refer back to your book if you do not remember the word!! (āāæāāæ)
4. Learn new word everyday.
you can start by clicking here!! (ć„ļ½”āāæāæāļ½”)ć„
or here (ā¢ĢŖāāā¢ĢŖ) ā„ Ā
5. Start writing. Obviously, if you want to become a better writer, why would you just laze around?! Open your microsoft word [or note, if youāre using apple] and begin to type! Iām sure you have a plot in your head; who the hell cares if itās not planned? Just write it! You donāt have to begin with an introduction, you can start writing from a scene of the story you want to write. If youāre satisfied with your writing, save itā you might want to read and edit it again in the future. **For those who are very serious in becoming a writer, then of course you guys have to plan everything first. You donāt want to have writerās block!!
6. Start now. What are you waiting for?? You can do this, I believe in you!!! (ą¹Łā¢ĢĪā¢Ģ)Ł + if you are feeling demotivated, click here :]
i rly rly hope that you guys will find this useful! i rly wanna contribute something to the studyblr community!!! i hope you guys have a wonderful dayĀ ā”Ā
The 5th Wave Review
Rating 4.5 I this is simply amazing. This was actually my first time reading something sci-fi based, and now i'm totally into the genre. The book contains a lot of betrayal, and twists. If you're into romance mixed with action, this is the perfect book for you. Is it wrong that this book actually gives me the feels of fascism? That's all i've been getting when the author describes the scenes and the actions. I'm going to break down my review into three parts: SPOILERS AHEAD!! Characters The characters in my opinion were actually really realistic. Cassie is a character who is very determined, stubborn, and has trust issues - but can you blame her? Her development over the story has really shown. She went from a normal girl to a girl who was on a mission to save her little brother from The Others. Heroic? Yes. Terrifying? Hell yeah. The other main character in this book was Ben. At first, we were introduced to Ben as a guy who was from Cassie's school. Now Ben is the guy who had gone from a change from the all-star football player, to the leader of a group-that-really-was-killing their own kind. Ben displays leadership skills, but he also shows compassion (which was seen through 'Nugget' aka Sam). I would really love to continue to read the series and hear more of a backstory from Ben. Plot The plot is actually really good, and the author really progressed the plot a yet slow, but not too slow pace. Enough to make you think each chapter. I love the world-building, as I got to see how each part affects everybody differently. The description in the book is just perfect. Not too much, but not too little. Writing Style If you don't like a book that switches POV's each 'break' i'll call it, then it might not be for you. At first I was actually confused on what was happening (I even had to search it), but really, it make the plot completely better, and the characters more complex. I think Yancey really nailed each character's dialogue perfectly, it matches their personality. The only thing is sometimes I was in another point of view, and I just wanted to skip Ben's or Cassie's, and go to the opposite person. First person really makes me feel close to the characters, but I felt like I was Cassie or Ben. I understood them. Overall, I am definitely going to read the second book! I recommend this to anybody because really, this is an amazing book, and it's something you don't want to miss out on.Ā
