[ presence ] - receiver is upset, and sender is - simply - present. they put their hand over receiver’s, or they sit beside them so their shoulders knock, or they link fingers, or they just barely toe at receiver’s shoe so they’re reminded they’re not alone.

When the whumpee isn’t used to people caring about them or comforting them, so when the caretaker finds them crying and immediately hugs them, they have no idea how to react. The caretaker holding them gently and rubbing their back until the whumpee relaxes and starts to cry harder, then staying there and whispering comforting things to them until they calm down. The whumpee ending up falling asleep in the caretaker’s arms, too worn out from crying to stay awake, and the caretaker carrying them to bed. The whumpee waking up a few hours later to find the caretaker waiting at their bedside with a glass of water for them, and asking the caretaker why they’re being so nice. This question breaking the caretaker’s heart, and them telling the whumpee that they deserve to be cared for, then hugging them again.

I considered that when designing my Frontier OC. Much more beastly Beast Spirit was my aim.

Shutumon / Zephyrmon I have done as something relatively easy to practise.

(personally, I prefer the name Zephyrmon by a landslide)

And let me take this opportunity to post a hot take on our badass winged wind lady. First, lemme say that I do like her design. (except for that unnecessary belt hanging down her back; I almost forgot it, then decided to actually leave it away.) However, she is the one not fitting among the Beast Spirits. It's already in the name. BEAST Spirit. For that, Zephyrmon just looks way to human. Of course, her looks fit well for the story during her first appearance (where Ranamon gets jealous because Zephyrmon is the much prettier Beast Spirit than Calmaramon). However, as a Beast Spirit, she should probably look a lot more bird-like. Because again, she looks like a winged woman when she's a Beast Spirit. Everyone else looks much more animal-like, after all. Takuya's a dragon, Koji's a wolf, Koichi's a lion, Tommy is a badass, axe-wielding bear, and J.P. is... that machine-lightning-beetle thingy. Even the "evil Spirits" have more animalistic Beast Spirits. Again - I do like this design. But Zephyrmon just sticks out that way. And I can't help but wonder what a more animalistic, bird-like Beast Spirit of Wind would look like.
