So ApparentlyTHE RISE OF SKYWALKER Means That The Last Of The Skywalker Bloodline Die And The One To
So apparently “THE RISE OF SKYWALKER” means that the last of the Skywalker bloodline die and the one to rise is someone completely different who just takes their name, because she doesn’t like hers.
So what you’re telling me is that what Shmi Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker, both Luke and Leia and even Ben went through and accomplished means nothing.
Shmi, giving her son up, so that he could do good and be safe and have a life and be free and then dying, maybe as a part of the plot to turn her son to the darkside;
Anakin, growing up as a slave, then being taken from his loving mother to some place where people were either scared of him, some perhaps jealous of him and some completely disregarding him; watching his mother die every night in his visions, only when he finally finds a way to her, watching her die, because she was tortured to death, and watching as she struggles to tell him, she loves him and fails; losing his padawan, because the jedi council cared more about politics than one of their own and the truth; being under constant stress because of a war and the pressure and then another visions of the love of his live dying in childbirth, which gives it even more inevitabiliy; all this while fighting off a sith trying to lure him to the darkside for over a decade and resisting bravely for so damn long; being the one to cause the death of his wife; turning to slave once again and becoming everything he hated for nothing; dying and finally managing to both fulfil the prophecy and save the person he loves;
Luke, never knowing his parents and being raised by his uncle and aunt, who die horribly; watching the last person he has left, a teacher, to die too; fighting for the rebellion against an empire that rules the galaxy; wanting to save his friends, failing, getting his hand cut off and learn the fact that the fearsome sith is his father; witnessing another teacher to die; fighting again, almost losing, being tortured and almost killed with the only weapon he has, being the faith in the good he sensed in his father;
Leia, also never knowing her real parents and being raised as a politician, which she hated; doing the risky job of a rebel since a very young age; being tortured watching her homeworld being turned literally into ash with the help of someone she would later learn is her father; looking as the man she loves is being frozen to be a wall decoration; being turned into something that is obviously meant to be a sex slave; losing her brother the moment she learns she has one only to maybe never see him again; leading an attack that might be their last chance, last spark of hope for the rebellion;
Ben, being separated from his parents to become a jedi; during his training instead of making his parents and uncle proud, being targeted to became a pawn, a servant, probably fighting as much as he could and yet failing; waking up only to see that the darkness in him scared even his own uncle so much, he thought to kill him for a second; thinking he is not enough, because there was light in him; finally breaking out of his chains only to realize he isn’t free at all yet; managing what only his grandfather accomplished and refusing the darkness completely at last to return to the light for the memory of his parents; fighting the man that almost destroyed the galaxy and his family before;
After leading the galaxy one way or another - Anakin first as a hero, being the one doing all he could to save the republic; then as Darth Vader, the terror-bearer spreading fear into the enemies of the emperor; Luke and Leia, restoring the galaxy with the new republic, Ben as Kylo Ren, ruling the first order - the Skywalkers are diminished, belitteled, disregarded and degraded and they mean nothing.
Their accomplishments and failures, victories and losses
it all means nothing
in the shadow of Rey Palpatine who decided to take their name.
The last Skywalker dies, their family falls, their blood disappears from the galaxy and yet here is the name The Rise of Skywalker telling us, that she is the Skywalker to rise. That the family of the Skywalker blood, which did to the galaxy as much good as they did bad, dying, means nothing, that they mean nothing.
That the name is nothing and always has been nothing until Rey took it. That nothing has changed since when we first met Shmi and Anakin - they all meant as much as the first Skywalker to her surroundings - nothing, but tool and merchandise for both the jedi and the sith.

She was very beautiful. Kind, but sad.
