After some browsing, I found that not many people post about things related to UX fields here.

Well, there are other platforms that are more popular and effective for showcasing UX portfolios/works. But, I just thought that it'd be fun to share my daily little UX writing exercise here bc it doesn't have to be too intensive.

Hmm 🤔 Should I keep doing it, or..?

Menyelami Jiwa (Miniatur Jiwa-Jiwa Manusia di Sekolah ASD)

“Kita memijak dunia yang sama, namun apakah kita benar-benar hidup di dunia yang sama?” Mungkin ini yang ingin dikatakan oleh anak-anak penyandang autism spectrum disorder (ASD). 

Anak-anak ASD memandang dunia dan berinteraksi dengan lingkungannya dengan cara yang berbeda. Mereka cenderung sulit memahami lingkungannya. Begitu pula dengan orang-orang di sekitar mereka, banyak yang sulit memahami mereka. Oleh karena itu, mereka lebih rentan dari segi kesehatan mental. Studi menunjukkan tujuh dari sepuluh penyandang ASD mengalami gangguan kecemasan, depresi, attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), atau obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) (JL Matson, 2007).

Melihat teman-teman ASD di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) seperti melihat kompleksnya dunia manusia. Dunia terkadang terasa asing, sulit dimengerti. Manusia lain bahkan seperti makhluk asing, saling tidak bisa mengerti. Kamu berusaha keluar dari masalah, namun kesulitan, hingga merasa tertekan. Kamu ingin meminta solusi, tidak ada yang mengerti, bahkan dirimu sendiri. Kamu merasa sedih dan marah, hingga menggangu kehidupanmu. Namun, jika kamu bersabar dan membuka mata, selalu ada ruang kebahagiaan. Ada pada hal-hal kecil yang bisa kamu nikmati sendirian, atau manusia-manusia yang berusaha menyelami jiwa. Meski tidak ada yang bisa mengerti kamu dengan sempurna, yang berusaha menyelami jiwamu selalu terasa hangat ke dalam dada. Seperti hangatnya perhatian guru-guru di SLB.

“Tidak ada yang menginginkan anak-anak kita (terlahir berbeda) seperti ini, tapi tuhan yang menitipkan. Jadi harus kita terima. Kalau bukan kita yang memberikan perhatian kepada mereka, siapa lagi,” ujar Indrawati, kepala sekolah SLB Autisma YPPA Solok.

After some browsing (again), I found that Tumblr is not the best place to post original fiction as well, unless you're writing for a certain fandom or community.

Hmm.. I guess I'll just stick to the productivity side of Tumblr? 🫡🤔

You should never have shame about your academic journey. It's a journey. You're growing and learning. You're going to face challenges alone for one of the first times in your life. Shit's hard. It's ok to struggle.

I haven't had a pretty journey at all. I'm graduating with a bachelor's degree at 25. I've been in college nonstop since I was 18. I've failed a lot of classes and had to go part time. So many things have happened. But I will have the degree. And that degree is worth the exact same as someone who got it in 3 years. The knowledge I have is mine to keep.

How I got here doesn't matter. I'm here. I am going to graduate in a few months. I have won this chapter of my life. And to those who try to shame me for how I got here and how long it took, I pray that you never experience the things I have that have made it take long. May you live a life of comfort and luxury and have hands soft as silk until you die. And hopefully I will get the same grace from the universe eventually.
