I know I sound like a broken record by now: repeating the same things others have said before but I think banality of it all is the point of my post. The fact that I have nothing new to say– not about the genocide in Gaza, not about the dwindling attention of allies, is HORRIFYING.

It has been 11 months of a genocide that the UN calls “war on children”. Malnutrition, diseases, lack of suitable medical care have caused Gazan children to lose their childhood; to lose their lives entirely!

There is no hope left for a future unmarked of pain and my friend Siraj Abudayeh ( @siraj2024 ) , who is father to three sons describes it as a “feeling of oppression”.  He laments that his children have been forced away from their schools, hopes and dreams  by colonizers and where before there were ambitions to excel in either studies or sports, all they know now is helplessness, fear and anger.

Siraj has told me how his children- Abed, Muhammad and Amir have confessed to their father about how they have begun to  feel guilty for surviving at all now ; after having lost so many of their friends to the genocide they are experiencing survivor's guilt and it breaks my heart to hear that. Abed, the eldest son, is ONLY ELEVEN!!  Can you imagine an eleven year old feeling guilty because he has managed to survive while his friends haven't ? And what kind of survival it is– Half starving, drinking unclean water, forced into tents where sand mites pester him throughout the day?

I am not sure what happened or why the engagement with fundraisers has dropped so drastically lately but there is nothing more atrocious, more horrible than apathy when children are suffering.  It is so strange that we can quote James Baldwin so easily and yet have failed to understand what he meant when he said,

"The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; ...whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality. ”

We have the power that is not afforded to Gazans and therefore it is on us to be attentive no matter how repetitive these posts feel. It is ridiculous and dehumanizing that during a genocide one has to worry about making a post original enough to maintain attention. And yes I know that we won't be able to stop the horrifying banality of Israel’s evil in a day but WE CAN help provide FIVE families that are dependent on this fundraiser with a lifeline during times such as these.

Please we have managed to get this far after struggling for so long, it cannot be that we will fail Siraj when he is so close to the end goal of 82k !!

So DONATE AND BOOST. Find it in yourself to not just reblog but circulate the fundraiser among your colleagues, friends and family. Share it in your whatsapp chats and discord servers. Share it on every other platform that you may have a reach on.

Currently at $72,987 CAD of the short term goal of 75k. We have 2k left to raise by tomorrow.

“i don’t even like taylor swift but-” this may come as a complete shock to some of you, but you can condemn a planned terrorist attack without bringing your thoughts on taylor into it. these attempts at virtue signalling are just unnecessary.

Alright. Normally I don’t ever get involved with things like this but because some people lack basic human decency, it has to be said.

If you have nothing nice to say, don’t fucking say it. If you don’t like an artist/fandom/etc., block, mute, and move on with your life.

Because of hateful and misogynistic rhetoric, a dance class in Southport was targeted, and now a planned attack on the Eras Tour in Vienna almost happened had it not been for interference. These are innocent people (mostly young girls) that are looking to enjoy their favorite artist, and because of violent misconceptions on the internet, teenage boys are now thinking it ok to attack them. The latest report said that one of the Vienna conspirators was “radicalized” by the internet to attack Taylor and her fans.

I really don’t care if you love or hate Taylor, but if you think it’s ok at all that things like this go unchecked or are even part of the problem, the block button is right there 🫶.

Additionally, if you’re using these attacks to be islamophobic, you are also not welcome here. And you don’t need to announce your departure.

Stay safe, and I’m deeply sorry to the Vienna swifties who spent thousands of dollars to see their favorite artist and now can’t because of this.

the thing that terrifies me about this entire situation is… imagine if they didn’t find out. i just think about taylor, the band, the dancers, and all the fans we could’ve lost. and we could’ve just be on a livestream watching all that go down. it’s terrifying to even consider what could have potentially happened if authorities didn’t find out about the terrorists’ plans.

it’s honestly appalling to me that people are using the situation in vienna to justify spreading hate towards muslims. anyone with a brain can figure out that isis does not represent the beliefs of muslims. if the would-be attackers were christian would everyone start turning against christians?? no! the sad reality is that bigots are jumping on this situation to use it as an excuse to spread their hatred towards islam even further.

taking all my american followers by the shoulders. listen to me. just because you have a more promising candidate now doesn't mean you just assume it's going to be fine and don't bother voting. assuming trump wasn't going to win is how you got here in the first place so you go out and fucking vote for harris and give everyone a fighting chance.

also if you're still in the 'they're both as bad as eachother' delirium, please take your head out from between your cheeks and consider that your options are an imperfect president and the literal worst person alive who is going to get masses of people killed. i've said it like this before, but it's like deciding between maybe getting food poisoning or definitely having a brain aneurysm. take your pick i guess but don't be surprised when you drop dead.

While we’re on the topic of the Olympics. I’m fuming about how Imane Khelif is being attacked. Imane is an Olympic boxer from Algeria. For context. Imane is a cis woman. She was born with a female reproductive system. Imane found herself boxing an Italian boxer who forfeited the match and called it unjust. That she had never been hit that hard in her life. Now people are reporting on this event and the amount of transphobia in the comments is BAFFLING. J.K Rowling tweeted about it being transphobic(per usual). So many uninformed/uneducated people are upset about it screaming for Imane to be disqualified or for the next person to boycott. Imane is being misgendered constantly. It’s so upsetting to see. Yall are so proud of Michael Phelps for literally being an anomaly. He has a lung capacity 150% larger than the average swimmer, lactic acid does not cause him soreness or stiffness, and has double jointed ankles!!!! He’s praised for his biological differences that have allowed him to dominate swimming at the Olympics. People aren’t mad that Shaquille O’Neal is 7’1 and at a genetic advantage over other men in the NBA. He’s praised. Meanwhile Caster Semenya(another intersex athlete) was barred from the Olympics because of her natural hormones!! In order for her to race against she will have to medically reduce those natural hormones to make it “fair” for other athletes.

fucking hate it when the stuff everybody says "actually works" does actually work.

hate exercising and realizing i've let go of a lot of anxiety and anger because i've overturned my fight-or-flight response.

hate eating right and eating enough and eating 3 times a day and realizing i'm less anxious and i have more energy

hate journaling in my stupid notebook with my stupid bic ballpoint and realizing that i've actually started healing about something once i'm able to externalize it

hate forgiving myself hate complimenting myself more often hate treating myself with kindness hate taking a gratitude inventory hate having patience hate talking to myself gently

hate turning my little face up to the sun and taking deep breaths and looking at nature and grounding myself and realizing that i feel less burdened and more hopeful, more actually-here, that i am able to see the good sides of myself more clearly, that i am able to see not only how far i have to grow - but also how much growth i have already done & how much of my life i truly fill with light and laughter and love

horrible horrible horrible. hate it but i'm gonna do it tho

ACOSF, except that Nesta refuses to move to the House of Wind and packs her bags to leave to the "human lands", but instead of actually going there, she stops at the Spring Court and kinda forces Tamlin to take her in. After all, Spring is close enough to the human lands and she's sure none of the IC would look for her Spring.

She and Tamlin clash at first, but then Nesta tells him that Feyre wanted to lock her in the House of Wind for "her own good" and Tamlin has to take a walk outside the house to not break anything because what the fuck? Those people haven't forgiven him for locking Feyre up to protect her and make him miserable because of it, but suddenly it's okay when they do it? Unbelievable.

They drink together and bond over the Night Court's hypocrisy, how they were treated by them, and Feyre. They start living together. Tamlin plays the music and Nesta dances to it. They spend time in silence in his library or taking relaxing strolls around the garden. Nesta does more healing there that she could've done in the House of Wind. Eventually, she and Tamlin become good friends.

Oh, and she meets Eris again and they actually get to know each other outside the Night Court's machinations. They have a slowburn romance and get married eventually, turning Nesta into the High Lady of Autumn. She helps Tamlin rebuild his court and strikes an alliance between both courts, and she thrives with positive relationships and a man that genuinely loves her and doesn't try to change her.

Also Lucien makes up with Tamlin and returns to Spring, adding him to Nesta's friendship circle.
