2 de 7 de mis predicciones de los Juegos Olímpicos de Sochi 2014 ya se cumplieron (y eso que los juegos aun no inician)

América Móvil (la empresa de telefonía de Carlos Slim, el hombre mas rico del mundo) compró hace 7 meses los derechos de transmisión exclusivos de los Juegos Olímpicos de Sochi 2014 y Rio 2016. En su debido momento hice una lista de pronósticos positivos de lo que iba a pasar, pero obviamente no pude probar que ninguna de esas cosas iban a suceder.

Lo menciono ahora porque UnoTV (una red de noticias por internet que también es propiedad de Slim) anunció que transmitirá los juegos invernales de Sochi en internet y en el Canal 22 de México. En contexto, el anuncio es importante: el Canal 22 es un canal de televisión pública muy orientado a la difusión cultural... lo cual se explica al considerar que es propiedad de Conaculta. Como es de esperarse, un directivo del 22 ya prometió que "le vamos a subir varias rayitas al aspecto cultural en las transmisiones." Canal 22 publica muchos de sus programas culturales en su canal de YouTube. Si tienen rato para ver solo un programa de la lista, vean cualquier episodio de La Dichosa Palabra.

¿Saben lo que todo esto significa? Que con eso ya se cumplieron 2 de los 7 puntos de mi lista de predicciones: "Transmisión web gratuita SIN bajar programas raros en tu computadora o dispositivo móvil" y "Información cultural decente sobre las sedes olímpicas".

Conociendo a UnoTV, la predicción 3 ("SMS gratis acerca de todo, con todo y para todo") se cumplirá sin previo aviso tan pronto inicie Sochi. Del resto no tengo idea si se cumplirán o no. Pero no tengo prisa en averiguarlo. Igual y acertarle a 28% de un evento que aun no sucede sin siquiera intentarlo ya es suficiente buen mérito.

Estos datos son totalmente reales. Después de todo, a mi me atropelló un auto en 2012 y ese mismo año México ganó la medalla olímpica de oro en futbol. A lo mejor lo que nos falta para que México gane el Mundial es que atropellen a alguien más. ¿Quién se ofrece?

Of course Civ would do swimming if he was at the Olympics. The question is would it be diving or proper swimming?

I would've made this earlier in the Olympics had I had time, but oh well.

I was looking at the 2012 Olympic team and of course, when it happened I thought they looked so old and mature and talented and now that I’m older than them, THEY WERE BABIES AND ALSO CRAZY TALENTED

Half of the programs these days you catch your eyes wandering away only to return when they perform a jump!!

Of course the jumps are incredibly important and entertaining to see pulled off well,, but presentation is half the score!!

✨Here’s my problem with Figure Skating nowadays✨

It has become nothing but a jumping contest. In women’s and men’s both, the skater doesn’t even need to be artistic, if they land all their jumps it = high scores/world records. EVEN if their jumping techniques are wrong and questionable (and dont even get me started on the biased judging and favouritism because the skater doesn’t get called out for their bad techniques.)

What happened to figure skating when it was about artistry, performance, skating skills, edges, etc? Very few skaters are still beautiful regarding their skating skills and captivating views and they are the skaters that people remember, such as Yuna Kim, Jason Brown, Yuzuru Hanyu, etc.

I’m not trying to diminish the hard work that these skaters go through to get these jumps and how difficult they really are. But figure skating has completely put it’s meaning of artistry on the backseat and favourited jumps over anything

If anyone wants to add onto this please do, it’s just a little rant of mine that I’ve noticed the figure skating world become over the years 💔
