Request: Hey! So Miguel Is My New Obsession And I Would Just Love To Request This: So Miguel X Male Reader
Request: Hey! So Miguel is my new obsession and I would just love to request this: So Miguel x male reader where the male reader reminds miguel of his daughter so he's overprotective and take son a fatherly role. I was thinking either that the reader gets hurt and Miguel accidentally calls him Gabriella so angst, or it's just a second chance for Miguel to be a father for a kid that needs it
ARAÑITO
- Miguel O’Hara & Child!reader
- Genre: Platonic fluff
- Synopsis: Jessica and Miguel decide to take you back to HQ for recovery, but with the slow process, Miguel grows a bit too attached to allow for you to leave his sight. Talk about fatherly instincts.
- A/N: Reader can be depicted as any age, though is written to be relatively in his teenage years. The Spanish used is from google translate, my apologies for any mistakes! If any Spanish users would like to correct anything, please do!

Jessica was the one to find you. Up against a vulture far from your own. Grotesque teeth exposed by an uncanny snarl. A thick substance, that could possibly be identified as saliva, dripping down onto his face as he was pinned beneath heavy talons.
Hushed and rapid wheezes and curses slipping past busted lips. The taste of metal heavy on your tongue as you grasp onto the heavy ankle, desperately trying to remove it from your collapsing chest. Weak pleas being spat, no clue as to whether they were aloud or echoing throughout your thoughts.
Vision spotting and a sense of doom filling your gut, your body gave out and you lied limp. So close to death that you simply accepted it.. until…
A large blur of blue and red tackled the man off of yourself. Leaving you to jolt up wheezing and coughing. Tears welling up in your eyes as the pregnant woman soothed you. “Sh, sh, shh.. we’ve got you now. Gonna be alright.”
Miguel works hard to take down the vulture, pinning him down with large claws and an open jaw. A similar state as to what the creature had you into before, only less patience as he locks his jaw down in a venomous bite.
Of course, by the time he’s finished, you’re unconscious after having the adrenaline wear off. Slack body held in Jessica’s motherly hold as she gives a knowing look towards the larger man.
“You can’t be serious,” he groans, walking past her and opening a portal.
“He’s injured Miguel! We can’t just leave him here.” She argues in turn, scolding the man. “He’s just a kid..”
The man pauses, slouched over and running hands through his hair as he groans. “Fine, but only for recovery.” He mutters, to which Jessica happily carries your unconscious form through the portal.
════════════════
The moment you wake up, you’re disoriented and blinded by bright lights. It’s all overstimulating; the lights, the constant beeping, and the static like touch all over your body.
It takes a moment to gather your surroundings, whining softly as you anxiously look around. Shaky hands lift up to try and remove the nasal cannula, only to be stopped by a much larger and warmer hand.
“I don’t suggest removing that, it’s helping you breathe.” You don’t know who this man is, but his words are gentle and you simply relax back and leave the tube alone, it’s better that way. “You fractured a few ribs in your fight, bruised a lung, but nothing aggressively serious.” The stranger huffs, seemingly checking the bandages that wrapped around your torso.
“W-who…” Your throat is sore and dry, it hurts to speak with the conditions. Your words puffed out with a wheeze and wince.
“Miguel O’Hara, head of the spider-society.” The stranger introduces himself, sitting back with a grunt. “You’re only being kept here because of your injuries. As soon as you’re healed, you’re gone.”
Such manners he had, you thought with a small glare. You didn’t need someone to take care of you, let alone someone who hated you from the start.
This was already the worst thing you’ve ever dealt with.
════════════════
It had been a couple days now, your recovery going slow as you remained bed rested with little movement. Today was Jessica’s day to check on you, but rather the warm woman, you were met with two younger men.
“So you’re the mystery spider!” The smaller of the two cheers, eagerly rushing up to you. “Miguel refuses to let anyone see you!” His energy big, like that of a puppy’s.
The taller, more punk-themed man stepped forwards, tinkering around with some of the many machines. “‘Course, we’re not ‘onna listen to that old bloke.” He mumbles, finally making his way over. “‘m Hobie, Hobie Brown.”
You only watch, eyes drifting over to the former man. “Pavitr Prabhakar!” He cheerfully informs, poking around at your IV’s and breathing support.
Eventually the nimble fingers cause your IV to slip out, causing a wince of pain from yourself. And as scary as it was, Miguel himself appears in the doorway. A nasty scowl on his face as he glares down to the younger men. “Pavitr, Hobie, our.” He practically snarls.
For someone without a spider-sense, he was scarily good at sensing when something was wrong. Perhaps his AI, you thought, glancing towards his watch as though it’s where she was kept.
With the two strangers gone, it’s just you and Miguel. He’s pacing, pinching the bridge of his nose as he goes on about something. “¡Le dije a Jessica, le dije que no los dejara acercarse a ti! ahora estas herido..”
You’re not quite sure what he’s on about, but he seems upset with himself. He spares an apologetic glance your way, walking over and gently caressing the skin from which your IV was pulled.
“This is going to sting, arañita.” He coos in a tone you’ve never heard before, holding down on your arm as he slips the IV back in. Hushing and coddling you as you whine in pain. The flinch you give only causes more pain from your ribs. Tears welling up as a bodily reaction to the pain. “I know, I know.. hurts, doesn’t it, arañito?”
You’ve never seen this side to him. It almost feels like trap. Luring you into a false sense of trust only to tear you apart..
Your small cries cause him to hold you close against his chest, whispering about how brave you were. It felt fatherly, almost. Something bitterly familiar. You never did have a good relationship with your own father.. maybe this was a second chance?
════════════════
Days turned into weeks. Your recovery a slow process, but you were improving. You were allowed to walk within the medical room, though Miguel refused to let you leave his sight. You were only allowed to explore alongside him, told you that he had to “keep you safe”.
You usually obeyed his wishes, but the boredom was just so aggravating.. it wasn’t like he would know either way. So, you left the room, stumbling along halls and bridges in search for something fun to do.
You near scream, as though you could in your condition, as a masked horse mindlessly knocks you to the ground. The cowboy atop seemingly panicked as he begins anxiously apologizing, but it’s not you he’s speaking to.
An all too familiar shadow peers over your small, ‘fragile’ form. Above you, Miguel stands with a menacing glare. He does not at all seem happy about the incident, or your little ‘escape’.
“Get that damn horse under control, cabron.” He practically snarls, immediately pulling you into the comfort of his large arms. It’s no surprise when he begins coddling you and checking for injury. He was always this overprotective of you.
“Are you okay, arañito? He didn’t hurt you did he? Why are you out of your room..? Were you hungry? Cold? Lonely even?” He continues to question you, holding you to his chest. “You know you can just call for papa, I’ll be there as soon as you need me.”
That was another thing, Miguel had taken it upon himself to have you call him papa. He was constantly spoiling you or doting on you. It was.. strange.
You hadn’t even noticed when the man began dragging you back to your bedroom, scolding you softly. “You know better than to leave, you could get hurt.. scared me so bad arañita…” he’s lying you in your bed, tucking you in and taking a seat on the edge.
“You know I’m just trying to protect you… trying to be a good father.” He seems so genuine, it makes you feel guilty.
“Lo lamento, papa…” He seems genuinely shocked to hear you speak, let alone in Spanish. Supposed you had picked up on a few words within your stay.
A small smile plays at his lips, glancing your way as he speaks. “It’s alright arañita, I know you didn’t mean to scare me..” he reaches over, gently stroking your hair back. “Just promise me you won’t leave me… please don’t leave me..” he seems to be upset with the idea, and so you agree to his terms.
Nodding softly as you take hold of his large hand, gently playing with the rough, yet warm, flesh. “Sí.. won’t leave… never..”
And it was true. You didn’t have plans to leave, not when he was such a good father. Not when he gave you reason to trust him. He offered you safety and love, and in turn, you’d be his arañito.

So school is over in like 3 weeks and i kinda want to write again, but I think I'll write for different fandoms. I just don't get the same excitment so I think I'll just do whatever I want. Obviously I'll still do the requests, but I think I'll also write different stories.
Currently I'm obsessed with cod and atsv so I think I'll write for those at some point.
I feel a bit uncertain about this change

Very little people about Simon Riley being a married man. He kept his life private and never told anyone even if they asked he simply ignored the question and moved onto the next. You would think he would carry pictures in his wallet or perhaps keep them stored in his vest, but the man never carried that stuff with him. Too afraid and anxious of losing something important to him and perhaps putting them in danger if fallen into the wrong hands.
Simon was still fresh and new with marriage, suddenly getting married with his neighbor who was a single father raising twins on his own. Simon had interacted with the twins various times, always finding them on his front porch as they played with the stray cat that Simon had befriended and fed.
His neighbor was cautious of him at first, afraid of his tough structure but with time he grew to like Simon. Always knowing where to find the twins and trusting Simon to keep an eye on them if they ever ran off. After two years of the two dating it was Simon who wanted to marry the man and raises his kids alongside him. He’s grown to love the twins wether they were chaotic and a handful he didn’t mind.
With Simon being new to marriage he slowly grew used to certain things that both he and husband and kids did together. For example, they’d go out and eat or take turns dropping the kids off at school along with cleaning the house. It all felt domestic to Simon, something he thought he’d never have.
It wasn’t until Simon returned from deployment that he received a call from the twins school, urging him to come by the office due to Briar being in trouble. Simon only ever got contacted by the school in case of emergencies and was placed as a second option. Turns out that Y/n wasn’t able to get to the school and had contact Simon about the situation.
Simon knew that the twins were trouble.
Scratch that.
Briar, was trouble.
When Simon first interacted with the twins he knew that Briar was the tough one. Always speaking her mind and never cared for those who judged her while Ren was the quiet one. He was usually closed off and shy around new people but when he’s with family he’s just as chaotic as Briar.
If the two were separated in a room, things could be decent. But, if the two were in the same room, chaos arrives.
Simon learned to handle the twins attitudes, noticing the difference between the twin even though they had similarities and same age. Ren was the one who grew attached to Simon when he and Y/n first started dating, the small boy was always following Simon around like a lost puppy, he didn’t know why Ren did it.
Most children would run away from Simon in fear of him wearing a skull mask over his face or the big build that he had. Instead, Ren had told Simon that he felt safe around the man, protected. When Ren confessed his true feelings about Simon keeping him safe was when Simon grew to love Ren.
Protecting the kid and reassuring him during hard times.
Briar on the other hand was a handful. Simon expected Briar to grow attached to him at the same pace as Ren but she handled things differently. Briar was blunt towards Simon, maturing at a young age as she asked strange and interesting questions. Briar hadn’t really seen Simon as a parent until Y/n and him started growing serious.
Even though Briar had tough skin she did have one fear and that was Simon Riley. Simon could read her like a book and easily made her talk, there were times where she confessed that she found him intimating—a challenge.
Briar was young and tough and always stepped up for the hard tasks in life. The hears that Y/n spent raising the twins on his own, it was Briar who stepped up at a young age to take care of her little brother whenever Y/n was busy working. She’d clean, cook, and make sure that both she and Ren made it to school even when Y/n couldn’t be there for them.
Briar saw Simon as a challenge. Someone who was trying to steal her important role of the family.
When Simon arrived to the school he ignored the stares he received from both students and teachers as he makes his way to the office, stepping inside to find Briar sitting outside the principles office her arms crossed with an angrily look on her face.
Simons presence gets the twins attention, lifting her head up as the anger in her eyes melts away into a slight hint of fear. Quickly looking away as Simon sighed deeply under his face mask and sits next to Briar.
“Does dad know your here?” She suddenly asks in a soft whisper, getting Simons attention as he shakes his head. “Not yet, he will though.” Simon stares, leaning forward as his elbows are pressed against his knees, head on his hands.
“Okay…” She mumbled.
The two sit on silence until they are called into the principles office, Simon follows behind Briar into the room and the two sit down in front of the principles desk. The man on the other side of the desk can’t help but sigh at the sight of Briar.
“Briar Riley, you’re in trouble again?”
“Drink some cranberry juice.” She shot back with a grin.
Simon bites back a smile as the principle stares at her baffled. “What? No—you are in trouble!” He clarified as Briar kicks her legs, smiling innocently at the principle. It wasn’t until the principle is rubbing his temples with irritation showing on his face, knowing damn well that seeing Briar in his office was a regular thing already.
“Mr. Riley, is it?” The principle says, getting Simons attention as he nods in return. “I’m guessing you weren’t told why you were called here?”
“Unfortunately, no.” He answers honestly.
The principle nods in understanding as he laced his fingers together and set them in front of him, meaning business as he began to explain why Briar was called into the office today.
“Mr. Riley. The reasoning as to why Briar was called in today was because she got into a fight with a kid.”
Simon looks at briar in surprise.
“She punched a kid in the face.” The principle says.
“He deserved it.” Briar blurts out, glaring.
“You broke his nose!” The principle shot back with a deep sigh while pinching the bridge of his nose, disappointed and stressed.
“Do you know why she did it?” Simon finally asks, arms crossed over his chest as he allows the principle to explain. “Her and a young boy were arguing in the play ground and next thing I knew she was punching the kid.” He explains.
The room goes quiet after the explanation, giving Simon the chance to turn to Briar and ask for her side of the story. The nine year old huffs out a sigh as she explains.
“He was being mean to Ren, he pushed him off the swings and Ren scrapped his knees.” She mumbled out. “I told him to apologize but he refused and—he called Ren a mean name and I punched him.” She says, glancing at Simon who sat next to her and watched her closely. He’s able to read her eyes, knowing that she wasn’t lying.
He’s seen Briar fight kids in the past but it wasn’t for fun and games she mainly did when she was either defending herself or her brother. Simon knew that what she did was wrong, but can’t help but side with her on the situation.
“I see no problem with it.” Simon blurts out, getting a surprised look from both Briar and Principle. “Mr. Riley—“
“Briar was protecting her brother. It shouldn’t Briar sitting in this room it should be the other kid who didn’t hesitate to hurt Ren. Briar only did what she thought was right, by punching the kid.”
“She broke his nose!”
“Broken or not, doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be here.” Simon shot back, giving the principle a glare. “I say the kids are even. He got to pick on Ren and in return he got a broken nose.” Simons voice is deep and full of order.
“I’ll make sure she doesn’t do it again, but can’t promise she won’t hold back.” Simon stares, earning a shocked look from the principle as Simon stands from his seat and turns to Briar, nodding towards the door and signaling there leave. Briar looks from the principle to Simon before filling him out quickly, leaving a baffled principle behind.
When they reach the front of the office, Ren is sitting outside on the bench, kicking his legs nervously as he waits for Briar. When they make their appearance be jolts up from his seat and rushed over to hug Briar.
“Did you get expelled?” He asks, pulling away to look at Briar who shakes her head. “No.” She answers, looking down at the backpack that Ren held for her and smiles softly, taking it from his hands and slipping it over her shoulders.
“Doesn’t mean she’s not in trouble.” Simon speaks up, getting Rens attention. “You’ll father would want to know what happened.”
At the mention of Y/n, both kids are struck in fear.
—
Everyone knows that Simon is the scary one to be around when it comes towards missions. He was rough with his team and very demanding when it came towards getting things done. Thats only when he’s working, in his marriage it’s different.
Y/n is considered the scary one. He may look innocent and bubbly on the outside but once a nerve is struck he won’t hesitate to strike back. Which is why the twins feared him, afraid of disappointing their father who spent years raising them on his own and making sure they didn’t cause trouble.
Here he stood, hands on his hips as he tapped his foot angrily, glaring down at Briar who sat on the couch with a small innocent smile. Both Ren and Simon sat near the dining room, getting a clear view of the living room and easy access to ease drop on the conversation.
“Want to tell me why I got a call from the principles today?” Y/n asks, tilting his head to the side in questioning while Briar fidgets in place.
“I…uh—I punched a kid today..”
Y/n’s eyes widen. “You did what?!”
“I punched a kid!” Briar finally says, louder and full of pride which causes Simon to roll his eyes.
“Why?” Y/n demands. “He pushed Ren off the swings and called him a mean word.”
“And you think punching him resolved the issue?”
“She also broke his nose.” Simon pitched in, getting Y/n’s eyes to widen. “What?!”
“It wasn’t that bad…” Briar mutters. “You broke a kids nose!”
Briar frowns with a glare on her face. “What was I suppose to do? Teachers don’t do shit when kids get picked on and Ren was just swinging!” She says. “Then Ben and his friends came over and shoved Ren off while he was swinging and scrapped his knees and nearly hurt his head too!” Briar jumps off the couch, trying to size up Y/n and challenging him. “He called Ren a baby and I got mad and punched him! He deserved that broken nose!”
Her sudden outburst caused the room to grow silent. The only thing heard is Briars heavily breathing as she glared at her father who only stood there in silence, asking a small question.
“Punching someone isn’t the right answer.” Y/n knew how overprotective Briar was of her brother and would do anything for him.
“Yeah? Well—“ briar looks around frantically until her eyes land on Simon. “Simon, what would you do if dad got called something mean or tries to hurt him?” She asks.
Simon didn’t want to get dragged into the situation but at the mention of Y/n getting hurt Simon doesn’t hesitate to answer.
“Murder.” He says with narrow eyes. “See?!” Briar points out, earning a groan from Y/n who sits down and buried his face in his hands, groaning into them, knowing that Simon wasn’t making things better.
Briar takes in her fathers state and sighs softly. The nine year old approached him and hugs him, mumbling quietly. “I’m sorry for getting into trouble…I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.” Y/n looks up from his hands, sighing softly at his daughter as he pulls her into a tight hug. “God—your just a kid. I’m worried that your growing too fast.” He whines out.
Before Simon came into the picture, Y/n was raising the twins alone and seeing his kids grow was starting to take a toll on him. He enjoyed having them as babies but one doesn’t stay a baby anymore and his kids were growing a lot faster than he thought.
“They won’t stay kids forever.” Simon suddenly says, standing next to Y/n and Brair and smiles down at the two while his husband chuckled at him. “You’re right about that.” Y/n turns to Briar, pulling away from the hug and giving her head a kiss. “Just—no more fighting?”
“No promises.” Briar responds, earning an eye roll from Y/n who gently shoves his daughter away. “Go annoy your brother.” He gets a laugh from Briar as she rushed past Simon and towards her twin brother, leaving Simon and Y/n on there own.
“I always thought Ren would be the one to get in trouble.” Simons suddenly says, sitting down next to Y/n who raises a brow. “What makes you think that?”
Simon grins. “The quiet ones are always the deadliest.”

Y/n was running errands. The twins had begged him to buy snacks after finishing up their last stash and wanting him to stock up. He knew not to argue with his kids, knowing that the will fight back if he declined the idea of getting more snacks.
And so, he had no choice but to get changed and take his car keys and wallet and head to the nearest market. He carried a list of things the twins requested, including Simons small request of wanting something sweet. It always surprised Y/n that someone so deadly and dangerous could have a craving for something so sweet.
He chuckles at the memory of Simon devouring their wedding cake alongside the twins who ate next to him. There wedding wasn’t anything huge, just them three and a witness or two but that was all.
Upon arriving to the store he makes sure to take a cart, going up and down the aisles in case he wishes to get anything else but snacks. He reached the alcohol isle and grins to himself. One drink wouldn’t hurt, right?
He hums softly to himself as he searched the shelves, looking for his own favorite drink. He makes sure to add Simons on the list too in case he wanted a small drink. It takes him a few minutes to find Simons.
“Bourbon…bourbon—Ah!” He mumbled under his breath until he finally finds the bottle, smiling in victory as he takes the bottle in hand, checking to make sure that it was the right one.
“Never thought of you as a bourbon type.”
Y/n furrows his brows, looking up from the bottle to come face to face with an old friend of his.
“Leon?” Y/n stares at him with wide eyes as Leon gives him a faint smile in return. “Y/n.” He says in return, getting a small laugh out of the other.
“What—how—what are you doing here, out of all places?” Y/n finally asks, too in shock to let out a proper question. He couldn’t stop staring at Leon, he’s changed so much. His blonde hair no longer blonde but a dark brunette color and his eyes were brighter. The man aged like fine wine due to his appearance looking the same when he was younger but with hints of maturity and a faint stubble on his face.
Y/n couldn't stop staring at the man standing before him that Leon’s words go through deaf ears.
“—Y/n?”
He’s finally pulled out of his thoughts and blinks his eyes. “I’m sorry, what?” He coughs out, blushing softly as he placed the bottle of alcohol in the cart he had with him.
“I asked if you were alright? You seemed a little out of it.” Said Leon.
“Sorry! It’s Just—It’s been awhile.” He admits with a faint chuckle escaping his lips, trying to focus his attention on anything else but Leon. It wasn’t until the older man eyed his cart and smirks. “Snacks and booze? Having a party or something?”
Y/n flushed and laughs. “Actually the snacks are for the twins, you remember the twins right?” He’s quick to ask, disregarding Leon’s second question. “How can I forget the twins, I remember when they first started school. Is Briar still causing you trouble?”
Y/n groans at the mention of his troublesome daughter. “Always.” He answers, taking the end of the cart in hand and pulling it behind him as he walks down the aisle, alongside Leon as the two did some shopping together. “Briar and Ren are fifteen.” He blurts out, getting a surprise look from Leon who scoffs.
“No way, I remember them being kids. Has it really been that long?”
Y/n nods his head. “Time goes by fast.” He states, warning a chuckle from Leon as the two approach the register, standing in line to check out their items. Y/n had looked into Leon’s basket, raising a brow at the amount of alcohol bottles he has.
“Is that all your getting?” He points out, causing leon to chuckle nervously. “Yeah…”
Y/n hums and decides to keep quiet, turning his attention back to his one items and makes sure that he got everything for the twins and Simon. The thought of missing anything could get him into trouble, the last time he forgot something he got a dramatic Briar and a whinny Ren to deal with until he finally got them their favorites snacks.
It wasn’t until he stepped up to the registrar to finally get his things scanned and paid for that Leon calls out his name before he exits the store.
“I was wondering if you wanted to get some dinner? That’s if your not busy.” Leon quickly says, getting Y/n’s attention who stared at Leon with wide eyes.
He knows that he shouldn’t accept the dinner date he already had plans to cook dinner for his kids and husband, but it’s been years since he’s last seen Leon. His friend his first partner, they were simply catching up what could go wrong?
“Sure.”
—
“He’s taking forever.” Ren groans into the couch pillow, lying on his stomach as he continues to whine while Briar paced the room at a slow pace. She would glance out the window in hopes of her seeing Y/n’s return only to find nothing. Then she would look at the clock hanging on the wall.
“It’s been more than 30 minutes.” She mumbled.
“Be patient.” Simon finally speaks up from the couch, sitting on the far end next to Ren while the teen sulks into the pillows. “He told you two that you shouldn’t be eating too many snacks, perhaps this is his way of punishing you both and making you wait.”
Brair frowns at Simons words, doubting them. She knew her father well enough and she knew that area she lived in. The nearest grocery store was fifteen minutes away, she knew that her own father was someone who goes in to get what he needs and is out in seconds. He never took his time to check everything unless he had a long list of groceries to get.
“Something’s not right.” Briar finally says, getting Ren and Simons attention. “The store is close and he should have been back a few minutes ago.”
“Traffic?” Ren says with a shrug.
“No…” Briar tries to think over reasons as to why her father wasn’t home yet. Simon knew that she was overthinking the situation and comes to a stand, making his way over to the teen and placing a gentle hand on the top of her head. “Easy kid, Y/n will be back soon and if anything happened to him we would know.” Simon tried to reassure Briar but can still see the worry in her eyes.
Simon sighs. “How about we drive by to see if his car is still at the store?” Simons idea gets Briars attention, lightening Briar as she nods frantically.
“Go get your shoes. Both of you.” Simons instructs the twins as they quickly move to get some shoes on while Simon gets the keys to his own car, waiting outside for the twins as they rushed out of the house and into his car.
“Come on! Hurry up!” Briar exclaimed, getting an eye roll from Simon. “We are only doing a drive by, that is all.” He reminds the twins as he gets the car started and driving then towards the nearest store. Briar is bouncing on her seat, staring up ahead in hopes of seeing anything that could be causing her fathers delay while Ren sat in the back seat staring out the window.
It wasn’t until they stop at a red light that Ren speaks up. “Holy shit.”
“Language.” Said Simon while Briar turns around in her seat to face Ren. “What?” She takes notice of Ren staring out the window with wide eyes, frowning. “What are you looking at?” She finally turns to her own window, looking in the direction her brother was staring only to spot her father eating outside a fast food with another man. The two laughing together without a care.
Briars mouth is open in shock. Rens eyes are wide and Simon. Oh, Simon wasn’t someone who easily got jealous but the grip on the steering wheel caused his knuckles to go white, clearly upset about the situation but not saying anything about it. Before the twins could say anything the street light turns green, Simon hits the gas and drives off.
The twins sit in silence while Simon finds a longer way back home. The tension in the car gets the twins uncomfortable, feeling Simons anger and jealous radiate off his body. The twins felt like kids again who got yelled at for doing something wrong, getting their father really angry to the point where the car rides were full of silence and only tension. Even though the twins knew they weren’t in trouble they can’t help but feel like they were.
When they finally get home the twins both glance at each other, communicating in silence. Ren is the first to break the tension. “Maybe it’s a friend?” His voice is soft.
“Or he’s cheating.” Briar blurts out, blunt and honest.
Ren smacks her shoulder, glaring at his sister who glared back. “I’m only being honest,” She hissed out, rubbing her shoulder.
Simon is sitting in silence, listening to the kids bickering but is quick to shut them out. Simon wasn’t someone to get upset over stuff like this, he trusted Y/n. He married him, he wouldn’t throw everything away for someone else. Even though Simon and Y/n have been married for a few years he knows his partner well enough to communicate with him regarding anything and so far things have been going well.
Y/n would tell Simon everything that happens at work, let out his frustrations when he’s dealing with something hard. He tells Simon how he feels about curtain stuff without being afraid or embarrassed about it.
Simon couldn't say he was the same. He struggled at first when it comes towards talking about his feelings. He always kept everything bottled up. After Y/n came into his life he slowly started to learn.
“He’s not cheating.” He finally speaks up, startling the twins with his deep voice. “Y/n wouldn’t do that.” Simon adds, turning towards the twins and giving them a reassuring smile.
“Come on, let’s wait inside.”
His last words get the twins moving, jumping out of the car and rushing inside, jumping on the couch and fighting over the remote while Simon tossed his eyes on the coffee table and plops down between the twins, taking the remote from the two and deciding what to watch, getting a look of disbelief from the twins.
It wasn’t until an hour later that Y/n finally gets home, stumbling inside the house with bags in hand and sighing deeply. “I’m back!” He calls out, kicking the door shut.
He raises a brow in confusion when he doesn’t hear a greeting back. The twins usually come running to him when he comes back from the store but no one comes to him. “Kids?” He calls out, walking further into the house. “Simon?” He approached the living room where he finds both Briar and Ren, sitting side by side with arms crossed while narrowing their eyes.
“Uh, I’m back?” Y/n says again a bit concerned by the twins attitude as they watched him.
“You’re late.” Said Ren.
“Yeah, thats because I was getting your snacks.” Said Y/n as he walks over to the kitchen, to set the bag of snacks on the counter, taking it out of the bag. “Getting snacks should only take a few minutes you were gone for an hour.” Briar says this time, getting off the couch and walking to the kitchen, following her dad around as he puts the snacks away.
“So? I was taking my time.” Y/n shrugs his shoulders. The twins are slowly getting irritated and it’s Ren who blurts out the question they really wanted to know the answer too. “Are you going to divorce Simon?”
Y/n’s eyes widen, whipping his head to face the twins properly. “What—? What makes you think that?!”
“We saw you…you were having dinner with some guy and you seemed pretty happy.” Said Briar, shrugging a shoulder as she lowers her gaze. Briar could be loud and blunt but the subject of Y/n and Simon possibly divorcing set her into a panic where she shuts down, closing up and becoming afraid.
Y/n had noticed this when raising the twins on his own before Simon came into the picture. He’s quick to shake his head, approaching the twins and pulling them into hugs. “God no—I could never leave Simon and I would never ask for a divorce, do you know how long it took me to finally find someone who actually cares for me and you two? Because I’m not throwing that away.” He shakes his head.
Ren lifts up his head from Y/n chest. “Then who was the guy you were having dinner with?”
Y/n lets out a soft chuckle. “He’s—well, he was an ex of mine but, what we had back then wasn’t serious it only lasted a few weeks before we decided to remain friends. I haven’t seen him in years and I was simply catching up, nothing else.” He explains to the twins.
“You guys met him once!”
“We did?” The twins said in unison, confusion written on their faces as Y/n rolls his eyes. “Yeah, when you were seven years old. His name is Leon Kennedy? Tall blonde hair, blue eyes—?”
Briar is the first to gasp, pulling away from her dad. “The really hot cop?!”
“He’s in his thirties and not a cop anymore.”
“But he’s still hot?” Briar questions with a mischievous grin on her face while wiggling her brows. Y/n sighs deeply, knowing that his daughter was going to force him to admit that Leon was still good looking.
“Yes, he’s still attractive but, I love Simon more. He’s—“ Y/n looks up from the twins to see Simon standing near the stairway, leaning against the wall as he grins. Clearly the man had heard everything, listening into their conversation as Y/n gives off a soft smile before looking back at the twins. “Simon has the muscles and strong—God, the way his hands wrap around—“
“Ah! Stop no more!” Ren shouts, covering his ears as Briar faked a gag, looking at her dad in disgust. “No details!” She shouted too. The twins growing dramatic while Simon approached the twins and Y/n, smiling at his husband as he wraps an arm around his waist and pulls him into a deep kiss, Y/n wrapping his arms around his neck as he deepens it.
The twins scream in horror at the sight of their parents making out, running out of the kitchen and upstairs. “Get a room!” Ren shouted, causing the two to break apart from the kiss and laugh.
“Oh, we have one.” Y/n smirks at Simon.
