If I Were To Follow Canon, I`d Say That Auto Show From The S2 Finale Counts As Their First `official`

If I were to follow canon, I`d say that auto show from the S2 finale counts as their first `official` date and the fact that they seem to be a couple/were trying to be a thing around S3.

By my hc, I think that they hung out together somewhere during the Pier Pressure episode while Ben and Julie were together. Sure, they argued for a bit about Kevin being immature, then they`d try to cool things off.

Things between them were too awkward/early to call it a ``date`` but they may have went somewhere low-key. Like Kevin slightly giving in and asking if she`s hungry like he is. Maybe at Burger Shack.

Interactions like this would explain why Gwen is more - used to him than Ben seems to be. They just interacted more in times where a threat wasn`t in their way. Also the times Gwen hung around his garage hint towards this.

There was also that one claim from McDuffie where he confirmed that Kevin and Gwen were friends/reunited before AF`s premiere and that Gwen had more of a reason to trust him.

It`s possible that she intentionally tried to be around him more to talk/get to know him better so he`d feel welcomed in the group/get her impression on him and help each other out (and also, the other reasons heh,)

Well, the changes done here are all explained in my AU version of him but to cut it brief/ a bit spoiler-free:

I imagine that he got to Gwen's place to pick her up with his usual hairstyle and she helped him out with his hair. So he'd look all stylish / be able to not have his hair into his eyes.

As you can see, his ears and features in general are sharper. Those are choices done in order to give him individuality from the Tennysons' general appearances from canon. Also because I find them cool !

Also other reasons which are related to my re-imagining of osmosians' features in general.

I believe that at first, he'd be unsure over the hairstyle change because his ears would be even more noticeable.

I see Gwen reassuring him that his ears are fine and that he shouldn't be ashamed of what he is (he's still half alien in the AU). In the end, he sees that he slays the hairstyle and keeps it for the night

Those 2 locks of hair which remained on his forehead are just- shorter strands from the front of his hairline which didn't stick right at the back.

Also, he's hiding something underneath his hair.

Gwen takes notice of that but won't push that on him that night. He'll probably talk about it when he's ready

I have never watched Ben 10 but like WHAT IS THEIR RELATIONSHIP?! I’m so intrigued lol

ok so admittedly this fanart is probably more sensual than they have ever actually been in show but BASICALLY kevin is an enemy of ben’s when they’re kids (it’s quite fucked up bc he’s like. eleven years old and gets sent to the intergalactic equivalent of prison) but when the time skip happens and they’re both teenagers they end up allying with each other due to certain circumstances and also primarily bc gwen implores kevin to do the right thing and he relents. the initial set up between them is quite corny bc they’re not dating they don’t date for a whole season iirc but kevin is nonetheless very impartial to gwen and clearly a bit smitten with her and she knows that he is and not only uses that to try to tap into his latent compassionate side but also to sort of poke and prod him like “hey. you clearly like me so ask me out on a date you dork” which in turns flusters him incredibly.. he’s like your standard emotionally stuffed up bad boy with a hidden heart of gold except he’s really not a dickhead in any capacity he’s quite sweet and caring and his only real problem is being afraid of his own capacity to be bad bc he’s already gone to prison once before. but gwen believes in him against all odds and she sticks by him and constantly pushes and inspires him to be better and their relationship ends up being a really big thing in the series bc of how deeply committed they are to each other despite all odds. also the thing that additionally makes me go psycho is that gwen is part anodyte which are a race of aliens made purely of energy which if they give into can completely consume them and then kevin is part osmosian which are a race of aliens who can literally consume energy and also render them susceptible to mental overload so like.. the balance of it all is insane. anyway here’s a video of kevin calling gwen “baby” they’re literally the cutest couple ever i think all girls with black belts and an ivy league education and energy powers should date goth mechanics with expertise in alien weaponry and intergalactic history

here ya go!! sorry if i have less of these my gwevin thoughts are borderline incomprehensible if youre not down w the liz lore.... most of my gwevin shit is so far divorced from canon theyre completely different lawl

-when gwen moves away to go to college kevin comes over to her house w toiletpaper and lightbulbs bc you never remember those when youre first moving out

-gwen actually distrusted kevin heavily when they first met because of their prior meeting but was civil and friendly because she'd been burned before by being outright rude to people she distrusted. this in turn made him obsessed with her bc people are nice to him so rarely

-kevin actually wears more makeup than gwen (whos more of a tinted lip balm and moisturizer type girl) so he does her makeup for special events

-kevin and gwen don't actually ever get married in the series (this is actually canon) and i think its bc even though kevin has a longer lifespan than someone like ben, he'll still die long before gwen does, and shes scared of leaving someone she loves behind. both kevin and gwen r very against the 'saintity of marrige' as well bc of their families so they just stay unmarried for the rest of their lives. they get ben to be a surrogate for devlin though :))

-kevin is very empathetic but not very good at social cues, so he often does things that he feels will help/ empathize with people but doesnt understand the signals they're putting out, if that makes sense, so he'll often try to be affectionate with gwen when she's mad at him and it will just make things worse. gwen knows he's trying to be loving but her inherently judgemental nature makes her go through this endless cycle of confronting bad assumtions about him and trying to knock them down for the sake of the relationship. kevin sees this and appreciates that shes trying, but still feels like hes not worthy of her effort. theyll get through it dont worry

-gwen is a fucking HORRIBLE driver, and has crashed cars multiple times including kevins, but he forgives her no matter what bc she just makes big eyes at him and he forgets that he was mad at her

-gwen grabs kevin's padlock to yank him down to talk to her. 99% of the time this cuts off the air in his windpipe but he gives zero shits because he gets to look at her face to face
