I've thought this myself, that Chloe can somehow hurt Lucifer or that her proximity causes his mortality.

Speculation 101

Lucifer is still immortal. BUT Chloe is his Kryptonite.

We have not seen him being harmed by anyone other than Chloe (sans Amenadiel) or when he is in close proximity with her. In Episode 1, he gets shot and from his face we can see he is feeling the pain. But the second he lets go off Chloe, he rips the guy to shreds.

In Episode 4 he gets shot by Chloe. It was wound directly inflicted by her, hence leaving a lasting impression. In Episode 10 he gets burned while carrying Chloe out of the building, but seems to be in no pain after that.

Here are some wild theories:

Chloe can hurt him because he has given her the power to due to how he feels about her

Chloe is other-worldly. Probably an offspring of a fallen angel, making her a semi-angel

Lucifer asks her in the first episode “Did my father send you?”. Maybe that is true. Maybe she is chosen by God and part of his plan for Lucifer.

Because if you let your children have all the power and control, that's when they grow up to think they can do whatever they want with no consequences.

My four-year-old has very little power over his own life because to be honest, he would try to walk out of the house with no shoes during a snow storm or eat cookies all day everyday.

I take control of my child's life because otherwise, it would be a miracle if he made it thus far without maiming himself for life.
