As someone with anorexia, calories beside the food changes everything. It makes me think about how many calories I’ve eaten in the day. I start counting calories when I know I’m not supposed to, after I’ve conditioned myself not to automatically calculate them in my head. Calories beside the items on the menu can make it impossible for me to order food I actually enjoy, instead going for the option with less calories.

For the average person, it may not be a big deal. It’s a big deal for me, though.

Mental how the British Government can pass rubbish laws like “All restaurants need to display calorie count beside any items” and just completely disregard people with eating disorders.

It’s just unnecessary as fuck.
