So my Aphmau hyperfix came back after five years so I'm rewriting Mystreet + Phoenix Drop 😋 It's gonna be in fanfic form because I can't comic and I think it's pretty neat

The main changes are largely just world building a bit better, taking certain topics more seriously (like school gangs, mental health, and bullying, although Phoenix Drop and Mystreet will still have funny moments), and also messing with the characters and character designs a bit. Like, I changed *a lot* about Kawaii~Chan and redesigned Lucinda, but largely kept her character the same

Expect some updates and art here and there, although nothing particularly big as its a huge work in progress. I write super messily and plan very little so aspects might change as I find things I find cool from other people's rewrites

i actually fully feel like the fans are too hard on aphmau the character in minecraft diaries. At least in the first season

Aphmau is GENUINELY funny. She moves the plot forward through sheer force of shenanigans. She trips and falls and accidentally becomes lord because NO ONE has put as much work into the village and is as interested in its advancement as she is. The world expands as she is the one who keeps the cogs moving.

“She’s a self insert” it started as a LETS PLAY!!! She didnt start as a character she grew into one. As someone we later learn to be Irene, her initial reaction to the people of the world as being npcs, things she doesnt have to care about but CHOOSES too is very compelling! And as she is more immersed in the world the more she cares. The less they are npcs to her and more fully functional people with lives and families.

“Everyone loves her” aphmau, the character, is a fully automated badass who saves lords and wolf pups from the nether, refurbishes phoenix drop, travels and makes connections and brings people together. She is the cornerstone of the community, she took in children who needed homes, she offers care and shelter to people who need it. she is a genuine, caring, loving person who goes out of her way to help people. She’s kind in a world that often is not. It is unique and it draws people to her. She has a magnetic personality.

I am under no pretenses that aphmau is in any way perfect. She’s far from it. But i feel these things are really harped on and it feels unfair. Just wanted to throw in my two cents since the fandom (especially on TikTok) can feel very negative at times.

I’ve been obsessing over shadow knights recently so I prepose a thought.

We know Shadow Knights are glorified zombies who are practically decaying, right?

Well what if Shadow Knights could go into a sort of hibernation like state? Being reclaimed by nature?

Like a shadow knight enters the over world and is tired of the village life but also the knight life. So they opt to lie on the forest floor and enter a deep slumber as nature tries to reclaim them. Unfortunately due to them being a shadow knight nature can only reclaim so much. Everything around the knight decays while a tree covers their body, protecting them. These trees look different due to the dark magic the shadow knight is giving off. So instead of normal overworld tree, a tree from the nether sprouts in place.

Immortal knights do this because they feel it’s the closest thing to death.

Not fully fledged knights do this because they fear they might harm their loved ones.

It’s a death like sleep but the knight can be awakened if the area around them is disturbed a good bit.

Examples are: Floods, Earthquakes, Tornados, construction work/drilling in the ground, constant destruction to the tree, etc.

So imagine the mcd world slowly turning into the my street world and Laurence entered this type of slumber back during mcd. Later he is awoken by reincarnations of his friends in the modern my street world.

Just a silly thought touching on Shadow Knighrs decaying 🤗✨
