Hey guyss (empty theater)

So my Aphmau hyperfix came back after five years so I'm rewriting Mystreet + Phoenix Drop 😋 It's gonna be in fanfic form because I can't comic and I think it's pretty neat

The main changes are largely just world building a bit better, taking certain topics more seriously (like school gangs, mental health, and bullying, although Phoenix Drop and Mystreet will still have funny moments), and also messing with the characters and character designs a bit. Like, I changed *a lot* about Kawaii~Chan and redesigned Lucinda, but largely kept her character the same

Expect some updates and art here and there, although nothing particularly big as its a huge work in progress. I write super messily and plan very little so aspects might change as I find things I find cool from other people's rewrites

“what could he do should have been a rockstar, but he didnt have the money for a guitar” laurence who has always dazzled society, who has flirted and laughed his way out of trouble. the casanova of meteli, the infamous flirt. he’s always been adored by people, but now hes only feared by them, for his cold skin and unbeating heart is unnatural in the world of living. he has been an anomaly since the moment he stepped foot in the nether, even more so the moment he stepped foot out of it.

“what could he do should have been a politician, but he didnt have a proper education” dante who is loyal, who is brave, who is kind. dante who has to live haunted by the memories of what his brother did. dante who tried to help, he so desperately wanted to help, to keep them alive and well and for them to remember but he could do nothing but stand there looking his parents in the eyes as they asked him, “who are you?” he left after that, with a farewell and wishes of prosperity for them. he left and tried to make good use of himself, to be the protector of those who need him.

“what could he do should have been a father, but he didnt even make it past his twentys.” garroth eho faked his death in hopes of finding a life that wouldent shackle him down. garroth who is devoted and dedicated, and found a small village and decided to stay when he could have run off to some rich city and live his life full of luxuries. instead he picked up a sword, and swore to be there for them like how no one was there for him.

Okay hear me out because I had an idea. So what if mystreet had an overarching theme of unlearning violence/generational trauma/stuff like that

Basically I realized a lot of characters have not so great families/home lives and I realized this could work really well as an overarching theme

The main one is with Aphmau. She's supposed to be an Irene, but in my little epilogue/hypothetical season 7, she chooses not to be Irene. Irene isn't as intrinsically apart of her as the Aphmau before her, so she has a choice. Accepting the relic would mean she's no longer Aphmau, she is Irene, and that could entail leaving behind her friends and family and Aaron unless she hands out the rest of the relics, but while she'd keep Garroth, Katelyn, and Travis, what about Aaron? For reasons I'll bring up in another post, only Aaron can receive Shad's relic. If he receives the relic with his Ultima curse what would that mean? That's not a question Aphmau wants to find out the answer to. She has to choose between her mother, her fiance, some of her closest friends, and fulfilling a legacy. She knows she can't ever go back to a normal life, not after everything that had happened, but she would rather adjust with those she deems the closest to her, rather than alone as a goddess

The Irene before her didn't get that choice. The first Irene had gone through a lot and it turned her cold and unfeeling. She lost the capacity to empathize with those around her. So when Lord Aphmau came along, the dilemmas associated with being Irene but not wasn't even something that crossed her mind. Lord Aphmau developed as someone not Irene, but she never really had a say in who she was. Her thoughts, her words, her actions, they were all Irene. She suffered under that role and she wouldn't wish that on anyone. As a result, she created a degree of separation between her and Aphmau. Aphmau was born to be Irene, that was her destiny, but whether or not she followed it was up to her.

Aphmau chose not to become Irene, adding yet another layer of separation. An Irene will always come, will always be born in order to combat evil, but Aphmau doesn't have to follow her mother and suffer under the legacy of her grandmother, in a role she doesn't want to fill. She already did her duty as Irene, becoming her also isn't necessary

This can also be shown with Dante standing up to Gene as they're brothers, Garroth and Zane unlearning Garte's shit parenting (especially with Zane's history with the Jury and Garroth just kinda sucking as a brother), Katelyn getting into fights and stuff in order to protect Kacey because she feels like she has to fill in for Elizabeth's absence, and then realizing that she doesn't make up for anything
