I think Garroth's trauma and struggles are so overlooked in canon honestly-

->He almost died being turned into a werewolf

->He was forced to almost kill multiple people. Including his own brother.

->While under the forever potions control he basically is like a weapon/robot.

->After his brother finally gets him out of the forever potion. His own mother is used against him to get him under the control of the potion again.

->He was forced to almost kill another one of his friends.

->He was experimented on as a kid. AND the guy who let him be expiremented on (his own father) is someone that has been considerably close to Garroth. With Garroth being the 'golden child'.

->Golden child syndrome

->He doesn't want to inheret the company at all but basically gets no choice in that. Living your life knowing inevetably you be forced into doing something you just don't want to.

He also seems unlikely to actually communicate about his struggles.

No you are so right, he has been through like everything. I feel like though he *might* talk to Zane about their childhoods once they start working out their issues with each other, but yeah besides that I doubt he'd really talk about his emotions

(I also headcanon him with a "healthy" dose of older sibling syndrome where he felt like he had to fill in for his dad's neglect towards Zane and Vylad so that coupled with needing to always be the golden child means he never learned how to express or handle his emotions beyond bottling it up. Unfortunately it didn't really matter how much Garroth did because Zane resented him no matter what)

Sylvanna is the main character with her eight siblings (yeah, that's canon btw) and the main friend group is her, Zianna, and Eric. There aren't any Shadow Knights, but Gene and Dante's parents probably show up. Sylvanna gets into boy trouble like once but overall is a pretty regular student. Zianna is also, but she's thought of as the prettiest girl so she is constantly telling Sylvanna about how a new guy took a liking to her. She never really got it. She was content with just her little friend group. Rachel and Derek are there too. Rachel is the student body president and has been for the past few years. Derek, on the other hand, is almost constantly in detention. That's where they met. Rachel would often watch detention instead of the usual teacher and they'd exchange playful banter, like Rachel asking "in here again, Lycan?" and Derek answering with a smirk "you know it." Elizabeth also went there and she met the main group on prom when she asked Eric to dance because her date left her. Sylvanna and Zianna always got a bad vibe from her, but Zianna (Irene bless her soul) didn't want to be rude and reject Elizabeth

The bad part of messy writing is I started off writing very lighthearted because I wasn't totally sure what i was doing yet, but im now nine chapters and almost 90 pages in and I've just figured out that I want it to feel darker and more mature but still have lighthearted moments so now the beginning must feel super hard to get through knowing how actually good it gets later on

I saw a post talking about Lilith and how mystreet Aarmau would find her and just. Imagine it doesn't follow Diaries and instead follows the plot of canon Mystreet, but now with the addition of Aph and Aaron having an adopted baby daughter. Imagine she mysteriously lost both of her parents, only for the events of Emerald Secret and When Angels Fall to happen. She does still have Aph, but she lost her once and she lost Aaron twice. Even if she wasn't in Emerald Secret and instead stayed with Sylvanna, she would still be with the cast in When Angels Fall.

At first, it was the happiest Aph ever saw her daughter. She got to teach Lilith how to swim and they got cute matching bathing suits. She got to be surrounded by her family and her family's friends, which were all essentially her aunts and uncles. She got to be loving doted on by her grandmother, Eric, and Zianna. Then that all changed. Suddenly, they were moving to a suite, everyone seemed tense and anxious, and Lilith wasn't allowed to leave anymore. It was fine for a month or so, but then she was being smuggled out by her mother and Zane, her mother and Kawaii~Chan (who probably spent the most amount of time with Lilith out of all of her aunts) got mortally wounded, and Garroth and Katelyn were siding with the bad men now. Melissa and Rachel were dead, her father was missing, and the rest of her aunts and uncles were talking about leaving. She was probably left behind with Sylvanna, Eric, and the Ro'Meaves while they went onto the celestial Canon, so she would've blacked out only to wake up to find she couldn't be with her parents

Imagine how traumatic all of that would be for a baby. She doesn't know what's going on, she can't understand or process it, but she knows she was scared and her parents were just as scared
