Hi guys! So, I tend to post little temporary preview posts on IG the day before I post a comic, & I’ve been wanting to do that here, too. But there doesn’t seem to be a temporary post option like “stories”, & I don’t really want to clutter up my archive - any suggestions? 💭

Hurricane Helpers (day 2)

(lol this funny image has been stuck in my head through this, so I’ve decided to use it as a cover for these fundraiser updates!)

So many donations, so many Pokémon! I only got a handful done today with work & errands, but there was a more actiony vibe as I thought “oh yeah, these guys are supposed to be helping in the hurricane lol (though moral support IS helpful!)”. We’ve got a couple “moral support” Pokémon, but also flood control & search / rescue:

DxP REWRITE - Coal Badge

Part 1 of the Gym Montage, starting off with Oreburgh City & those first few steps through Sinnoh! Emmet tested Ansy a lot during the first few badges, much like Barry does in BDSP & in DPPt, but with Double Battles, & something better than a slow-evolving Starly lol. Oreburgh is where he gets his fossil Pokémon: Ballast, the now Shieldon!

Meanwhile, Team Galactic being more of a classic, Pokemon theft team, quickly learns that Ansy still nurses a special grudge towards their type lol. (It was super effective!)

⭐️ In case you missed our special weather report last night, I’m gonna be collabing with a friend from Instagram, Professor Case, in efforts to raise relief funds for Hurricane Helene & Milton. We’re thinking of setting up a donation & making little Pokémon thank you doodles in return. Luckily, I have a cushion of completed comics ready to go, so when we got this all set up, I’ll be ready! ✍🏻

Trying to get a feel for the quick thank you drawings we’re gonna make when Professor Case & I got this all set up. We’re thinking 5 minute doodles, though this one took a liiiiiittle extra time…as it’s a little extra special! I reached 5K follows on Instagram, & here on Tumblr, I’m steadily on my way to 700, which is a LOT more than I ever really expected to get! Thank you so, so much! 878

Castform is actually based on a little weather charm called a “てるてる坊主 / teru teru bozu” or “sunshine monk”, which is a little doll made from fabric or paper hung up by the window to help pray the rain away. Sora & I are likewise Wishing all of you affected by the hurricanes to stay safe & sound with all our hearts. 🩵

Hi! Why wasn't the pokemon Ansy used in battle against the plasma grunt out helping her? Was it returned to the ball and then that was when the scene happened?

Returned to their ball - Ansy won the battle, but that grunt was a sore loser so he decided to go for Rain (who doesn’t hang out in a Poké Ball, usually sitting on Ansy’s head like in “Let’s Go! Eevee”). Took her by surprise.
