falling angel

falling angels are kind of overdone, but this was great practice in skin and wing practice! this is inspiring my latest angel drawing craze.

also the style is kind of new but i like it; it’s just a bit heavy on my hand 😔

poem for the drawing:

through the stars stained into the galaxy

and the iridescence of your feathers

kissing the sky and sun and moon

sin tainting the lips meant to pray

the idea behind this was meant to be a Greek hero who died in war and made a bust in his honour. it’s a bit brooding, or sad-ish, but i love the colours. it makes it look more abstract ish, somehow.

a face crystallised in marble and stone

even when you were alive, your cheeks always seemed cold to my touch

but so stained with pink as you battled

but then here you are now,

dead

and me, mourning marble, cradling a stone-cold face

hoping to call to mind your pink-stained cheeks again
