Izuku wanted Katsuki's happiness more than being loved (or even just respected) by him

and Katsuki preferred to put aside his pride and his desire to be forgiven/ to become friends with Izuku to save him

to see him smile again

in the end, this selfless longing to see each other happy even if it means keeping some distance ends up so deeply reciprocated that these idiots don't realize they're each other's main source of happiness

Can they admit they want to be friends and can't live without each other already because watching this oblivious mutual pining hurts my heart
