I know this is an 🌟unpopular opinion🌟 or whatever, but it is absolutely BUCK WILD to me that there are so many fans out there who purely blame Endeavor for Dabi's crimes

like are you guys out there simping for real life serial killers just because they had a rough upbringing?

I adore Touya as a character and I think his story is deeply tragic, but his choices are also his own. He chose to become a villain. He chose to join the LOV. He chose to stand with AFO (sort of)

he grew up with wealth and privilege (if not emotional/mental support) and had many chances to make different choices after he woke up from his coma. He even returned home and saw Shouto suffering and did nothing to stop it - instead, he decided to dedicate his life to vengeance against Endeavor

don't get me wrong - I think Touya becoming Dabi was like 80% severe mental health issues and a couple of supervillains fucking around with his brain and body to make him a potential weapon, and you can certainly blame his parents for the trauma that contributed to those mental health issues (I refuse to let Rei off the hook), but the idea that Endeavor is the direct cause of all the damage Dabi did is laughable

if everybody who lacked the love and attention they needed from their fathers became insane murders and arsonists, the whole world would be fucked

Like with everything else, these issues are way more complex than we give them credit for. There is plenty of blame to go around and to lay it all at Endeavor's feet for being a shitty dad is totally short-sighted
