"Mingyu~ Say Hi to hyung" His omma said, as Mingyu peeked from behind his mom's legs, gazing at the young pale skin boy standing in front of the lady. The boy smiled at him, and Mingyu stepped out from behind his mom's legs and extended his hand. "Hi Wonu hyung" he said and extended his hand that Wonwoo took welcomingly.

Elementary School

"STAY AWAY FROM WONU HYUNG!" Mingyu said as he punched the upper class man that was trying to tower over Wonwoo, as Seokmin pulled Wonwoo and Jihoon off the ground.

"Kim Mingyu, you have nothing to do with this!" The guy chided. "If you don't wanna catch another one, then scram!" He said, raising his voice. And the 3 boys pulled their main bully away.

"KIM MINGYU! WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING IN SCHOOL! DO YOU THINK YOU'RE SOME WRESTLER" his mom scolded him as they walked back after the teacher complained. "But they were bullying Wonu hyung" he said and his mother's eyes softened. "You should have called a teacher then!" She still tried to be harsh. "But Wonu Hyung would have been hurt by then" he said with a pout. "So, you protect Wonwoo and get Seokmin to call a teacher. You can't protect your loved ones by force" she said and Mingyu nodded.

Hence ,here they were, a week later. "Why won't you fight?! You asshole? Did you go weak?!" The bully leader asked Mingyu who stood in front of Wonwoo like a stone, taking punches. And Wonwoo who had tears rolling down his face unendingly begging Mingyu to either fight back or move. Yeah, let's say Seokmin saved the day and mom's plan worked well.

Middle School

"Wonu hyung~" Mingyu whined dramatically, "what?" Wonwoo asked, adjusting his glasses with a thin smile that Mingyu missed as he followed the older boy with a pout. "Why didn't you come see me at lunch today?" Mingyu asked. "Do I always have to see you at lunch?" Wonwoo asked, "I thought it would make up for the time you missed me during your elementary school final year." He added. "But I want to have lunch with you!" Mingyu whined at the slightly taller older boy. "Okay okay. I'll come tomorrow onwards" Wonwoo said and ruffled Mingyu's hair.

“Mingyu?” Wonu called out as he climbed up the stairs in the younger boys house after he greeted Mrs. Kim. “Hey. How are you?” he asked, his voice softer than ever upon seeing the younger boy in bed covered with blankets. “I don’t really feel good, hyung” Mingyu said, “I think I am gonna die” he added. “Of Fever? Man that will be embarrassing” Wonwoo said chuckling as he caressed the head of a sick Mingyu who was pouting. “Boys, I brought some soup” Mrs. Kim declared when he entered. “I’ll take it, eomoni” Wonwoo said and went to carry the tray with two bowls. “Wonwoo, please make sure he eats it fully," she said and walked out. “Here” Wonwoo said and held out the bowl, but Mingyu refused to hold it. “What? Don’t tell me-” Wonwoo started but Mingyu was already nodding with a shit eating grin as he said “Wonu hyung AA”, opening his mouth wide.

“Kim Mingyu! You’re such a baby” Wonwoo said.

High School

(They are all in the same dorm floor in the High School Dorm, the rooms are, 95z, 96z, 97z and Maknaes)

“Wonu hyung pass” Mingyu screamed as Wonwoo passed the ball to Jeonghan who immediately scored a goal and the audience filled with cheers. “One more Guys! One more!” Captain Seungcheol told them as the game resumed and the ball was snatched by Hyungwon from the opposite team, but Jeonghan was quick to retrieve it, he was guarded by Eunhyuk so he passed the ball to Joshua, who looked around and passed to Mingyu, he dribbled the ball and noticed the time,13 seconds, he won’t be able to make it across the floor to the basket in time. He looked at Wonwoo and he passed the ball to Wonwoo who dodged a few players and passed it to Seungkwan. “S. H. O. T, SHOOT!” Mingyu exclaimed, “S. H. O. O. T” Joshua corrected him and Seungkwan threw the ball that hit the basket and bounced, nobody took a breath, not even when it bounced again, 3 seconds, and it went into the basket, 2, 1. “GAME OVER! Pledis High has once again won the Inter School Seoul Championship trophy” Kwon Soonyoung exclaimed through the speakers.

“YAY!” They all cheered as a few members picked up Seungkwan and Mingyu rushed and hugged Wonwoo. “WE WON!” he said, jumping. A group of girls immediately swarmed Mingyu praising him, his “Style” and how good he looked. Mingyu scratched his neck as he looked at the rest for help. “Okay okay girls, they’re tired, please let them rest” Junhui intervened and Mingyu almost rushed and stood behind Wonwoo, pulling the elder boy with him to the locker room.

“I think I will be rooming with you guys tonight” Jihoon told Mingyu, who looked at him quizzically and said “the extra bed has already been claimed by Wonu hyung” he told Jihoon. “He did?” Jihoon asked, “Well, he always rooms with us whenever Jun hyung is sneaking in with his girlfriend. Don’t you room with Cheol hyung and all?” Mingyu asked, to which Jihoon said “They are too loud and I need the sleep I have an exam tomorrow” Jihoon said and suddenly Wonwoo suggested “You take the extra bed the” and before Mingyu could say something he added “I will share the bed with MIngyu, it’s too big for him alone anyway” and Wonwoo shrugged. Jihoon quickly agreed and mumbled a thanks as the two then went on to discuss something, but Mingyu was too distracted to know what, his mind was stuck to what his Wonu hyung just said, he felt heat seep through his ears and Jeonghan, Minghao and Seungkwan looked at him suggestively. He shook his head and sat down.

“Yah! Mingyu! Don’t you always sleep with your shirt off?” Seokmin asked, to Mingyu who sighed and looked at his dumb best friend. “Yeah and I feel like not sleeping like that today” Mingyu answered. “Will you be fine? I can share the bed with Jihoon too. It's also fi-” Wonwoo was interrupted by a quick “No” from Mingyu. Minghao smirked to himself as he slightly opened his left eye from where he was meditating. Wonwoo lied down and looked at the younger man who was busy on his phone.

"Mingyu, keep your phone aside" Wonwoo said, his voice was low, so low that if Mingyu wasn't lying beside him he'd miss that Wonwoo said something. And Mingyu did, he turned towards his hyung. "Sleep, you're tired" Wonwoo said, "I'm not sleepy yet Wonu hyung" Mingyu pouted. "Close your eyes" Wonwoo said and almost like back then, he ruffled Mingyu's hair, caressing them gently with his fingers. Mingyu felt his ears heat up, but didn't dare to open his eyes, it took every ounce of his self-control to not pin the elder guy down onto the bed as it is.

On the side lines (behind Wonwoo, who is oblivious) a wide eyed Seokmin sat up in shock on the scene and was immediately kicked by Jihoon and pulled back onto his pillow by Minghao who were on the beds on his both sides.

"No, why would I disturb our friendship with the confession?" Mingyu asked Jeonghan, Minghao, Seungkwan and the new addition Jihoon. "Ayee, To put your cards ON the table. You don't necessarily need a label. But he should know" Jeonghan said and the other three nodded. Suddenly Vernon and Seokmin came running "Wonwoo hyung" the latter whispered out of breath. "Did something happen to Wonu hyung?!" Mingyu said and stood up. "Someone is confessing to him" Vernon said. "Aye that's nothing new" Jeonghan who barely picked his ass above the ground sat back down.

"He accepted her flowers" Seokmin said and Mingyu went cold. "He did? Who is it?" Mingyu asked. "Seo Eunha, his lab partner" Vernon said. Mingyu knew Wonwoo and his lab partner were good friends but he never expected this. Maybe it's his fault Minghao had told him numerous times in the past to atleast tell Wonwoo, now he probably lost his chance.

The next day

He didn't wait for Wonwoo at the canteen like the other days. All everyone was talking about was how lucky Seo Eunha was that Jeon Wonwoo accepted her proposal. The Wonwoo who bowed and apologized to anybody who even tried to confess to him and used to bolt immediately. Minghao and Seokmin kept glancing concernedly at Mingyu. The three were sitting in the field waiting for classes to start when Mingyu's phone rang 'Wonu hyung' as if second nature he received the call, then realizing what he did and shook his head as he said "hello?"

-"Where are you? Won't you eat?"

"I ate, we had an early class" Mingyu lied.

-"on a Tuesday?"

"Yes, it's starting- bye" Mingyu quickly hung up.

"Are you sure this is the best course of action?" Jeonghan's voice sounded. "Of course not" Minghao said "but he's gonna do it anyway" he said and Mingyu grunted and covered his face.

"Kim Mingyu, you will have to talk to him at some point! I didn't want to say but it is your fault for not telling him!" Jeonghan said, caressing the sulky boy's back. "Not if I shift to Alaska" he said, "but you can't even speak english" Minghao pointed out.

"Are you coming to lunch?" Seungkwan asked as Mingyu hummed and stopped in his tracks. There came Wonwoo in flesh from the other side of the corridor, he hadn't yet noticed Mingyu, "Fuck" he said which made Seungkwan look up from his phone and cursed as well. Wonwoo wasn't alone there beside him walked his "girlfriend", both engrossed in something she was showing Wonwoo on her phone.

Mingyu immediately turned on his tracks making a beeline for the rooftop, his appetite dead. "Get me a sandwich" he told Seungkwan as he walked away.

"Where is Mingyu?" Wonwoo had questioned the others who seemed clueless. "He was with Seungkwan when I saw him last time" Seokmin slipped and Seungkwan almost glared at him. "I stopped to talk to someone and I don't know, he walked off" Seungkwan saud shrugging. Wonwoo's eyes narrowed on the packed sandwich beside Seungkwan. He shook his head and grabbed it and his own and walked off. "Hyung?! That's not-" Seungkwan tried to stop Wonwoo but gave up and sat down.

"Should we tell Mingyu that Wonwoo hyung is looking for him?" Seokmin asked, "his phone went off, he forgot to charge it," Minghao said. "Let's go after we finish our lunch, I wanted to check on him anyway" Jeonghan said.

"Kim Mingyu!" The sharp voice hit Mingyu's ears from where he was sitting at the school rooftop. He frowned but didn't look back.

"It's been 4 days, you mean to tell me you're SO busy that you didn't get even a minute to see me or even text me?" Wonwoo questioned, his voice calm as a sea on a still day.

"Do I need to see you everyday?" Mingyu wanted to answer but stayed silent.

"Kim Mingyu? I'm talking to you" Wonwoo egged further.

"What do you want, Wonwoo Hyung?" Mingyu finally spoke, rolling his eyes still not looking at the older male. "I want to know why you're so obviously ignoring me?" Wonwoo asked, now standing just a foot away from where Mingyu sat. "Obviously?" Mingyu repeated. "Were you thinking? You were being subtle when you bolted at the mere sight of me? My Mingyu-ya has never been one for subtlety" Wonwoo chuckled and reached out to ruffle Mingyu's hair, but he dodged, Wonwoo frowned.

"I'm not your Mingyu, Wonwoo hyung" Mingyu said and finally turned. "Why are you calling me that? And what do mean? You'll always me my Mingyu" Wonwoo said. Mingyu stood up and narrowed his eyes, "No I'm not, not anymore. And this is what I am supposed to call you, from now. Why are you even here? Aren't you supposed to be with your girlfriend or something." He chided.

"Are you jealous?" Wonwoo asked. "Yes! Yes I am, I am so fucking jealous of this person who will get to love you and do all those things with you that I'd die to do." Mingyu answered and continued "I am so jealous that even look-", Wonwoo had heard enough he stepped up close to the younger ranting boy and put a hand on the back of Mingyu's neck and pulled, crashing his lips on Mingyu's. The taller boy was dumb found and stunned. It was a short kiss, a little longer than a peck.

Mingyu stood there wide eyed, "Did you even think of asking me if she really is my girlfriend?" Wonwoo asked and Mingyu just shook his head, his brain was too fuzzy to form words. "Did you think I'd suddenly started dating someone without even telling you?" Wonwoo asked once again, and Mingyu nodded his head, still too stunned to speak. "You idiot, I was just trying to loop you in, she's just a friend who was trying to help" Wonwoo said and Mingyu finally spoke "what?" In a tiny voice.

"Yes, my pabo" Wonwoo said and almost immediately was engulfed in a bear hug by Mingyu. "Wonu hyung!" He mumbled. "Only yours" Wonwoo said and on cue, Mingyu pulled away and pulled out Wonwoo's glasses and kept it in his pocket with his big shit eating grin.

At that moment Wonwoo looked at the younger admiring Mingyu's wide built, his hair disheveled probably from running his fingers through them too many times. The autumn sun, shining on Mingyu's honey skin, giving him a softness to the rough exterior he tries to put up.

Mingyu pulled his Wonu hyung close by his collar, putting a hand under his chin. "Mine" he said, "You've always been the only sun warming up my winters" Wonwoo said and finally connected their lips. Wonwoo immediately wrapped his hands around Mingyu, pulling him closer with one hand and playing with his hair with the other, as Mingyu's arms wrapped tightly around his waist.

"Min-mmm" Seokmin was muffled and pulled back by Both Jeonghan and Minghao who also almost barged into the rooftop, but thankfully stopped in time. Minghao and Jeonghan had a silent celebration as they now pulled a very traumatized Seokmin behind them to tell the news to the rest of the group.

minghao loves you, and it comes as easily as breathing most days.

however, when he wakes up at 4:43 in the morning because you’ve stolen the duvet in your sleep, he has to remind himself of that a little bit.

everyone has flaws, and yours is duvet-hogging. leaving him practically shivering on the other side of the bed — yes, he’s being dramatic, but he’s cold, and it’s some sort of ungodly hour, and so he sighs, and tries his best to pry the ends of the duvet from you.

you barely even stir when he tugs you closer, brushing a hand over your face and kissing your forehead; it’s practically an unconscious movement, it’s so automatic for him. one arm loops around your waist, the other manoeuvres him back under the duvet, and he sighs with relief at the warmth that settles over him.

that’s when you decide to wake up, your eyes barely even opening. “hao?” you whisper sleepily, syllables running into each other. “did i steal the blanket again?”

minghao rubs a soothing hand over your back. “no,” he lies, just a little one to coax you back to sleep. he’ll complain to you in the morning, over coffee and breakfast and a little bit of nagging.

“okay,” you say hoarsely, and curl even closer to him. “i’m going back to sleep now.”

he smiles, just barely, at your sudden announcement, and brushes his lips over your forehead again. “okay,” he agrees, but you’re already gone — looking so peaceful that even when he wakes later in the morning to discover you’ve stolen the duvet a second time, he can’t be mad; because despite your blanket-hogging tendencies, loving you still comes as easy as breathing.
