Control. Something she always prided herself on, control over her incredible voice, control over her gravity defying moves, control over the insane amount of power she possessed. But her emotions were volatile, now thankfully less explosive due to her effort to rein them as well. She handled this relatively good; Cindy concluded silently.

Lost in her thoughts, the contact, despite who he was and how she felt spooked her. The brief tensing and visible flinch as if expecting harm a telltale sign exactly what type of men she has been dealing with.

“I'm...I'm not?” she repeated, despite her clothing, her behavior, sparkling jade eyes were filled with such innocence at the uncertain question

It took tremendous effort to not reach after him, regretting terribly the initial reflexive reaction. Erebus definitely didn't deserve to feel terrible because of that.

“My...” slip? “reflex before...wasn't because of you. You are nothing but kind to me. I...don't really experience it often you know?”

“That time I was too angry to break into a sex shop for a getup like this, so not yet. But this is similar to my everyday clothes” Cindy chuckled, her wardrobe was indeed outrageous and demanding attention

Jade eyes flicked towards the cigarette with a tiny head tilt, what if- ‘No one wants you. Not for long anyway.’ the memory immediately halted every movement. What if he wasn’t interested? What if she was making him uncomfortable and he was too kind to firmly tell her? The thought brought a strong internal recoil along with creeping strands of disgust towards herself.

She will get over it, the feeling will pass. Especially when he finds his dream woman or man who is probably the very opposite of her. A smile which never reached her eyes as she made her way off the table, definitely less flashy than the previous process.

“Then see you during rehearsal, yeah? I…didn’t want to disturb your break.”

She had a point. Most of her wardrove was revealing in some way. But Cindy was certainly more flashy while he was more subdued with his own wardrobe.

He noticed something was wrong when she was unusually quiet for a moment. His concerns were confirmed by the joyless smile on her face. Erebus couldn’t help but worry he had offended her in some way. 

The gargoyle was trying to be respectful of her. To show her that he valued her more than her body. 

“Oh. Uh, yeah.” He answered, cigarette hanging out of his mouth. A hand reached out to gently grab a hold of her arm before she could leave. “Hey,” This time, he gave her his full, undivided attention. “You’re not disturbing me.” And then he let her arm go.

Surprise flared across her face as her option to leave was ruled out. Maybe he was only curious...she couldn't blame that either.

A small smile at his question, it was both flattering and adorable. “...Not quite”

“Something...more.” her voice seemed to come from all directions, surrounding them a bit muffled since it came from the stars outside this dimension

“Part of me was created when the first explosion was born in the Universe. I shaped the cosmos, every spark, fire, star is connected to me, part of me. I'm everywhere, my fire is cosmic.” Cindy smiled gently

“I was once human, then a spirit after my death. Now, I am the Fire.”

“If it’s the volume, I have bad news as I can belt much longer. Louder. Higher.”

Oh…light. That was a blow indeed, he had no idea what was she. He probably thought she just died and now running around as a Sinner or whatever it’s called. But she couldn’t be farther than that.

“Well…currently I’m not on fire but I uh…I’m not from here.” Cindy gestured around “I come and go as Hell is sort of a pocket dimension and I’m…something else.”

“Let me show you, I promise it won’t be too bright.” after learning that information, busting out her wings probably wouldn’t be the best action. Instead she closed her hands and concentrated.

Unaware how her veins shone through her skin like starlight, her hands eventually parted, revealing a tiny mass floating between them. “This is a protostar, meaning it haven’t had it’s first fusion to be considered fully born.” the start of a bright explosion and Cindy immediately crushed her creation before it could potentially cause Erebus discomfort

“I know this is a lot…I can go if you want.” she would understand. It was only the tiniest glimpse of what she was capable of and in her experiences not a lot of being wanted to be close to someone potentially so…explosive

Of course she could belt even louder. At this point he wasn’t surprised. That meant he’d have to be on guard at all times. Not that it would really help much in the long run.

His brows rose when she confessed to being…something else. So she wasn’t a sinner? Erebus knew from the moment he met Cindy that something didn’t seem quite right with her. But he chalked it up to her being a new arrival. He had no idea what to expect now.

His gaze lowered to her hands. White, pupilless eyes widened upon seeing her bright creation. It wasn’t too bad, but he thankful she destroyed before it got any brighter. Blinking slightly, the gargoyle shook his head. “No! No, don’t go…Just still tryin’ to process this s’all.” An tense silence settled between them before he eventually broke it again. “So, what you’re tryin’ to tell me is you’re some kinda god?”
