Her Fragile Bubble Of Mental Isolation Slowly Tried To Slide The Lid Back Over The Boiling Pot With Relative

Her fragile bubble of mental isolation slowly tried to slide the lid back over the boiling pot with relative success, considering the shop was still intact. The soft voice managed to slither through like a pleasant melody, words molten together into a gentle caress.

Celestial eyes snapped open at the contact, recoiling immediately out of fear of harming the kind soul.
âDON'T!!!â Cindy shrieked out of fright âDon't touch me! You- ...I- you saw what happened with the flowers. What if, I don't want to but I...can hurt you or worse.â the sun eyed girl tried her best to not come to contact with anything, the woman didn't deserve harm to befall on her nor her possessions.
âYou don't have to apologize. You had no way of knowing.â at least her tone was more steady, the jade color slowly retaking the slithering strands of bright golden
âI'm sorry for...everything.â Cindy rarely -or better said never- apologized, not quite feeling herself at fault, only now. For ruining flowers to probably traumatizing the kind lady for eternity

She nodded and gently took the violets from Cindyâs hands, wrapping them up in colorful plastic wrapping and then tying a pretty bow around the stems. After ringing Cindyâs purchase up, she handed them back to the cosmic entity. âThese for your mother? Iâm sure sheâll love them.â Scarlet said conversationally. It was Motherâs Day after all so she assumed thatâs what Cindy was here at her shop for. This was one of Scarletâs busiest days of the year after all.

Jaw muscles clenched with force that actually threatened to fracture her teeth, a small twitch of her right hand at the explanation.
âCertainly noticeable, their wonder isnâtâŠartificial. I can almost feel it.â too bad hellborns didnât have a soul, Cindy wouldâve bet hers would shine so bright, just like her- no thatâs a path she cannot go down yet.
Instead she focused on the ladyâs hands, gentleness in every movement, nowhere a forced or faux gesture that would be expected from shopkeepers. She was aware she havenât picked the most expensive flowers yet she wasnât coerced into possibly buying more or picking a bouquet. Cindy judged beings by her own- by the Universeâs eyes and this woman was more of an angel than many born in Heaven.
The silent conclusion brought the tiniest of smiles as she took back the delicate flowers. Upon the words they were gone. Everything, from wrapper to petals disappeared in a flash not even leaving the faintest trace of ash behind.

Cindy stared down her empty hands with shock and disbelief, her vision blurring with each passing moment.
âIâŠThat shouldnât have happened, the temperature was way too high without morphing, I donât know. This never occurred- I didnât do it on purpose Iâm sorry! â arms now back to their original position with nails harshly biting into skin without care. Donât touch anything. Donât think. Reconnect. Control.
âSheâŠâ wonât be able to tell âher name was Viola andâŠshe indeed would have.â Donât cry. Who knows what it will set off in this state.
âI will pay for them of course. I didnât-â her voice gave out at last, unable to bring her glowing gaze to meet the shorter ladyâs, afraid what would she see in them

Scarlet froze. Blinking owlishly at Cindyâs hands in silent disbelief, her expression twisted into one of shocked horror. One minute the flowers were there and the next....they werenât.
It took a couple of moments for her to fully process what she saw, Cindyâs stuttered apologies helping to bring the imp back to reality. Her shock quickly dissipated to be replaced by concern once more when she saw just how vulnerable the red-headed woman looked in that moment.
Viola...
So that was her motherâs name.
âI--itâs okay, honey. It was an accident.â Scarlet reassured her in soft tones, eyes glancing down at Cindyâs nails raking across her own flesh. âReally, itâs--Donât do that. Youâre hurting yourself.â Without thinking, she reached out to gently grasp Cindyâs arms, trying to stop her from hurting herself further. âI know it was an accident. Though, I feel like I should be the one apologizinâ. Iâm so sorry for your loss, hon...â

Cindy doesn't have a corruption arc because it already happened & it's now within. Someone, something just needs to flip the switch.
After all, she's a Véghvåry what did you expect
