I Don't Get People's Obsession With Yuri.
I don't get people's obsession with Yuri.
Like yeah he was the first guy in space, but in the grand scheme of things that's not THAT impressive.

Having realistic job goals: Boring, repetitive, are you a Nerd or something?
Dreaming of opening a themed TTRPG/Board Game Restaurant: Exciting, never done before, you can put your animatronic dragon heads as a business expense.
Idk if that was intentional but I think that's actually a great metaphor for the kind of bigotry that Terra Prime represents.
The kind of irrational, pure hatred that makes you feel disgusted to the core by something as innocent as a tiny, innocent baby solely for who their parents are.
It's the same kind of bigotry that makes you angry at 6 year old Ruby Bridges for going to a white school or at a tv show for showing a black woman in the same room as her white colleagues.
It's unfortunately very real.
Love how Terra Prime made Elizabeth to be all "look at this horrible GENETIC FREAK! This MONSTER will surely spark public revulsion" and she's just like:

That is an actual pixie. Little fairy baby. In what universe was that supposed to work?
At this point homie is probably immune.
So I just made a joke that "more women should poison their husbands" to my cool boss and then immediately found out that he got divorced because he was poisoned by his ex-wife
You know, the fact that the TOS crew canonically met Cochrane should throw a pretty big wrench into this theory, but this is SPOCK we are talking about.
Mr Secret-Siblings-Galore who didn't even tell Jim that the very Ambassador boarding their ship rn is his father until he already introduced him formally and would have continued to do so if Kirk hadn't ask him if he wanted to visit his family while they are near Vulcan.
It's perfectly in character for him to meet a long dead, famous member of his family and say NOTHING unless that information is crucial for the task at hand.
He probably sat in his quarters afterwards raising an eyebrow wondering why Great-Great-Granddaddy Zefram wasn't as cool as he always heard he was growing up.
OK so we know that Spock is directly descended from Solkar, the Vulcan who made first contact with humans.
Well, what if he's also descended from/related to Zefram Cochrane on Amanda's side?
Alternatively, what if James T. Kirk is a descendant/relative of Zefram Cochrane?
