Here’s a thought

Antimatter is an essential part of warp drive. Right now it costs almost $62.5 trillion per gram, making it the most expensive substance on Earth. Zefram Cochrane invented warp travel in 2063 after society as we know it fell.

But here’s the thing. Zefram was kind of a nobody before his first warp flight. He wasn’t powerful or influential, so if money was still a thing, he’d probably be broke. He got the supplies for his shuttle by stealing or trading for them. This includes the antimatter. It’s the only way someone in his social class could get it.

None of this could have happened if he was alive in modern society. Warp drive is near impossible under capitalism

You know, the fact that the TOS crew canonically met Cochrane should throw a pretty big wrench into this theory, but this is SPOCK we are talking about.

Mr Secret-Siblings-Galore who didn't even tell Jim that the very Ambassador boarding their ship rn is his father until he already introduced him formally and would have continued to do so if Kirk hadn't ask him if he wanted to visit his family while they are near Vulcan.

It's perfectly in character for him to meet a long dead, famous member of his family and say NOTHING unless that information is crucial for the task at hand.

He probably sat in his quarters afterwards raising an eyebrow wondering why Great-Great-Granddaddy Zefram wasn't as cool as he always heard he was growing up.

OK so we know that Spock is directly descended from Solkar, the Vulcan who made first contact with humans.

Well, what if he's also descended from/related to Zefram Cochrane on Amanda's side?

Alternatively, what if James T. Kirk is a descendant/relative of Zefram Cochrane?
