You Know I Started Watching Bucchigiri And I'll Tell You My Opinion Arajin Isn't A Total Idiot But He's
you know i started watching bucchigiri and i'll tell you my opinion arajin isn't a total idiot but he's very empty.
I saw that a lot of people want him to have a redemption but I don't think he will. I also found out that the author is the same as banana fish and sk8 infinite and I hope it doesn't have a traumatic ending like banana fish or an ending like sk8.
I've never actually seen Sk8 and I do know of Banana Fish (too much of a bummer for my personal preferences) but I guess I wouldn't mind Bucchigiri has a bittersweet ending if it all pans out. I like to reserve major judgements until the whole show is over and I can critique it as a cohesive story. So far I really like Bucchigiri and while some parts feel a bit rushed and elements not examined too well, I am still enjoying it, I'm invested. As for Arajin, I wouldn't say he's empty so much as a confused self centered teenager who doesn't know how to act right; I kind of love that he's not the protagonist we usually see in these kind of stories (openly kind, friendly, optimistic, idealistic, the emotional center of the cast, etc.) Like if anything I'd expect Matakara to be the protagonist, though I guess he would still be considered a deuteragonist.
My biggest gripe now is I think the story could benefit from a longer season (or maybe they're planning to see how popular this season is before pitching season 2?) but for an original idea this is pretty good. I almost want it to get a manga or a light novel adaptation to flesh out things a bit more.

You know it was a bit underwhelming but I enjoyed the bucchigiri ending. If I have to rate the show as it is, I'd give an 8/10. It was funny and dramatic in the right places, it kept my interest the whole way through, the animation, characters designs, music, loved it all. It's grounded enough I cared about what was going on and it seems like a lot of the story itself wasn't meant to be taken too seriously or literally. Bucchigiri sort of reminds me of Space Dandy or Gurren Lagann. You just kinda gotta sit back and go with the weirdness and vibe of it and all if that makes any sense? Again would have loved for more time to flesh out certain details and characters, but it looks like the ending leaves room for a potential second season, I guess that really depends on how successful this one did. If they do decide to greenlight a season 2, I'm all for it, I would love to see more of these characters and this world.
Now the SPOILERS!
HOLY SHIT MITSUKUNI ISN'T DEAD!? Man I thought they killed him off maybe I misread something in the subtitles but whatever I'm so happy! ðŸ˜
ALSO OMG ARAJIN KEPT HIS FRIENDSHIP STONE ALL THESE YEARS ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I was wondering if you’re going to do another part of your arjin x reader x Marito? It’s so good!!
Thank you! I am planning another part, I have so many stories I've yet to finish 🥲 I swear they're not forgotten my schedule is just nuts and I'm a mess.
SPOILERS FOR JJK CHAPTER 259 AND A LONG ASS RANT I JUST HAD TO GET OUT
Look, it's not just that I'm sad Choso is likely getting killed off. He's my personal favorite, and honestly, him sacrificing himself for his last living brother, atoning for the death and harm he caused beforehand, yeah normally it would actually feel right for him to go out this way.
EXCEPT WHAT WAS THE POINT?! Yuki sacrificed herself so he could keep fighting. She had this big, emotional thing where she encouraged Choso to not just throw his life away, to live on and embrace his humanity. It sucked this awesome character who barely got any focus went out so quickly but okay, fuckon fine, but at least she was able to impart something meaningful to-
Oh wait Choso's dead? Just like that? Welp fuck it.
I'm sorry I know, I KNOW, since the very beginning we get told this is a dangerous world, we learn early on that death, cruel, unceremonious death, is a very real thing that just comes with the deal of being a sorcerer. But the narrative clearly wants us to care about these characters. It's not just a nihilistic slog. We're supposed to get attached and find meaning in these characters and the hardships they have to deal with. And I wouldn't be so pissed if Gege didn't keep doing this thing where he keeps killing off characters and ending arcs seemingly because he just doesn't really know what else to do with them in the story. It's not good story telling. I'm sad Choso most likely is dead but I'm more annoyed because I don't feel more sad. It feels so anticlimactic and borderline lazy.
If you set up a characters arc and it ends with them dying and we as the readers are meant to give a shit, there needs to be follow through. Commit to the themes and the tone being established. It's just such a waste and honestly I'm starting to care less and less about how this is going to end. I'm guessing it'll end with Sukuna somehow being defeated but I doubt by the end of it I'll put down my phone and think "man what a satisfying conclusion. I'm glad I read this." I'm probably mostly going to think "wow this could have been way better, but ok,I guess I'm glad I finished it." And that makes me bummed out.
I was thinking and will Matakara become a villain?
I mean antagonist probably but I doubt he'll become a straight up villain like suddenly turn genuinely cruel and evil.
And if from the beginning who planned this was shindo and the genius ichiya hurt matakara's brother so they could manipulate him but I have a bad feeling about this like what if both senya and ichiya are limited for example they can't make some wishes like kill someone or bring someone back to life .
I'm not sure how that would work but if Shindo and Ichiya did somehow pulled the strings behind Mitsukuni being stabbed trying to stop that fight, that's so fucking diabolical. I just hope he lives. 🥲
