Wafaa’s Story

Wafaa (@hebsnhel) and I have been speaking for a while now, and she’s been explaining to me her and her family’s situation. She was able to leave Gaza earlier this year for medical treatment, but she had to leave behind her family of 15. Wafaa is a mother, and a grandmother to 4 young children, including an infant. Her granddaughter has been ill and suffering from hepatitis due to unsanitary living conditions in Gaza. For the past 5 days, she’s had a fever that will not go down; because of the lack of adequate medical care caused by the occupation’s systematic targeting of healthcare infrastructure, it’s extremely difficult to get treatment.

These are just two of Wafaa’s grandchildren. Her entire family is still in Gaza, and she has spent the past months apart from them constantly fearing for their lives. She has said herself that her worry is nothing compared to how she knows her family is suffering in their current living conditions. She cannot have peace of mind until she knows her family will be safe, and that cannot happen until her family evacuates Gaza to be reunited with her.

Her fundraiser is legitimate. She is currently at about 1/3 of her goal, with €11.8k/35k. Donations have been moving very slowly for the past few days, and Wafaa is becoming increasingly worried for her family’s safety. Let me see the downfall of these psychopaths in my life

My family is still staying in half of the church that wasn’t affected by the bombing because there is nowhere else to stay other than tents. They are limited to one small meal a day and one shower a week. They are sleeping on the floors, but no one can sleep since there is bombing everywhere around them. Even when there is no bombing, they can still hear the loud buzzing sound of the military planes above them, which would keep anyone who hears it awake. Along with everything, My grandma has diabetes and osteoporosis, so she can’t walk. She has to take her insulin medication along with many others; however, she has run out of many of her medications.” Am on my knees requesting for donation. Target $450
