maybe a mildly hot take but i think everyone should be well acquainted w rejection. my goal is to put myself in as many situations as possible, even w the knowledge in mind that it might end w me rejected in some form. bc not caring about that leads to so much growth, & the more exposed you are to something, the more desensitized you are to it. i wanna reach a point where i don’t give even the slightest fuck about rejection at ALL bc i know that it had nothing to do w me personally. things just don’t work out sometimes

Don’t forget that most libraries can request Inter Library Loans (ILLs) too! Your local library can request books from any library in the country, they’re shipped to your library at no cost to you, and you check them out and return them as usual. It’s a great service that allows you to get just about anything, including books from academic libraries. If you don’t see it in your library district’s catalog, talk to your librarian- they’re capable of all kinds of magic!

Writing is hard. It stretches your creativity until you see holes in it, or worse, your plot. It can be lonely. It can be tiring. It can hurt your brain, and your pride, and your heart. It can feel like the worst thing you've ever done.
