What if Kent (Sam's dad) never left to do Military services and fattened up into immobility instead??

I can see Jodi being such a clear enabler, not only for Sam but specifically for her husband. Kent probably started putting on weight as soon as he started dating her back when they were younger. A couple decades later, and he can no longer move his body under the tons of fat.

I like to think most of the weight went into his belly, just protruding multiple feet outwards and heftily resting on the floor.

Even if his situation is pretty extreme, he's far too gone, constantly begging for food, while Jodi doesn't even think of denying it to him despite the toll its taking on his body.

And for Sam, I can see him growing a bit numb to the prospect of getting fat after growing up with a dad like his, pretty much looking to end up just as big as him in the future with his worsening eating habits

OC question: I get the sense Charlie doesn’t actively encourage any habits from David, but doesn’t hinder them either. Seems like he already takes care of a lot of the chores, so does he kinda anticipate taking on more responsibilities as David’s mobility declines further?

And yeah! Charlie isnt really an encourager but he’s definitely an enabler to David. David’s his best friend (neither of them really ever got close to anyone growing up, so they’re really close) so he doesnt mind spending a little more time from his day to make sure he’s comfortable. Theyre both very intelligent and Charlie’s job pays him very well while being home with David the whole time in case anything happens, so there aren’t really any obstacles stopping David from eating himself into even more extreme obesity

Question for Charlie & David, what characters have they cosplayed at the con (or cons) and what are people's reaction??

Oh it's a whole spectacle every time they go to conventions for sure.

It's pretty much the only time David ever leaves his apartment. During conventions is when he finds the best opportunities of finding rare collecting cards at great prices or meeting popular people involved in his biggest passions, so it's a must visit every time there's one in their city.

There doesn't exist any cosplay costumes for someone like him, so they have to pick characters that would be easy to portray through regular clothes, such as one time where he went as Ash Ketchum, and Charlie only had to put together the jacket.

Obviously, he gets completely drowned in stares every moment he's outside, but he doesn't really care at all, he's way too focused just on not losing his balance and trying to breathe normally while he makes his way through the con halls.

From personal experience, conventions can get super hot and humid, so unless they've had the luck of hitting an extremely well ventilated con, David's just going to be drenched from head to toe in sweat the whole time they're there. There have been occasions where he was kicked out due to dozens of people complaining of the overwhelming sweat odor filling his surroundings wherever he went, though those were during the summer.

Even if David spends the whole time panting and struggling to waddle from table to table, he finds the experience very fun and is always looking forward to visiting the next one with Charlie.

Absolutely frothing at the mouth about your idea for Kent… I love the idea of Kent being absolutely massive and immobile and Sam taking after him thanks to genes and influence… The two of them being easily the biggest guys in the Valley.

You get ittttt 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭 I didn't even consider Kent at all and I never even cared about him before but suddenly that idea popped into my head and it's like yeah this is canon for this setting now and I love it
