you woke up to the sunlight shining directly onto you and your lover's figures. you were curled up, facing him who was still sleeping peacefully due to the quiet sunday. he looked ethereal, with his arm underneath his pillow and his distinct face showing a sign of calmness. you hummed softly at the state you were both in. you moved away the hair that was shielding his forehead and kissed his skin gently as if he were a flower petal.

you couldn't make out the colour of the shirt he was wearing even if you tried remembering the colours you saw when they were alive. you sat up, admiring the room you two shared ever since he proposed in that flower field.

"you're everything i ever needed, so please. would you be mine, as long as the sun still shines?" was all he said. and you said yes, making the best decision you made in a lifetime.

you were about to get out of bed when you felt arms wrap around your torso. "good morning, baby," he blurted in his morning voice. you let out a small chuckle, trying to release from his grasp. sunoo only held you tighter.

"can we please stay in bed?" he pleaded.

"i have some things to do today and don't you need to send that painting to its commissioner?"

he grumbled which was followed with a pout. "i can do that tomorrow."

"nope, not buying it," you said, shaking your head. you place his arms back onto the milky white sheets.

he groaned. "can i have a kiss, then? to start off this day with my lovely partner," sunoo flirted. in return, you bent down to kiss his lips. once. twice. thrice. his lips were addictive and you couldn't help yourself. he was the same, instantly wrapping you in his arms again. he once told you that the colour of your lips was his favourite colour which made you fall for him all over again. your head felt lighter than it was before, making a smile appear on your face as he looked up at your features. oh, he was so lucky to have you.

after a nice warm shower, you headed towards the cozy kitchen where you spent most of your time. he was already there, whipping up some pancakes. on the dining table, laid out most of sunoo's art supplies.

"what did we say about your paints, huh?" you asked, teasing him playfully as you picked up the remainders of his paint tubes and brushes.

"ah, sorry, baby," he said, flipping the pancake. "it was late and i wanted to be in bed with you. you know how lovely you look in the moonlight i couldn't help myself."

your cheeks face felt hot. that was the first time he used that on you, despite the millions of re-used cheesy ones. rolling your eyes, you placed his art supplies back on his easel. as usual, you admired the painting before you. you tried to sense if the painting was warm or cold even if you couldn't see the colours. it was the imagery of a summer sky, with a little cottage in the middle of a wheat field underneath it. his paintings were always a source of comfort. it was why many favoured him.

you smiled, feeling his warmth leaning against your back. "breakfast's ready," sunoo whispered, placing a soft kiss on your right shoulder. "do you like it?"

you nodded, swaying both of your bodies lightly. "i love it."

"this colour would smell like fresh yeast with a hint of honey," he pointed out the many wheat fields in his painting. you closed your eyes, immersing yourself in the smell of those ingredients - bringing up a dull yet pretty muted gold.

ever since your soulmate died, whoever they were, you stopped seeing the brightness of the world - until sunoo entered your life. he knew who his soulmate was. someone named riki nishimura who was his past classmate. both of them were already friends at the time, and they stayed friends as he already handed his heart to you.

you hadn't count the amount of times you felt down because of your vision. the nights where you lay in bed and your eyes couldn't shut out the world were the worst - but he was there to comfort you. he was there to embrace you in his arms and kiss the places you needed the most. sunoo would always tell you that you were lucky as you could see all types of colours, some maybe the ones humans hadn't discovered which would make you feel better. you'd fall asleep from his touch on your back, gently stroking.

being a perfume maker had its quirks; you knew thousands of fragrances. with that, your fiance would describe colour to you using different scents. it started when he first described the colour purple which he described as 'lavender and blueberries'. he continued to do so every day since.e ach description for colour would be different every time. it made you feel so full - it was as if you were the raindrops and he was the escaping sunlight in between the thunder clouds. you both had merged and made a new rainbow, one with more colours than the human eye could see.

"very pretty. how about this one?" you said, pointing to the sky where his strokes were visibly seen.

he hummed. he sure had picked up that mannerism from you. "that one.. it smells like the january morning i started loving you."

to him, you would always smell like that morning. kim sunoo was your stone and you were his. he kept you grounded whenever a thought lifted you up into infinity but here you were, in the arms of your lover. you were grounded, and you were loved. and he loved you so much more.

you two were currently strolling through the bustling city that seemed more packed than usual due to the carnival that opened nearby, the one you were currently heading towards. aweing at the sights in front of you guys, you didn’t realise a large wave of teenagers suddenly passed by, causing you to stray a little afar from sangyeon. when they finally left the area, sangyeon came straight to you, interlocking his hands with yours, “wouldn’t want you to get lost.” he shot you his infamous eye smile, which melted your heart over and over but you realised this was the perfect time to do that tiktok trend you saw a few days back.

a look of mischief creeping up on your face, you slowly slid your hands out of his, pretending to look away. sangyeon just thought you didn’t mean to do it, so within seconds, your hands were clasped together yet again. internally, you were screaming at yourself but you allowed yourself to let go once more. from the side of your eyes, you saw him puffing out his cheeks as you two continued walking through the carnival.

the third time you did the same thing, he realised you were purposely doing it and you could feel his concerned glances as he tried figuring out what was wrong with you. he was even more baffled when you kept talking in the same cheerful tone, completely contrasting your behavior from earlier.

he would be telling a whole lie if he said he didn’t feel hurt, why didn’t you want to hold his hand? was his palms sweaty? at the thought of that, he hastily rubbed his hands on his sweater. you, on the other hand, was acting completely oblivious to what was happening. you had crossed your arms while still animatedly rambling about the huge roller coaster that goes around the perimeter of the area. sangyeon only replied with an occasional hum here and there.

by then, the two of you had already killed some time just mindlessly walking through the carnival and there were less patrons around since the said place would be closing in about an hour’s time. sangyeon had given up on trying to hold your hand, instead paying attention to the mini game booths scattered around.

all of a sudden, sangyeon broke the silence that had fallen between the two of you, “um, baby, could you wait here, i’ll be right back.” he barely gave you time to reply as he took off in the opposite direction, leaving you to sit on the bench distanced nearby. you began to play with your sweater palms, did you take it too far? sangyeon was the type of person who always had some type of contact with you, especially in public, it had become one of the quirks in your relationship. your plan obviously backfired since now, you were the one who was feeling nervous. it had been about 15 minutes and you contemplated whether he left you here and just went back home.

however, the sound of soft footsteps approaching you made you look up and your gaze met with sangyeon’s. he was clutching a medium sized shiba inu plushie in between his arm, the other hand rubbing his nape.

“if you don’t wanna hold my hand, hold this instead,” he muttered, extending his hand to pass you the dog.

you immediately let out a quiet sob, embracing your boyfriend around his shoulders

he was stunned at your sudden action but laughed slightly, asking you what was wrong

you just kept apologizing and he accepted it without knowing the full situation yet till you explained it to him

“you’re so cute, you did this to yourself, silly”

i FINALLY wrote for sangyeon, what type of stan am i!!!! but jokes aside, hope you guys liked it, i realized halfway through that this wouldn’t be that much of a hit but i enjoyed writing it so i shall continue :]
