I love Johanna Mason, her path is interesting and layered.

Tricky strategy turned out to be a good move, given that tributes usually stick to their chosen types. Maybe it wasn't just a method to survive on the arena, but also a kind of way for the little girl to 'rebel': to show that they aren't her masters, she cannot be controlled, she is unpredictable. And she continues to be unpredictable. That's why people are scared of her.

The movie version of Johanna is great; her appearance and demeanor. Except that her d13 interaction with Katniss wasn't fully shown. I love Johanna in these moments and I think this part of story is very important for understanding her character. Johanna is used to being prickly, frightening, sarcastic, such behavior helps her survive alone in this terrible world. But it seems to me that this is only the outer armor that she's just used to wear, being kind and warm means appearing vulnerable again (who can be trusted with that side of her?). And now she is again frightened and afraid of water, returning to the image of that weak crying girl that she once was. But now she isn't weak at all, but psychologically traumatized, in need of safety.

I would like to believe that in post-canon she had that kind of safety and someone to be around :(

Everything you want, and everything you couldn't even dream of. There are wizards here who can turn you into a Cinderella for one evening, and you are the main guest at this ball. The Fairy Godmother shines as brightly as ever, but tonight she will share that radiance with you and make sure you are remembered by everyone.

But thit story has a bad ending. The next morning, all the enchantments will dissipate and the there is no more happy ever after.

after watching a Barbie movie, i will definitely create thg barbie au in my mind. But there is a nuance, first of all it will be a Barbieland ≈ Capitol thing with their barbie president (he lives in a big barbie house)...
