Listen, I'm well aware and you don't need to remind me that whenever you choose to post anything on the internet you open yourself up to criticism and that as unpleasant as that may be, there's no way of dealing with it other than growing some skin and ignoring it, as people will choose to be negative towards others for as long as they so please, and there's nothing anyone can do to stop that.

That said, there is something so irritating about people who've recently been made aware of my channel by way of Jacksfilms (long story short, he made a community post about me using the intros to one my recent videos) labeling me as a "fetish channel".

Long-time viewers of my channel know that I make great use of the Community Tab not just as a way to inform my audience of future videos, or ask for ideas, but as a way to give commentary on a multitude of topics given the growing size of my channel.

On my latest post, I talked about my disdain with the way in which discourse is carried out in society, and the way it fails to strike a perfect balance between emotion and logic (the same one I made on here).

Of the two comments I received (both from people who had found me through Jack), one said: "never thought I'd see something like this coming from a fetish channel."

Here's the thing, I, as well as all of you, whether you watch my videos or not, know exactly what my channel is about, the type of person it caters to, and that's not something I'm ashamed of. Granted, my face and real name aren't in my profile, nor do I go around bluntly admitting ownership of it to friends and family.

The reason behind my channel's existence is no different from the reason why any business exists. Simply put, there was a need that needed to be met, and I decided I would be the person to meet it.

However, I don't feel that this is something that needs to be explicitly stated, and while many of the people who label me as a "fetish channel" are doing it in a humorous way, I think there are also those who say it because they think I'm some depraved person for making this kind of SFW content (as if these people don't also partake in their own SFW pleasures).

It's also slightly humorous to me because one of the comments in Jacks' post said:

"Why is there an entire ass channel dedicated to that"

as if this kink that me and many others have came out of nowhere and wasn't in fact a result of watching media in which much of the humor was low-brow and centered around male flatulence, and as if it isn't the entertainment industry instead dedicating itself to continuing to write this type of humor that I just so happen to be making clip shows of.

I've been watching a lot of commentary videos lately from various creators about the prevalence and rise of "self-care" content on various platforms; TikTok in particular.

Their main takeaways are that while this media may be helpful for those who are struggling or have struggled with self-confidence or people pleasing, the messaging of this content has begun to encourage the adoption of a hyper-individualistic and ego-driven lifestyle in which you purposefully isolate yourself and/or have little regard for others when it comes to socializing all in the name of "focusing on yourself".

It's only after watching these videos along with being humbled in a individual competition I recently took part in that I've begun to realize that while I, and many others may not personally resonate or engage with this type of content, it's very easy to start operating from this mindset, very hard to realize that you're doing it, and difficult to break out of. I also realize that I've been operating from it my entire life.

It's affected my ability to make friends, and of those friends I have made, it's affected my ability to maintain them.

I feel like the issue with movie trailers these days giving away the entire plot due to how long they've become lies in the misunderstood idea that in order to market a film as interesting you have to showcase it in the way that you would for a series on Netflix.

The difference being that one consists of anywhere from 8-12 episodes with each episode being around 45 minutes and containing tons of character development and plot devices as it progresses, and the other is only 100 minutes and cleanly wraps things up by the end of the runtime.
