I Feel Like The Issue With Movie Trailers These Days Giving Away The Entire Plot Due To How Long They've

I feel like the issue with movie trailers these days giving away the entire plot due to how long they've become lies in the misunderstood idea that in order to market a film as interesting you have to showcase it in the way that you would for a series on Netflix.

The difference being that one consists of anywhere from 8-12 episodes with each episode being around 45 minutes and containing tons of character development and plot devices as it progresses, and the other is only 100 minutes and cleanly wraps things up by the end of the runtime.

It's not that surprising really, but I do personally find it interesting how not having as many social interactions compared to my peers has affected my perception of the world, namely when it comes to my writing.

A couple months back I made a post discussing how I feel we should be giving smut writers a bit more grace when it comes to what may initially seem like cringy dialogue, given how truly difficult it is to write real sounding interactions with people that have been newly fabricated, regardless of being an intro/extrovert.

Not only do I find it hard to write dialogue given not having a ton of friends in my life, but I've also found that more time alone has allowed me to develop a more descriptive "third person omniscient" lens of the world.

As in, I feel that I spend a lot of time when I write trying to use all the right words in all the right places to perfectly convey an idea, or a place, or a person, or anything to somebody, as if they had been with me in that moment to also see it or share the same wavelength, but also as if I were making up an entirely fictional world whose description only existed in the pages of a novel and whose image would be different in everyone's minds.

I see so many posts on here that will go into great detail with full descriptions about a specific fantasy they have (shoutout to @oni-the-eevee).

Whenever I see them I always get inspired to write out my own descriptions of fantasies I have, but then I stop short because for some reason I can never seem to completely immerse myself when visualizing these scenarios the way I can when I'm in the mood.

I'm not sure if this is a symptom of how I often become paralyzed with the many choices that I could make when I sit down to start writing something, or if it's because of a dream-like disconnect between the two sides of my brain where one is logical and wants to jot down every specific detail that it remembered, and the other is more euphoric and freeform and doesn't care how crazy the concept of the fantasy is so long as it gets my rocks off.
