Being Mistaken For A Married Couple [genshin Men] Pt.3
being mistaken for a married couple [genshin men] pt.3
itto, kazuha, xiao
these are getting so much unexpected love thank you all so much <333
Arataki Itto
“A new member?” you blink at the clearly flustered man standing before you with your partner’s arm swung around him–just his bicep being nearly the size of his head. However, you smile, setting down your pan onto the stove. “Well, welcome. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“No, it’s my pleasure to meet you. Boss talks of you highly very often, so it’s great to finally see you in person!” he manages to which Itto nods aggressively, just as his eyes trail to the pot on the stove.
“Soup?” Itto inquires.
“Ah, well, Thoma dropped it off a while ago, so I thought I could heat it up for everyone. I added a couple things like he told me to, but I’m not sure.”
“It smells delicious,” the new member says, and Itto laughs fullheartedly.
“As expected of my one and only partner! They’re the best there is, so it’s great on the rare occasion I get to try their cooking,” he beams. Before you insist that it’s barely you’re doing and it’s more so Thoma’s, the new member’s face wavers in surprise. “Oh, do you two not live together?”
“Huh? Whaddya mean?”
“Well, I was under the impression you two were married.”
Immediately, you feel your grip loosen on the spoon you’re holding, barely managing to tighten it again just before it falls out of your hands. Itto, on the other hand, just stares at him blankly, still holding that dumb smile on his face. The recruit shakes his head profusely. “I’m sorry, boss, I just see you two together all the time so I naturally thought-”
“It’s fine!” you clear your throat. “How about you go ahead and wait with the others outside? We’ll get the soup out in a minute.”
And the moment he’s gone, you snap back towards Itto where you’re expecting him to be completely unfazed as per his usual socially unaware self. However, you’re taken aback as you see his face glow pink–nearly the shade of his horns as he forces his eyes to the side with a bashful look painted on his face. Immediately, your eyes blink wide. “Itto, are you okay?”
“Me? Of course, I’m a-okay, just fine and dandy actually! Feeling greater than ever! Wouldn’t expect any less of the great Arataki Itto, right?” he smiles, albeit in a flustered way. Softly, you smile back.
Reaching to cup his face, you grin happily. “Do you really like my cooking that much?”
“O-Of course!”
“Well, now you know a way to have it more often, right?”
With that simple statement, he smiles widely and puts his large hands atop of yours. “You’re right. I should make it official before anyone else gets it wrong again.”
Kaedehara Kazuha
“What’s that?”
“Oh this?” you raise your fingers. “It’s a flower Kazuha gave me. I thought it looked beautiful so I tied it into a ring.”
“I didn’t know you had such an impressive talent. You learn something new everyday,” he shrugs from beside you, opting to sit on the edge of the Crux with his legs dangling off the side whereas you lean against the railing.
“Yeah, it really is cute. Kid picked a good one,” Beidou then releases a hefty laugh. “And here I thought you finally grew the nerve to propose.”
At this, your face heats–even more so when you notice the slightest of red tinting Kazuha’s cheeks as he squints. “It would…be improper to propose with just a flower.”
“Well am I glad you’re aware,” she snickers.
So he wasn’t completely denying it, your mind screamed at you, the words pounding in your chest. You stare down at your flowered hand, not bothering to look up when a Crux member calls for Beidou who rushes to the opposite side of the boat after landing a slap on Kazuha’s back.
Silence overwhelmes the two of you. Though the two of you never struggle in these moments in your relationship, preferring to bask in each other’s presence and warmth, this is different. With the lingering atmosphere of unspoken words, you curse yourself for not being able to think of anything to say. It’s even worse when you realize this struggle is one sided, as he appears to be completely at ease as he listens to the sound of the sea.
You only look up when you see bandaged hand fall on top of yours a few silent moments later.
“When I ask you,” he smiles softly in the way that makes you melt under his gaze. “I’d like to do it with something that has meaning to us. Rather than just something I find lying around in a store, I want it to show you how much I love you.”
You splutter to find your voice and he laughs quietly, squeezing your hand. “So until then–until I find something worthy of your finger–I hope you’re alright with having all of me and my adoration. I know it doesn’t compare to that of an expensive ring right now, but-”
“I’ll wait forever,” you shake your head. “I don’t need a ring if I have you.”
He plants a kiss on your forehead, gazing at you lovingly as you beam. “Trust me, I’ll get the most beautiful one in the world for you.”
Xiao
“Rumors?” he frowns. He never understood why humans spent so much time with such useless activities with how short their life spans were. And while he originally did not give them much mind, now you were in his life–a human with a short lifespan who he did not want wasting any time with insignificant information.
“Apparently, there’s been a couple where people think I’m a new adeptus,” you stifle a laugh at the bizarre idea. “Since I’m around you so often, they think I’m your partner–more of a spouse.”
He’s aware that he’s not as affectionate as other mortals are in a relationship. He tries, he really does, but it never come easily to him and your patience with him amazes him. Yet hearing that at least outsiders might be able to see the endearment he holds for you relaxes his shoulders unbeknownst to him. However, far too lost in thought, you take his silence and usual scowl negatively.
“Yeah, maybe I should let them know these rumors are inaccurate,” you mumble mostly to yourself. “I know you don’t like when other people get involved with us, so I’ll-”
“It doesn’t matter what other people think, to me,” he suddenly teleports closer to you to which you jolt in surprise, but remain seated nonetheless. “You’re free to tell them if you wish, but I don’t–it–it doesn’t bother me.” He pauses, his stomach twisting. “Unless..it bothers you to be known as my partner.”
It’s his turn to jolt when you grab both his hands in yours, shaking your head frantically. “No, I’d never–of course it doesn’t bother me! Being with you is something I hold with pride!”
Xiao opens his mouth but nothing comes out as his brows furrow and his eyes waver. His hands tighten around yours as a silent message, making you smile. “And I–too…”
He doesn’t need to finish his sentence because you tackle him into an embrace that he finds himself melting into. And as always, the scent of you puts him at ease.

ayato [綾人]
he wasn’t a jealous man, but it’d be a tremendous lie if he said he didn’t experience it. his jealousy didn’t stem from insecurity or low-self esteem. his tendency to get jealous was sowed in petty, childish annoyance over anything else
jealous? debatable. possessive? of course. the need or obligation to uphold a facade around others made it a fun challenge. it forced him to act sneakier than a fox when it came to showing his true feelings and intentions
he was so smug about it. sure, you didn’t know he was behind it but he didn’t mind. the reactions people had towards you compensated for it

TEASING THEM
synopsis: teasing your husband with sexual gestures.
content warnings: soft - nsfw + fem!reader

ayato: you saw him in the kitchen so early in the morning just getting a glass water, and just wanted the idea of teasing him. you needed to take a shower but you didn’t want to take it alone, so you brushed yourself into his arms, pressing your chest and breasts against his form arm and smiling… a lustful smile. “im going to take a shower..join me” you offered tracing a circle into his arm. his eyes sparked with lust nearly immediately.
childe: you climbed into his lap after he sat on the couch ready to watch something. wrapping your arms around his neck and whispering right above his lips with a smile. now his dull blue eyes were piercing straight into yours as you whined “I don’t want you to sleep here tonight… sleep with me.” It was enough for him to carry you into the bedroom.
diluc: gosh, you knew exactly how to tease him. sitting right above his groin with your legs wrapped around his waist. tracing shapes into his muscles with one hand, gently grinding on him, along with popping one breast out and gently bringing his hand so he could touch it. he was extremely red but you could tell with how hard he was getting he enjoyed it.
itto: all you had to do generally was trace shapes into his chest and say how muscular he was. in all honesty it was something that sparked his ego a bit. sometimes if you stepped over a line, like suggesting he stay with you for tonight his cheeks and ears would glow pink.
kaeya: you bother him while he was working, simply teasing him by caressing his chin. placing your knee between his legs while he kept a stern grip on your waist. you kissed his neck having him moan gently into your shoulder.

II. In which Diluc finds himself grappling with fatherhood

A shrill, whining cry sounds from the bassinet across the room. You move immediately, struggling to push yourself up.
Diluc curses. “Liebling, please. Let me tend to him until you’re well again.”
You shoot him a vicious look. He tries not to dwell on it, tries to remind himself you’re still in considerable pain and have a long road to recovery. It was a tumultuous birth. He’s— he tries not to think of how things could’ve ended, had the right doctors not been there. There’s few times when Diluc is truly grateful for his wealth, but this is one of them.
He pulls off his gloves, setting them aside. His son wails, wriggling in the bassinet, but once more, Diluc hesitates. Clean. He needs to clean his hands first.
Diluc takes care to scrub every inch of his hands. He hears you sigh behind him. “Prinz, you cleaned your hands just a few minutes ago. I’m sure you’re well sterilized.”
He turns, frowning. “I’ve touched things since then. Need I remind you the doctor said—“
“‘The doctor said to take care to have clean hands when touching the baby,’” you mock, huffing. Diluc’s frown only deepens. You’re in pain. He needs to be sympathetic and sensitive to your emotions, especially now.
The process of picking up the baby is a challenge in and of itself. He slides a hand under his little head, making sure to support his neck as he lifts his son. The doctor had shown him how to lift an infant multiple times at Diluc’s behest. Even so, there’s an unfamiliar anxiousness in his chest, a pounding in his heart that doesn’t cease until his child rests firmly against his chest.
He’s so— so small. Diluc had stared in wonder at his little figure for hours, enamored by his tiny fingers and scrunching nose. He had cried, too, of course. The doctor had the decency to step out to fetch clean water just as the floodgates opened.
Holding his son in his arms for the first time brought an unfathomable wholeness to Diluc. It felt like all the scattered pieces of himself suddenly realigned, falling into place. Where they had always belonged.
“Good baby,” he murmurs, patting the infant’s back gently.
The walk from the bassinet back to the bed feels like miles. Diluc is careful with every step, wary of any potential missteps that could cause him to jolt too suddenly.
By the time he reaches your side, you’ve managed to wrangle yourself into a sitting position, much to Diluc’s dismay.
You seem to know, at least, that Diluc wants to take care of everything. Of you. Of your newborn son. The problem lies in the fact that there’s only one of him.
Again, he’s gentle laying the baby down in your arms. “I’ll feed him, Liebe. Just… please don’t get up while I fetch the bottle.”
You stick your tongue out at him, soothing a hand over the fussing newborn’s stomach. “Hurry, or I’ll feed him myself.”
Diluc retrieves one of the prepared bottles from the cooler nestled by the changing table. It was Albedo’s invention, really, and although his generosity surprised Diluc because of how unacquainted they are, Albedo calmly explained that it was Kaeya, in all his enthusiasm, that had requested the device.
Maybe uncle would be the right term now. He hasn’t the mind to think about it, not when his brother still shows up every day pestering Diluc to let him see his new nephew.
There is a proper order to these things, after all, and Diluc doesn’t want to let Kaeya anywhere near you or the baby until you’re fully recovered. He can very well see the baby through a window when the time comes.
He sneaks a glance at you as he warms the bottle in his hand, flitting elemental energy carefully around the outside of the glass. You’re speaking quietly to the baby, but it’s the expression on your face that makes Diluc’s heart soar. Gentle, unadulterated love, is what it is. It’s what he feels for you both in turn.
Perhaps he really doesn’t deserve any of this. For a moment there’s an ugly, horrid blossom of doubt in Diluc’s heart.
Shit. He’s heated the bottle too much, now.
He curses, testing the milk on the inside of his wrist. You seem to know what’s wrong immediately.
“It’s alright, Diluc,” you soothe, “Just come here while it cools.”
As always, you peer right into his heart. He settles next to you, careful not to disturb the still fussy baby. You let out a soft laugh. “Cautious as always, hm?”
Diluc reaches out a hand, rubbing his son’s cheek with his knuckle. “He’s so small. I’m worried he’ll break if I’m not careful.”
You whack at his shoulder with your free hand. Gods, even though you’re unwell, you’re still ridiculously strong. “Oi, stop with that talk. We’re married. We have a new baby. Isn’t this supposed to be one of the happiest times of our lives? Let’s just bask in the afterglow of it.”
It’s—
It’s quite the image, you two. A child who is so obviously Diluc’s, fiery red hair just beginning to curl. And you’re still glowing, so pleased with yourself despite what you’ve gone through. Diluc is just. So undeserving of this. Of you. This kind of happy ending was never meant for him.
The baby’s rhythmic, pleading cries start up again, as if he’s suddenly been made aware of his hunger once more. Diluc jumps at the sound, startled.
You say nothing, only give him a meaningful eyebrow raise. You know what to do, you oaf. Well. He is the one who has a dozen books on child rearing scattered around his office, after all.
He’s careful. So careful. You help lift the baby into his arms, settling his little head in the crook of Diluc’s elbow. His son really does most of the work for drinking. Diluc only has to hold the bottle, angle just as the doctor showed him, and his son finally settles down, content to just eat.
Diluc feels a little foolish for finding something like this so incredibly wonderful. But it is. His child suckles happily in his arms, feels safe, even, and that alone quells so many of the worries brewing within his heart. You’re right, as always. There’s no reason not to bask in the afterglow.
