Being mature is hard

Today a "friend" of mine (I use the term loosely because we've had troubles between us that we are working through) is having a graduation party. I got an invite but I decided not to go.

Why? Because her younger sister tried to start trouble with me at a different party not to long ago. I would've understood the trouble if I had said all the things she accused me of saying, but frankly the things she accused me of were not just blatant lies, they were so ridiculous they were laughable. I tried not to say anything to her, even refused to talk to her until another time. It was a party for gods sake you do not start drama at something that should be a celebration. She insisted though until I lost my temper and an adult had to step in to stop me from saying anything I'd regret.

After that she went away for about a month visiting family, when she came back we basically avoided each other. On my part I did it because I was genuinely still upset that someone would try to stain my name when I've tried to be nothing but a good friend. Knowing how I can be I waited until she approached me on the subject, because by the time she did I'd have come to terms with how she can be.

She then messaged me on a social media trying to act as if nothing wrong, not to be one to beat around the bush after the formalities I cut to the chase and said my peace. Resulting in a few we cools. Even with that the tension between us can be cut with a knife.

It will probably cause trouble in the future. I am the older one by at least 6 years so I will try to be the bigger person.

Example A: me not going to the party tonight because the last thing I want to do is cause my "friend" problems. Due to our religion we don't go to prom, (Not that our local highschools have prom to begin with), so her party is all dressy much like a prom would be like, why would I let me or her sister ruin her night? Only really sad thing is I can't say "hey I figured your sister would cause trouble so in a way to be mature and avoid that, I decided to not show up to a party you invited me to."

It really is a struggle to be the older mature person sometimes.

I heard cursive is dying. I want to see who still uses it.

I envy writers.

As an artist I can give you a snapshot into a world.

But a writer.

A writer can take you there.

They can weave together words and create a portal to anywhere. You can visit those places instead of looking out a window and wishing to be a part of it.
